Just getting into the grocery flyers.
Food Basics beats Walmart on price of Shaw's ice cream at $5.99 vs $6.49.
Food Basics beats Giant Tiger on price of Maple Leaf Flakes at $1.99 vs $2 and change.
There looks to be rain lurking but the temperature is bearable today.

Good Day! A little cooler out there which is nice!
Just returned home from a night away. Last minute decision to use free room offer. The bad- Pool was closed.
The good- Free food and turned free slot $ into cash to take home! Topped the gas tank on the way home (bit cheaper then home)
Need to get some things done around the house the next few days because Sunday we are away for the night again. My BIL was offered a 2 bedroom condo for free at Blue Mountain for the night so my sister sent an invite! My niece will be away at camp so it will be nice to hang out as adults (not that any of us are big drinkers lol 1 is pretty much my limit these days!) Will be nice to go out for a nice dinner and then walk back to the condo.
Off to look at the new sale flyers. We don't really need much so may save the shopping till next Tuesday so we use up what we have.
Have a great day

Nice that you got a free room @Frugalbigmama
If it was at Rama used to love the rooms and pool there. Great score on taking cash home from free slot money.
Hi @Ciel ...noticed that Food Basics has $15 gift card off wub 2x$50 Door dash gift cards
Also noticed a good deal on Chapman's super premium ice cream at Frescho ..it's on for $3.99 - $3 Eclipsa plus 8 AM on AM receipts.

@Ciel21 btw, when you watch Madame X be prepared to like it! For all the bad reviews and cruel remarks made online on about the script and acting, DH and I found it quite delightful, almost entertaining. Only a couple of cringeworthy scenes, but it streamed free for us on one of our channels, so BONUS!

I had a client meeting today in Halifax which is over 300 km round trip, but not a loss as I get mileage and so was able to get to Costco. Not very frugal but it will be the only Costco trip this month so that’s a good thing.
It looks like the heat is going to break this weekend, fingers crossed as the power bill is going to be crazy with all the fans we have going.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

I was on the return leg of my walk. I had not drank water for about 10k and the temperature was 34 deg C, so I was a bit thirsty. I walked across an apartment complex, but there were no hoses where I could quench my thirst. I walked across a parking lot and found a 500mL bottle of water lying in the middle of the lot! It was unopened, but had warmed in the sunlight. I cracked it and instantly sated my thirst. As the muslims say, "Insh' allah".
My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

Good Morning and TGIF!!
Coffee made and sipping while planning my work day. Of course an urgent request in my mailbox to start the quiet Friday I was expecting lol.
Not a big deal will take a few minutes once I have all the proper info needed.
Will make something to eat later this morning (egg on a toasted English muffin) and wash up the few dishes in the sink while cooking.
Then give the fridge a quick clean out. (I need to deliver some of the cream cheese I got for free to my friend (I stocked her up too!) because it is taking up so much space. Will put a load of laundry on this morning and then hang it up to dry (DS's- I said I would do it for him to be nice
)
I want to wash his work pants. I will make sure to grab them when he gets home from work this afternoon as they need to be soaked and scrubbed multiple times before I even put them in the washer. He tells me they are suppose to be dirty but a good clean won't harm them
Hope you all enjoy the weekend!

@cath0007 Unfortunately, through experience, I have realized that you cannot change someone unless they want to change. You have done all you can and now it is his responsibility. If he does not want to make the change, let it go and live your life the best you can. (This is going to sound cold and uncaring) Remember, you can't live their life for them and they are older and will not be around for long.

An update to a program impacting Microsoft users showed blue screens of death as the update caused computers to loop and try uploading the same glitchy program. You probably avoided your own tech mayhem if you did not allow auto update or had your tech shut off. Even The Sphere in Las Vegas became a blue screen.
Impacts included TD bank customers posting about no direct deposits or other service access. If you are expecting the Canada Child Benefit, CRA did push them out but you may have to wait 5 business days to see them. Shades of the cellular outage that took place 2 years ago.
Have to go on public wifi when I go to store later to see if Microsoft Edge works or not and to email a photo to myself so I can print it from tablet tonight. Could not get phone image to print even with Bluetooth on and wifi connection to printer.
Air Miles has a redemption event on until July 26. Metro is leaving Air Miles after July 21.Last edited by Ciel21; Sat, Jul 12th, 2025 at 12:46 AM.

@flemeth , thank you, we are hoping he will agree but I have to be honest navigating the Ontario Medical system is not easy, feels like we just keep getting passed from one doc/clinic to another and feeling like you are going in circles.

Good Evening Everyone,
Oh my what a busy couple of days.
Yesterday I attended a breakfast BBQ at work, a lot of impromptu meetings happening, we had a huge work turnout and a nice customer turn out.
On the way home I ran into No Frills as we needed Milk, I had made waffles the night before and I think we had enough left for 1 cup of tea. Grabbed a few other things but not much on sale this week so only spend $35 which was good with me. Brought only produce except for the Milk and a box of Chicken Strips.
Worked from home for a few hours and then Mom had an appointment at the hospital which I was not looking forward to only because the appointment was at 4:45 so that would mess with dinner, which is why I grabbed the Chicken Strips, so I could get dinner on the table quickly once we got home.
The appointment was okay, she had some good advice but still no real answers or help. They offered a lot of options but most of which have a wait list of 8 months to a year or cost hundreds of $$$ a month. She seemed surprised that Mom does not have benefits. But they did give her some good advice but at the end of the day it is a waiting game.
Today was a work from home day and I can admit I did not get as much done as I had hoped. In my job some days the words and things flow onto the paper and some days they don't. Today was a struggle as much as I knew what I had to do pulling it together was a struggle and I am still not done. I did get pulled away a few times for other issues as well.
I had this weird feeling this would be the weekend Costco would put Chicken Breast on sale and I was right, got the email saw $6 off a pack and I need Chicken. I thought about going tomorrow right at opening but thought do I really want to do Costco on Saturday, nope, I want a weekend at home to tackle all of the things. So I went today got the Chicken plus a bunch of other things that were on sale plus some basics.
My Costco bill was higher than I wanted but they have Heavy Duty bins on sale and I have read stores keep selling out, don't I walk into skids of them at the front door, so I grabbed 4. I think these will work for packing away Mom's depression glass, since we do not have a wall unit we have nowhere to display so we have agreed to pack it away but right now it is boxes and I am worried it is going to get broken. Also, they had new Sketchers' shoes which seems to be the only brand Mom can wear these days and they literally had one pair in her size so those came home with me as well.
Kept Dinner simple with Baked Sausage, Baked Potato and Roasted Brussel Sprouts.
Now to knock out some more work.
Happy Friday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,
