Pulled out the insta pot and did a batch of white beans and one of black beans. I want to make some soup this weekend I still have lots of kale in the garden. DH and I are taking a vacation day Monday. We have no plans yet. Maybe lunch out. It will be nice to have a long weekend.

@cath007 ((hugs)) The $800 likely covers the freezing shots to the mouth where extractions will occur and the extractions themselves plus the dental team time. Pain relief is out of your pocket ($$) if you need it (and don't have it at home).

If you need a prescription for painkiller, I highly recommend Tylenol liquid with codeine. Unless you want a pill form. I would strongly advise that you write a note asking for the painkiller prescription and which form of medicine (liquid or capsule) you want and bring it to the appointment before anyone comes near your mouth! I had told my dental surgeon I wanted liquid and right after extractions, one of the staff put a prescription on my chest for capsules! I had to try to say "liquid" *it sounded like wikwid* with frozen mouth (I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed) to get the prescription redone right away. Maybe go to the pharmacy and ask about costs of pain relief. Perhaps there is something over the counter you can use rather than something stronger-ask the pharmacist-and skip the dispensing fee.

You will need a ride home (Pere) and you will be reaching for pain relief within 1hr of your surgery. Hope you have some soup at home or Gatorade to sip on. It might be 2 days before you want to try eating pureed food. Would it be possible for you to ask one of your friends to be with you at home for the first day if your father cannot stay with you? Just to make sure the cats get fed and watered and maybe check to see if you want something to drink. You'll probably be in bed most of the time.

Mother Nature and I--ha, not a duo in sync with each other. I grabbed the rake and did some leaf raking to corral anything near the house or back of garage. No wind, but sky was indicating moon and later rain in the late afternoon.
I decided to go store browsing around suppertime. Less than 10min into walk, big winds occur and some rain (not too much rain just big drops every so often). The wind reminded me of my weak core and no way can I deal with it during winter with blowing snow. It was a struggle to hold umbrella up after 5min so I had to lower it. At least the rain was not icy--I was crossing a bridge and noticed the hwy traffic below had slowed down. Rain kept me company until I got to Cdn Tire and later Walmart. Not much rain was falling when I went to Winners.

So, baby stuff. Canadian Tire has a small Party City section of candles, crepe streamer paper rolls and balloons and some gift bags. I did not know when store redid some aisles. Found baby gates located near the kids bikes (top of bike platform has a huge unicorn floatation item keeping watch over one end of store). Plus a few Safety 1st accessories and baby monitors.
Automotive cleaning wipes-yes there's the Armor-All 4 canister set and leather wipes but no obvious glass-cleaning wipes or the regular all-purpose cleaning wipes in their own containers. I noticed at least one screen that people use to search for stuff in store has been removed. Not sure if it was fixed because two units had issues and never seemed to get fixed (ditto some exterior store lighting).

Walmart-hey, Gerber baby cereals including my new favourite, Rice Carrot Pumpkin and two others with berries I'd like to try. $3.47 each or 3 for $9. Found the Honest Company shampoo/wash, lotion, conditioner-$11.47 each. A bigger bottle of the shampoo/wash is $19.47. Saw how much Honest Company box of diapers cost, depending on the size-$22.47. Pharmacy has the Band_Aids I need soon and lots in stock (yay). The pallet of SmartFoods popcorn in the large cardboard cans seems half-sold and has been moved away from the power aisle at one end of store.
Parents-how does a fixed straw inside a baby bottle prevent colic? There's a brand out there promoting its anti-colic bottles. I thought colic was a condition that happens to baby in the early months but that it's not related to bottle use.
Browsed women's coats-nothing really eye-catching. Actually felt a bit depressed looking at the coats.
The girls coats include bright neon colours so I'm a tad envious of the orange, pink and more that I saw in the kid's clothing section!
    Forgot to look at slippers!

Winners-hmm, the Living Textiles swaddles with toys box sets are gone (sold?) and replaced with I Am Bebe box sets (one stuffed toy and one swaddle). Lots of plush fleece dragons or little Black girls-don't recall the brand name. Someone left a kids Green Beaver toothpaste on the shelf-$5.99 for Strawberry flavour. ONe pkg of Honest Company diapers for $12.99 and around the corner on endcap, another package (different size) on clearance for $10 (size 6). I later went to personal care section and found more of the toothpaste tubes. Large electric heating pads for $34.99 are positioned by women's lingerie and footwear (probably because a female model is shown with heating pad on her back). I thought anyone could use a heating pad so why not display them in HOME section? Saw lots of mini and regular size OPI nail lacquer sets at Cosmetics endcap $12.99 and up.

Checked out toy display tables-not super exciting. But then I went over to Men's/Tech area. Endcap of shot glasses and games. Spotted one Star Wars Mandalorian trivia tin set about size of deck of cards-$6.99. In the tech area, saw a Star Wars logo light for $19.99 (had to bend down to get it from lower shelf), a Nintendo Switch racing wheel, two Friends sets (an acrylic water bottle-clear with red writing on it, stickers and not sure what else (box looked really light and empty) for $19.99 each (there's also some kind of Friends Draw what they say game hiding in the Xmas cards display outside the maze to cash), an acupuncture stress ball (looks like a toonie-sized dryer ball with spikes in aqua) for $5.99, something else with Mandolarian packaging, and lots of charging cords for iPads and iPhones.

Kitchen texiles-more winter white and red types at the maze and back in the kitchen corner, a few Mandalorian towels and mitts are left plus lots of red and black Buffalo check dish drying mats or towels/aprons. Food clearance-saw a set of 4 small jam jars (did not check price) which is a rare find at my store, plus lots of PJ Masks candy bags marked down from $5 to $4. I did not look at the small food aisle for any finds or things I need to restock on. But I found it amazing that in Pet section, there's a $16 bag of freeze-dried? squash slices for sale. Which pet eats squash?
Pet section also had a bin of red & white gift wrap rolls, while the roll selection near cash was more pastel or metallic in tones with one kraft paper roll featuring red or green items printed on the paper. Not too many gift bags at this store-they used to be more visible at back of store but now they are kind of out of sight unless one is near Menswear. Saw a small selection of Xmas cards on upper racks. Spotted a couple of card prospects for this year if I decide to send cards later in the month.

Clothing-not much except there's a cool silver sequinned midi skirt on the endcaps that seems interesting.

Overall, it was fun to handle and to explore merchandise. No big crowds but Walmart had a couple of busy aisles and physical distancing is kind of random there. And I did not spend a cent! Just filled up on getting some time to browse and get a sense of what's in-stock. I do thing that acupuncture ball could be handy as my left hand is acting achy this week (particularly around a couple of joints).

Some fools lit fireworks at 10:17pm and I'm hearing round 2 at 11:58pm tonight! Not allowed--hope someone calls the police as fireworks are allowed only for two times of the year in Hamilton.

Snowshowers are a big possibilty this weekend for Southern Ontario. I got the snow shovels out. Noticed a few vehicles driving with one burnt out front headlight tonight-yikes!

Tomorrow morning-tea and a batch of chocolate oatmeal cookies. It's time to enjoy something baked.

    Good Morning Everyone,
Busy day yesterday. I ended up getting called into a local branch, they were having IT issues. Got those fixed.

Went to the doc got a prescription for antibiotics. Still feeling horrible but I am only 1 pill in, I have no patients right now.

Did our grocery shopping, I was a little disappointed I went to get the Roasts that were on sale at Freshco, good news they had some but they had a limit of 1 which kind of botched my plans. I had planned to buy 2, one to cut up to make more of our Beef Strips and Chunks and one to cook off, eat what we wanted and freezer the rest for later meals. I might go back today and see if they still have some and grab one more.

Also No Frills was a bit of a bust, they did not have any eggs, yogurt or sour cream.

    I got:
    1 x Beef Roast $3.99/lb
    2 x Blueberries $1.50
    1 x Mini Peppers $1.99
    4 x Soya Sauce $2
    3 x Raspberries 3 for $4.98
    2 x Olive Oil $4.97
    2 x Mangos $0.67
    2 x Ivory Body Wash $2.99
    2 x Peameal $1.97/lb
    4 x Oranges $0.67/lb
    1 x Mushrooms $3.99 - Big Naturally Imperfect pack
    1 x Milk
    2 x Egg Noodles $1.99
    1 x Gnocchi 2-pack $2.99

Trying to decide if I head back out today and try to get the things I could not get yesterday. I really need eggs, yogurt & sour cream and would not mind another roast.

I have my meal plan for this week done although I might tweak it a little. It is a lot of comfort food meals. Thinking of adding an Chinese style dish to the plan, we have not had one in awhile.

Lots to get done today and my ambition is not there.

    Happy Saturday Everyone

Success, I went to Freshco just after 7 am and got everything we needed. Now I will admit normally I am not the biggest fan of Freshco, I prefer No Frills but time Freshco came through. I got:

    1 x Beef Roast $3.99/lb
    3 x Eggs - 18-pack $2.99 PM No Frills
    4 x Beef Broth $1.47
    2 x Vanilla Yogurt $1.97
1 x Milk for the freezer
    3 x Sour Cream $1.99

One roast will be cut into Strips & Chunks for the freezer, the other roast I will cook we can eat what we want and what we do not eat will be cut up and frozen for later use probably in Shepherd's Pie.

A productive morning so far. I started the bun dough in the bread maker this morning. When I looked at the eggs, I thought, hmm hard boiled eggs would be nice. I then thought, hmm a bran muffin would be nice with the hard boiled eggs. Now I'm just waiting for the dough cycle to finish. I'll then cut the dough into 12 buns and let rise again for an hour.
Stew goes in by 1 and then I can put my feet up for a couple of hours before guests arrive

    Have a great day!

Oh my gosh this sinus pressure and pain is just not letting up. I was hoping getting up getting moving going out would help, nope.

Grocery shopping done - Although I might need to pick up more mushrooms later in the week, I have a few recipes using mushrooms this week

    Veggie Prep is done:
    Carrots for 3 recipes
    Celery for 2 recipes
    Zucchini for 1 recipe
Red Peppers for 1 or 2 recipes
Plus I packaged the Zucchini and Celery with paper towel to keep moisture out and extend their fridge life.

I also put one of the Roasts in the oven to get that cooked off.

I still need to make an Apple Crisp but will do that later because the oven is in use. I think I will spend the afternoon doing some light tidying up.
