Well my afternoon did not go according to plan, what is new, this is me.

I was getting ready to go tackle the kitchen floor when I noticed Mom was getting ready like leaving the house ready, yep she had errands to run.

Okay change in plans before the floors, I will shovel the stairs and clean the cars. I got the stairs done and noticed her car was not running even though I remote started it. So I grabbed her keys and off I went. Jumped in and went to start the car it, nope, just made that horrible noise.

So I cleaned my car off, got Mom to bring out my wallet and glasses and I was her driver, she does not drive my car.

Only downside all of this happened at 11:45 and she needed to get to the Post Office before they closed at Noon so I ended up going in my sweats which means I never got out of the car. Had I of known I would have gotten ready and seen how busy the store were and if I could have run in and grabbed some groceries.

When I got home I did laundry, wash, dried and folded. Just needs to be put away which I will do when I go up to bed.

Dinner was homemade pizza, it made me laugh, I asked what Mom wanted for dinner and her response was "are you sick of pizza?" I took the hint, plus I actually had pizza on our meal plan already. I know to plan for it every 2 to 3 weeks, it helps to keep the temptation of ordering pizza low.

Still need to get the kitchen floor done and clean the bathroom but there is always tomorrow.

Currently binge watching ER. Mom got pulled in one day when I was watching it over shut down. We are on season 14 out of 15 seasons so will need to find out next show soon.

The air fryer orange chicken turned out quite well. The sauce was tedious but I enlisted DS1 so that made it easier. My walks this week have resulted in three coffee stickers. I don’t mind picking up litter when I am rewarded but it’s sad to see how lazy and inconsiderate people are. In one case I watch a guy get off the bus and just drop the cup even though he was going to pass by a garbage bin in about 20 feet. Oh well that’s have way to a free coffee so will take it.

    Good Morning Everyone,
    Busy morning here.

I slept in, woke up just before 8. My original plan was to get up get some cleaning done and depending on the weather go Grocery shopping. I can admit when I realized I had slept in I considered not going shopping but I looked outside and no weather had come (a freezing rain warning had just ended but we were going into a snow squall warning), I decided to bite the bullet and go.

I got there a couple minutes after 8 am (they open at 8 am) and there were only about 5 of us in the store. I was on a mission to get what we needed and get out before the store got busy. My store did not have any bacon or berries, both are on sale.

I have to admit I am a little disappointed with my local store. They are the only store I have been in since the pandemic started that still makes you use a coin to get your cart. Also the last two times I was in there were no wipes for your carts, last time someone told me they were getting more from the back and offered me a wipe from a container off the shelf. This time no wipes. no one at the door and the display is all pulled apart. Was also surprised to see as I went to check out they have taken down all of the barriers to control the crowds at check out. To me this seem like an odd move given our spiking numbers.

When I home, I got the groceries in the house and since it was fairly warm out (made the mistake of wearing my winter coat shopping and broke a sweat loading them into my car). I decided to take out garbage and recycling, both were very full. But before I took out the garbage I cleaned out the fridge, lost two stocks of celery and had some leftover pasta we did not eat. Since the fridge was on the sparse side, I took the time to wipe it all down inside.

I pulled out a few things I need to use up to deal with today. I have two peppers, some celery I need to cut down and package with some paper towel, some blueberries and jalapenos we need to deal with. So those are on the stove waiting for me.

I remember last night when I was going to bed that years ago Mom had bought bro & I these jumpers packs for our cars. This morning I dug this out (impressed I could find it) and gave it to Mom to see if she could jump her car instead of calling CAA.

    Happy Sunday Everyone

We all have pizza on the brain. I bought multigrain PC thin crusts this morning to make pizza one night this week Needed something different then chicken and veggies!

Ok well we are expecting a lot of snow here. So the driveway is clean and ready.

Now I will load the dishwasher and clean the kitchen and then clean out the fridge.

Finally starting to warm up here after 3.5 weeks of brutally cold temps-yeah! Dh and I just went to the fruit and veggie wholesaler and stocked up-"date" morning is kind of exciting because you never quite know what kind of bargains you might find once you arrive. Whatever we find pretty much dictates a big part of our weekly menu. I feel some stir fry, salad and soups coming on.

Seven pkgs of 8 bars each will be delivered ( free ) in a few days.....yup I bought him 56 stupid bars of this soap, used up his GC and cut into my credit GC balance there. So worth it, no more hunting for it in the stores.
Maybe now he'll fess up that he eats it because no normal person uses that much bar soap so fast!
hee hee, this should be posted in the rants or the first world problems threads.
Aren't men picky? Mine too has to have certain soap, deodorant, etc or else lol

I was so annoyed at Shoppers today. Nobody is respecting anyone's space but when I reached the cash, the cashier flipped and said I was too close. Two seconds later she walks right past me and zero social distancing. I don't get it - you are supposed to be spaced apart at cash but nowhere else in the store?? And where are the hand sanitizers? Same at Costco, maintain that space at returns and cash but not at the regular part of the store. What is the point of that? They say you are mostly likely to get COVID while out shopping - no kidding. Sorry, I needed to rant. I month to go for the booster.

Last night was -13 degrees, this morning was +3 and now its cold and snowing outside, weird weather.

Picked up Swiss Chalet last night and wanted to try the new soup - part of the winter special. When I got home, I realized that they substituted it with chicken noodle (not want I wanted) and no mention at pick up. Has anyone tried the new soup? It looked delicious in the ads.

Even my Wendy's are taking down their plastic barriers. I guess they weren't that useful, after all. A big show for nothing.

I wouldn't describe men as 'picky'. We've invested the time and thereby optimized our selections. To change would mean making sub-optimal choices.

Good score on the Dial soap walkonby. I'll keep an eye out for Irish Spring soap coupons for your Mom Giseledta. Funny, I was looking for soap on the rope for nostalgic purposes for my Dad at Christmas.

We strictly use Dove soap to shower with here..oddly enough though, I don't like the Dove shampoos anymore. We were buying Ivory for our vegan DD and Partner but it's too wasteful for the infrequent visits of late(i.e. new bar each guest). I gave in and bought Dove body wash for the guest bathroom.
We use Softsoap for our normal handsoap and we go through a lot of it. I usually try to buy it from Walmart when I see it on roll down... I'm kicking myself for buying the "cheaper version of softsoap" from Giant Tiger during the pandemic...it's in the garage now. I wonder if DH can use it to wash the cars or something in the summer.

I was not planning to do anymore baking but I noticed our Blueberries were starting to go, did not want to get fancy so I turned to my Sour Cream Blueberry Muffin recipe and made a batch. Substituted Greek Yogurt for Sour Cream as I had some to use up.

Celery has been washed, prepped and wrapped.

Peppers washed and prepped, thinking tomorrow night I will make one-pot Chicken Lo Mein. This will use up the peppers.

Mom cut up her Jalapenos and froze them.

I still have some apples I need to use up, I cannot decide between Nanny Special Apple Pie which is not a pie, it is like an apple crisp with a shortbread+egg crust. Or making an Apple Crisp. We will see, I was feeling done in the kitchen for today so whatever I make will happen tomorrow.

I still need to cut up a Cantaloup, I was not able to do the Cantaloup deal at No Frills because my store only had a few and they were not the best quality. So I just Price Matched one. I also grabbed a Pineapple but it is not ready to be cut up yet, will let it sit for a few days and then cut up.

I did not get the Kitchen Floor or Bathroom cleaned so I will need to tackle those this week. I am also going to wash the bedding and couch blankets this week since I am working from home. Hoping this week will be a little quieter and at work but not sure who is back, who is still off.

DH and I loved Yellowstone as well... it's hard to fathom some of the stuff that goes on though. We watched the first 2 episodes of 1883 (the spin out series with Faith Hill and Tim McGraw) on the normal Paramount channel. We're hoping that Prime will pick it up once it airs on Paramount + channel. We're also keen on the other spinoff series 6666
