Today is my 28th Wedding Anniversary. We went for lunch at one of our favourite sandwich shops, then had leftovers for dinner. I find that more often than not expensive meals out disappoint me. DS1 will do steak and shrimp for dinner on Father’s Day.
It’s been very windy these past few days. Maybe Sunday afternoon the wind will calm and I can go paddling.
I went to Costco today and ours also had the creamer. I decided against only because it’s a huge bottle and I have 1 at home. I did buy the ginormous miracle whip because I bought Hellman’s last week for the same price and it was half the size. I may try SDM Sunday but I am a little annoyed as my offer is spend 50 and DH has spend 75.00 but his card has 3 of the things I want. Grrr. I may just pick up sunscreen as I am running low.

Dh had a long trip to attend a memorial for his 48yr old friend that died of cancer this spring. I stayed home with our sick children. Dh is staying with my sister and brother-in-law. Dh will drive home tomorrow.

I have oatmeal fruit bars in the oven. A double batch of Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are mixed up and ready to go in the oven next. I’ll make haystack cookies with the kids tomorrow morning, for Father’s Day. It’s been over a month since I baked anything.

Dh and I filed our tax returns at the same time. Dh received his tax return just before Easter weekend. My tax return was delayed because of the teacher related write off. It hit the national news that thousands of teachers were waiting for their tax returns because some legislation was not yet completed and therefore any tax returns connected to that legislation would have to wait. I checked my bank account again yesterday and it finally showed my tax refund and it was the correct amount too! So glad to finally have that money in my hand. It’ll help pay for necessary home repairs.

    Good Morning!

I dropped DS off at work for 9am then went to Walmart. Grabbed a coffee at Mcdonalds (won't do this as often once the stickers disappear)
Bought 2 cantalope for $2. (they are perfectly fine- will cut them up today and put in the fridge for us to enjoy)
Stopped at No Frills, Sdm and FB on way home. Made breakfast of an omelette with onions, peppers and mushrooms and a piece of rye toast. Hit the spot.
I cooked macaroni noodles while making my breakfast for a homemade mac and cheese I am going to whip together.

Yesterday I went to the casino for a free breakfast. The food comps for the April-June period expire June 30th so I want to use them up. At noon when the main restaurant opened I ordered a take out order to take home to the fam. 2 x beef dips with fries, chicken parm, honey garlic wings and a pizza! So lots of food still in the fridge that will be eaten today (so not making dinner today)

Off to clean the kitchen and then deal with laundry.

    Have a fantastic day!

I took our kids for a bike ride to the spray park at 10Am. We took ds’ friend with us today. We were the first ones to arrive at the park and it didn’t get crazy busy while we were there. We are now under a tornado and heat advisory. We’ll just got home for lunch. Ds’ friend thanked me several times for taking him with us. His family has lived in SK for years, but his parents are from Ukraine. His mom has been busy setting up an apartment for their relatives that are arriving tomorrow, from Ukraine. The family was stuck in Poland for 3 months while waiting for visas.

    hi all....

its been a long long week. i am on vacation in 2 weeks... and really insanly looking forward to it
part of the week was spent helping my brother... with alot of assistance from my mom. long story, but everything got done.

oldest and i went to costco this am . took so flipping long. but done. good deals. so expensive. but done.
oldest will be staying with our puppies while we travel to see our youngest. we are staying at a air b and b. 120. per night. full kitchen . we most certainly be taking advantage of that.

i need to get a bit of a handle on the groceries. slowly killing me. sigh. i am wiggling other things.
going to spend a bit of time revisiting other frugal endevors... polish those skills up a bit.

ok. supper tponight is bbq. i had to replace a hose on the bbq, so did that... all fixed up and ready to go

Hubby and i stained and coated our railings with protection ,fun doing a bit of work together . My daughter called and said happy fathers day with sebastian ,they were going to a park to have lunch with sebastians dad ,so nice how they co- parent ,they always put sebastian first.

My son had to work today ,i imagine he will call later .So i cooked a small ham and roasted potatoes and carrots all in one pot ,as i was busy.Hung my clothing out ,dried .I love not using the dryer in the summer.

I am starting to plan my 1 month hollidays in july with all the things I want to do so being focused: I have a plan.
1- Move the reading chair in dad bedroom into the spare-junk bedroom so we will put the furniture and shelving there as he cannot acces his wardrobe now and it is a big problem
2-move the night table into my bedroom
3-move the clothes hanging in the shower rail into their appropriate places in furnitures ..mine and his...that is a big problem too....sigh
4-Declutter the furniture under the sink and the bathroom..I want it to be zen and minimal not all junky and full of stuff not has his proper place
5-Do a major cleaning of fridge and small fridge and freezer.( I have to come with a plan on organization on this one)
6-Cleaning my papers and organize it
7-Toss away expired meds at the pharmacy
8-Declutter the big furniture in the kitchen (buffet)
9-Do cleaning of the junk food space...and remove and trow away expired stuff
10-Clean the junk in boxes under my bed..sigh
    11-Replace the old stove
12-Check to start a coarse for acquiring my driver licence
    13-Work in my things ..

sigh..that will not be hollidays haha...so much to do and accomplish...
    but I have a plan

but most important go to my doctor and dentist appointement and maybe another one and relax..just be zen..not stressed

and in my leisure time or when I have enough..redo a couponning book and contact compagnies for coupons haha
also come with baking, cooking ideas, meals planning and organization with food,.

edit: *** printed my to do list so I can put check marks when something it done and accomplished*** so it will be rewarding haha

@cath007 same for Ontario strawberries. Still not ready. DS1 did all his dad’s favourite for dinner today. DS2 was at a friends cottage for the weekend and arrived just in time for dinner. This week DS1 is away with his friends on a camping trip. They are giving North like really far, I think Thunder Bay. Oh well, might as well do it while they are ready young. His best friend starts law school in September so this was his plan as life is going to be pretty intense soon.
I braved SDM and managed to spend 79.00 before tax all on stuff we needed at prices that I would normally expect to pay and including the 5000 PCO points for using my master card it will earn me 34000 PCO. That's the 1st time this year I was able to take advantage of a 20x event. So it felt like a small win in the grocery department.
