The selfish ones in our society will look for any excuse to be selfish. they will not change unless they take a good, long and hard look at their behaviours. The Narcissists of our society will always exist, we just have to know when to distance ourselves from them.

They are dying in hospitals and still denying that Covid is real. To h#!! with them.

True, but bass ackwards. The truly selfish are those who demand others adhere to their personal beliefs.

They always find Someone else to blame for their own failures.

Someone else did not stay far enough away from them, when they could back up and maintain 2m separation themselves.
Someone else did not leave the store, so that they could shop in comfort.
Someone else is not vaccinating, so they are inconvenienced.
Someone else needs to tell them what their private medical status is, so that they can feel better.

Notice how there is always Someone else to blame? There is never any way to please those narcissists. Even when they are clutching their worthless passports and dying in hospitals, it will always be Someone else's fault.

13 school employees in Miami-Dade County Public Schools have died from Covid since August 16th, the Florida school district and local teachers union said.
Among the 13 were four teachers, one security monitor, one cafeteria worker and seven school bus drivers. All were unvaccinated.

It isn't DeSantis saying one way or another there shall or shall not be masks. The executive order removes the authority of the school and leaves the decision to parents, and parents alone.

The governor's order gave parents the sole right to decide if their child wears a mask at school.

New ruling by the QC Govt states that all health care workers must be vaccinated or they will be suspended without pay. Now thats taking a stand to protect the population.

Look whats happening in Alberta. Heard on the news that AB had over 5000 cases during the labour day weekend. I think their govt should be more strict with restrictions. Whats the point of being "open" if your citizens are getting sick and dying.

Yes don't get me started on the Covid mess in Alberta!! I think maybe we need a new premier! So thankful my hubby got his new hip 3 weeks ago as so many surgeries are being cancelled. A fellow I know has mandatory ICU nursing service just starting-he normally works in post surgical recovery-this will be his second stint. At least he knows what he is doing there unlike some of the contract nurses they hope to hire from other places in Canada who will need to start out green here with policies and procedures. Seems like a good time to me to graduate as a nurse-although it is such a tough job.

Just asking, not because I don't believe you; if I'm properly understanding though, wow, that's quite a proposition.

That is my understanding-certainly this is the second time my friend has been called to ICU-he is normally PACU but had recently been doing a stint in outpatients-clearly he won't be needed right there as so much is cancelled. They tried to grab him one other time but his Mum had just passed in April and I think they showed him some mercy-as they should .I don't know about other nurses for sure-I imagine they grab the ones who have the closest skills first and work their way down-but really if they are planning on paying a premium to get nurses from other provinces they are likely better off to move their own as much as they can as they are familiar with our hospitals. It is just a mess and we feel blessed my husband is done and almost recovered.

I can understand floating to general floors, or maybe day surgery or something, but ICU is a tough job. I'm just shocked that COVID has made that happen. That certainly sheds a light on things. Thanks for the info.

In QC the covid cases are 703.....it scare me because we where 1 month or 2 month ago at 200....

What lizzie bargain described is also happening in ON: moving health care workers around in hospitals who have little experience in their new work location but are desperately needed due to COVID shortages. Some health care workers have left hospitals because they don't feel safe or don't feel valued. At least that's what I have been told by recent former hospital workers.

On a positive note, they are working really hard to get the COVID vaccine for little ones. First for 5 year olds to 11 year olds. Maybe for early next year. Then the wee wee ones: age 6 months/1 year to 4 years. Maybe summer 2022. In Canada. *fingers crossed*

S.O. received 3rd Pfizer dose today. We had to do all the legwork as no one seemed to know what the heck was going on. It took us a couple of weeks to figure out all what had to be done and source a location. All done anyway. Pleased.

Southlake must be a ridiculous hospital. Not just in this instance, but they are always firing staff and then hiring four weeks later. I don't know what staffing model they use, but wow, they've got problems. The sad part is that it will lead to poor patient care. ICU isn't a 'you can do it if you try hard job'. It requires a lot of skill, confidence and the strength to do what's right.
