Yay !!! ..Finished my taxes today ..getting a decent reund this year ..not too big but decent
Did it the old fashioned way using paper forms and not telefile or netfile.
So how many of you have started doing your taxes or have already finished them or planning to do them soon.
I was lucky this year got all my T4 slips etc pretty early..by the end of Jan ..normally I get themr mid or end of Feb, so I could finish my taxes earlier .
next year I am planning to go for electronic versions of the T4 slips somno need to wait for them in the mail. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I have most of the info already in the software to submit, but I need my T4s to make sure that the info is correct; I switched from an hourly employee to salary in May last year, so my stubs being mailed to me were only calculating from the changeover (which means I overpaid CPP & EI).

I get really excited around tax time. I consider it one of the benefits of marriage so I can do TWO sets of taxes! (I know, very weird....) Strangely enough, I love doing it the pen and paper way. I'd do it for other people too if it was uncomplicated (no capital gains or dividend income stuff) and they'd let me.
Up until last year, I'd do it on paper, check it on tax software, and then submit the paper copy. Last year, I did it early enough so if they said it was never received, I could send the hard copy.
Unfortunately, my employer doesn't get as excited as I do about taxes because we haven't received our T4s yet. Sooo slow.

Can't wait for the T4s, but need the T1, T3 etc too and they are usually later. I start now though so it is not quite so onerous later.
Just joined Kiva.org, an organization that funds micro-loans to people in developing countries. I love the idea that the $25 I saved in groceries can be given to a fish woman with 5 children in the Philippines to help grow her business.
