Enjoyed the warmer temps to bbq dinner tonight. I am on a pantry clean out mission. Coming home to see how much we had was overwhelming I have 18 months to get rid of as much as I can because I only want to move stuff I love. A I made a list of all the odd things to use up. Today it was a pack of wild rice.
My SUV needed service. It’s at almost 200000 km and it really has not needed much work. It also looks like new so i am not keen to replace it, I was very happy that my bill was 300.00 less than they quoted me, that’s a rare treat.

I find most programs impossible to get missing points. I know people complain about PCO but they do make it easy and obvious to do an enquiry and more often than not you get the points.

    Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday was a super busy day, I was in a meeting 3/4 of the day and even when I got home I just felt like I just could not get caught up. Then as I was making my to-do list for today I found out there is a meeting I need to attend tomorrow now. I am happy to be involved but I am feeling a little overwhelmed with everything I need to get done this week. I am doing my best to not let it get to me and trying not to stress and just trying to knock things off the list.

On the way home I was going to run to Food Basics but I only needed Heavy Whipping Cream and decided for 1 thing I was not going to go out of my way.

I did stop at the Pharmacy to grab some over-the-counter meds I noticed we were out of. Then went to Esso to do my last fill-up to get bonus points.

I checked the flyers, there are a few good deals to be had, not many which is good a smaller shopping week is just what I need. I also see I have a few offers I can stack which feels like a rarity these days.

    Happy Thursday Everyone.

Good for you not giving up @coupon girl . These point programs can almost be more pain then they’re worth sometimes. I mean, not everybody has the time or ability to contact them and KEEP doing it to get things they earned. Shopping is stressful as it is with these ridiculously high prices but then to have to chase them it’s frustrating. One win for the consumer

Not much happening today. Dh is off since he had a some work seminars earlier in the week so we will just hang out. It’s cold but sunny so outside for walks and maybe a run but no biking since I only have shorts and it’s way too cold for that. Also planning to get my flu shot this morning (not a needle fan).

We normally would go to my favourite Starbucks on a day like today but they had a shooting there yesterday . We live 3-4 blocks away at it was at 8:30 am in the drive thru. That location is PACKED especially in the mornings. Apparently it’s gang related and they found a burnt out car dumped several blocks away. I know it happens everywhere but it hits a bit differently when it’s a place you go to regularly and so close to home. My thoughts and prayers are with all those that innocently were victims of such a traumatic experience.

On a lighter note I’m heading out now for some sunshine.

Have a great day everyone and stay safe

I received package notices for 3 items sent from Mississauga Ontario, but I have no way of collected them packages until next week. I do not like surprises and this is eating me alive. Has anyone received unexpected packages from Mississauga? Any ideas what they are or where they came from?

    Good Morning,
Up early but it took me almost an hour to get out of bed. It is super windy and I could hear the wind and my bed was so warm and comfy I did not want to get but that is what weekends are for, right?

I was in a branch yesterday to meet with our Regional Manager, the person who oversees our plants and one of our Branch Managers, to discuss some procedure issues we are having, it was a good meeting, a lot was discussed but nothing is finalized yet, we will meet again on Monday after everyone can mull it over for the weekend.

On the way home, I went to the grocery store but it was a bit of a disappointing trip. I wasn't looking for a lot but most of what I wanted they did not have. They did not Russet Potatoes, only White which I already have 3 bags of, I want Russet. They had no Strawberries or Chai tea. I got:
1 x Jiff Peanut Butter $5.99 (PM Freshco)
    2 x Vanilla Yogurt $2.49 - $1.00 WUB 2 Coupon
    2 x Fries $2.49 + 800 pts (400 pts/bag)
    2 x Hot Dog Buns (8 pack) $4.50 WUB 2 + 800 pts (200 pts/$)
3 x Heavy Whipping Cream $2.69 PC Member Pricing
    1 x Chai Rooibos Tea $2.99
    1 x No Name Long Grain Rice 8 kgs $15.99 + 4200 pts (1600 pts/$8 + 1000 pts for spending $10 on Rice)

I will be honest, I did not need the rice as I just bought one a couple of weeks ago and a bag lasts use 3 to 6 months but since I could stack the points and I heard there was going to be a Rice shortage, I figured why not. It will be stored in sucker seal bags and I think the expiry on the bags is like 2026. This was the only bag of Long-Grain rice they had.

I grabbed that Chai Rooibos tea for Mom to try as I am having such a hard time finding regular chai. She tried it, and said it was okay so back on my hunt I go. They now have a 48-count that never goes on sale but I have a tea offer so I might go back and grab it getting points is better than nothing.

I have so much I need to get done today but I really feel like this week kicked my butt and I would love to do nothing today. But, because I was in the office yesterday I have work I did not get done, I have a bunch of house stuff I need to tackle, some personal paperwork I need to catch up on and write a meal plan.

I must admit the weather the past couple of days has me wanting all things warm and cozy. For tonight I am thinking of either Beef Stroganoff or Dutch Oven Chicken and Vegetables over Mashed Potatoes. The Dutch Oven Chicken and Vegetables is Chicken with Mushrooms & Carrots in a Creamy Gravy.

    Happy Saturday Everyone

Today i went to get my refund from walmart as i was overcharged on the clearance oikos yogurt, the manager remembered me from yesterday when i put in a nice comment about the service desk clerk. So she told cashier to refund the 4.97 and then dont charge me for the new price of $2.15 as i most likely used that amount in gas to get here .I thanked her such great service in this day and age.

    i got at walmart
    (2) pringles 2.97-1.50 cpn=1.47 each
    botanical lavender detergent 6.00 -1.00 caddle=5.00

in shoppers i got free shampoo pantene thanks to scoop saved 4.49

then i popped into cleo they had 50% off one item only today

i got black dress pants with a crease down the front with a small flair to them reg 49.90-50%=24.95 so happy as i really needed a nice pair of pants in petite size as i am short.

@harbie thankful that you&yours were not at Starbucks when everything happened.Yet too close for comfort and first thing in the morning.Fortunately no one else was caught in the crossfire.

Not much happening around here but cleaning up,pause,repeat....sun is shining brightly which certainly helps one's mood.
Other than a few PC points deals, don't see much else in flyers that I'm interested in.All the better to use up stuff bought on sale previously.
Don't really notice any difference with the grocery chains being called up twice on the carpet in Ottawa. If I'm missing something, please enlighten me!
Oh well my needs are met and then a bit!..
Hope wherever you are today that you're able to give yourself some tlc.
    Blessings to you and yours!
