Well they finally closed the schools in Quebec. Today was the last day for the kids at my work. They were told to take everything home. It doesn't sound promising for a January 10th return.

My coworker says the lump is smaller today and no pain. So if any of you guys develop a lump after your shot, dont freak out, its likely just from the injection!

People in Ontario are upset comparing trying to a Booster Shot or Rapid Test to the Hungry Games.

I got lucky and found a pharmacy appointment as my region originally was not going to expand eligibility was going to stick with 50+, 6 months since last dose for boosters. On Monday they revised it to 50+ but lowered it to 3 months since last dose to match the province. Those 18 - 49 are being encouraged to find Pharmacy appointments and to remember you do not have to stay in the region to get your booster.

A family member was on a Pharmacy website and found a ton of appointments available, by the time I logged in the location they are going to was out of appointments but I found one at a different location.

So many people I have spoken to are travelling an hour plus to get their booster as they cannot get one closer which is sad. I am sure as many people who are travelling to get a shot there are the are same amount who do not have the ability or opportunity to travel an hour or more to get theirs.

Hopefully come January we see more mass clinics open allowing those who want a booster to get it with ease.

As of yesterday at 5PM, all schools, bars, gyms, theatres, restaurants except for take-out or delivery have been closed indefinitely. Christmas is still a go but Public Health said that could all change in the next 4 days. Working from home is now mandatory for those who did it last time. No curfew is set right now but that could also change. All minor sports activities (hockey) have been cancelled. More restriction are coming in the next few days.

Speaking of leg pain after the Booster, i am experiencing extreme leg pain. It is so bad, i cant walk. Its like the nerves on the top of my toes and legs up to and including my ankles are on fire. Taking Tylynol helps but not for very long. I hope this passes because im having such a hard time walking.

Jeeze, that sounds awful! So sorry that you are going through this leg pain. I hope you can find some relief, somehow. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Dh picked up the test kits for both kids at the school today. Ds 1 has 5 tests (kit for grade 7-8) and ds2 has 10 tests (kit for k-6). There are instructions on how to test but no schedule for when they actually want us to test.

AB just opened up boosters to those over 18 and 5 months past last vaccine so I booked my daughter who is visiting next week-just called the local pharmacy-easy peasy. I try to avoid online booking-if I can.

Snow Flakey-is that a typical reaction? Perhaps you could check with your doc or your provincial adverse reaction health line just to be on the safe side.

BC announced more restrictions just now.

No indoor gatherings of any size (weddings, receptions, etc…)

    Bars/ Nightblubs closed

Gym, fitness centers, dance classes and tournaments cancelled

Seated events reduced to 50% capacity W/ vaccine checks and masks

Max 6 per table at restaurants, cafés

and told to keep personal gatherings very small.

I'm happy to just stay home with hubs and check in on my parents

You’re fortunate. I’ve had my brother and his wife get it efore the vaccines were available ( fortunately they’re ok). I had a client test positive and therefore I got the call January 1,2021 and I was told to self monitor (my risk was basically impossible due to my extreme diligence) and another client had an “exposure “ to a positive case this summer. In that case all involved were double vaxed. I chose to not work for them during that time.

It’s VERY taxing on my mental health for sure 🥺

here's some good news. paxlovid has just been approved for treatment of covid by the fda for eua. it has undergone two randomized trials with good results. it could provide our beleaguered healthcare system some relief.

I had my third shot yesterday. Today I have a sore arm/shoulder. I was having pain shooting from my shoulder into my chest, which was a little scary, but has since stopped since this morning. I am also having some body aches in my lower back, knees and legs. I will take another tylenol before bed and hopefully all better tomorrow. I am no where near as crappy feeling as I was with the second shot.

Im feeling so much better today. If the reaction i had to the Booster, i feel very very sorry for the people who actually have Covid. It is not funny by no means. I basically slept for 3 days with mild fever, fatigue, extreme pains in my feet where i couldnt even walk. Tylynol was a life saver for me. All is ok now.

I wouldnt have changed getting the Booster no matter what. Getting a reaction is a small price to pay for being immunized. You have greater protection with the Booster.

A slight reaction might actually be a good thing; it let's you know that things could be much worse and that you could experience those symptoms for days and weeks, if you got the real thing.
