    Good Morning Everyone,
WOW, half the year gone. As insane as life has been it does not feel like it should be July yet, I feel like it should be May.

Yesterday I cleaned the bathroom except the floor, Mom was still in bed and I know she has been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately so I did not want to wake her.

Then I cleaned out the fridge and we did some of our prep. Mom was helping me and using both sides of the sink so I still need to wash and prep all the new produce and I need to do some cooking today for the week. Last weekend I focused on my prep as we both weren't feeling well and I am pretty sure that was from not eating properly so I need to focus on having foods I can grab.

After cleaning out the fridge yesterday I think a few things for this week, found a few things that need to be used up.

Also still working on the budget, I am super happy, even with the convenience foods I have only spent about 60% of our grocery budget. Also shocking but true, I checked, we only had take-out once in the last 3 months , I am shocked. Now Costco is going to be the issue, I overspent but I think if I juggle a few things around all will be good. As much as I want to panic about it, I am also slightly proud of myself in a weird way because I haven't been restricting to not have to rebuy. Plus not to make excuses but to see that by spending a little more on groceries we did not have take-out is a win in my books.

Need to get moving and get things done. Happy Monday and Happy Canada Day everyone.

    Good morning.

Out of bed at 5am but awake most of the night . Not a good night last night. Oh well, today’s another day.

Dh and I went on a ride yesterday which was my first ride after being cleared by my PT. I did go longer than she recommended but I felt great. I was only supposed to go 8 km the first ride and build from there but we did 22.5 km . Oops, sometimes I get my numbers confused

Resisted the temptation to go out to eat after our ride. Came home and helped clean out the fridge so that was a nice savings.

We’re headed to the gym in a few minutes and then the plan for the rest of the day is my FREE Starbucks, FREE gift from Sephora and my RMT appointment which is “technically” free due to insurance.

Hope everyone has a fantastic long weekend.

Found 10kg bag of sugar, forgotten in the Walmart parking lot. I probably haven't even eaten a single pound of white sugar over the last 30 years, but I couldn't bear to see it go to waste. So, I picked it up and began the 10k journey home. About 3/4 of the way home, I stopped into another Walmart and found that the paper sack was now leaking sugar all over the place. Sigh, try to do a good thing and be defeated by poor quality construction. I was hoping to parcel the sugar out to the neighbourhood. (I think that many of the grandmothers still bake for their grandkids.) Alas, I threw the mess into a nearby garbage can.

Things went from bad to worse. I came home to find that I had forgotten to turn off lawn-watering and left it run for 5 hours, as I walked. Most of it probably went down the storm drain. When it rains, it pours. What a waste.

I've been watching some jam making and canning videos, i don't want to use pectin and i like the instruction video from america test kitchen so far.
question for those who do canning, is it worth it? I'm only interested in canning strawberry jam at this time. TIA

    Morning! Happy Tuesday!!

July already!!!! Have to cherish each summer day!!! Beach this week for sure. We plan to start going after work during the work week- It really is a great way to end the day!

Puttering in the garage this week is the plan. The bbq needs a good clean too to keep it looking nice and new. I have some boxes that I can go through and toss so that will free up some space.

I need to look at the calendar and plan some time off before it is October and I am trying to book 4 weeks of vacation time just for the sake of using it up.
Thinking a road trip is in order next week!

    Have a fantastic week!

I just went through a "pile" of things and was able to recycle so many boxes.

Youngest DS has a rubbermaid bin of clean clothes folded and ready to put away. I need him to go through it and give me the stuff he doesn't want anymore so I can add it to the donation pile. Will move that to my car and then drop off later this week in my travels.

Ok I have been putting off cleaning out the fridge but the time has come!
Fridge is clean! Sausage and burger patties put in the freezer. Leftover cooked chicken in the freezer (for future chicken fried rice!)
Tossed old fruit Have 2 containers of cut watermelon that needs to be eaten. Just need to remind the youngest- between him and I we can finish tonight hopefully. I plan on buying another watermelon today .
We don't really need much for groceries- plan meals from freezer- they are both full so just grabbing fresh stuff as needed is the plan.

I wanted to pop out to Walmart to get the Sunflower Crunch salad that is my staple!
Ended up buying a bunch of the different Helman's squeeze flavours (Burger sauce/Garlic etc) on for $3.27 then used $1 off coupon.
    Strawberries.
Then hit No Frills for Rye bread, burger buns, CB cheese slices (since on sale and had coupon and have Dec expiry)
On way home thinking maybe yes burgers did sound good for dinner tonight so needed to pick up lettuce (I need lettuce for my burger lol) so stopped at RCSS.
Now I am thinking I need green onion because egg salad sandwiches sound great for the beach this week.

Hello to all the day before Southern Ontario bakes again in humidity...
Happy to see a bottle filling station/water fountain at my local library today. It's been over 15 years since branch had one and the outdoor Shorty Green fountain in front of municipal centre has not been on in recent years.
No luck finding my seat cushion at transit lost and found. Did get print copies of summer schedules from Hsr employee (the rack of self serve schedules is history). Ventured to Garth Shoppers and found the $4.49 Kotex liners! There is one Nexcare soft and stretch tape on shelf. Deal on Gatorade too so bought the green apple one(for some reason situated in front of frozen foods and not in beverage cooler). Dismal clearance endcap near postal area. PAAS egg grips are 99cents each.
Eventually got to sobeys where glacial wifi was not worth staying on. Since clubhouse lagrille spices were on special, I got one to try. Clover leaf flavored tunes are 2 for $3 but I had purchased them 2for $4 at Shoppers sine that location was a food store site. Change in pharmacy/personal care areas-aisles are longer with no breaks in middle as before.no clearance bin there-have to hike to stock doors to glance at wire rack offerings. 3pack of 3M magic transparent tape wide widths is $6.99 -50% oth on that rack and in party bags area neR seafood dept. Because tape is always needed...
Tablet's autocorrect or fill is grating.
Ended up at library because I missed the local bus after sobeys shop so I hiked up Wilson Street for wifi and newspapers to await the next bus to use my transfer for.
You bet I am Glad the long weekend is over as three days of fireworks but only yesterday was the legal day.someone set some off before 1am early Sunday morning.

Amazon prime days are on July16 to 17. I might need a USB c hub to fix the printing situation. Will see if value village has anything when I head out to get more pants at giant tiger.

    Good Morning!

Dinner last night was French toast with a pile of fresh strawberries. Was very good. Made leftovers for the fridge for the taking. (changed mind on the burger that I thought was a good idea earlier) Others had burgers but I just wasn't feeling it.

It is windy and overcast. Yesterday showed rain this afternoon.

DS will cut our grass tomorrow after work and then I would like him to power wash the BBQ grates.

Our fridge is wonderfully clean and organized. Kitchen is clean. I have no plan for dinner yet. Salad possibly. We also have all the fixings for ceaser salad including the super yummy dressing picked up at out of town restaurant. I don't want to take anything out since I don't know who will be home for dinner so will just leave it as a fend for yourself night.

Laundry should happen today or tomorrow. Will see if I find any ambition.

Have a $5 Marketplace sale scheduled for pick up this morning. I really need to get posting!

    Have a great day!

Morning did a load and hung it out to dry before our rain this afternoon.

My brother is coming to visit Younger brother ,he always brings hubby a coffee.

Then we will pop over to sons house and feed "penny" the hamster and water their potted plants outside .
