Happy Monday! I am not feeling like working but got lots to do so going to power through.....Thinking I will book next Monday and Tuesday off. That should motivate me. No vacation plan but maybe a last minute road trip to be planned!

Saturday- Lazy tired day. Had dinner out and then went to show my son's band set up.
Sunday- Power went off around 730 am. No details were given but showed they were hoping back on 10am-noonish. That didn't sound promising so went for drive to casino for free breakfast Power came on around 1pm. Motivation lost lol so another lazy day.
So this week we need to get stuff done! Writing out a list and checking it off as we go.

Our fridge is looking empty so should go do some shopping this evening. Looking forward the the melons on sale at Walmart. That will be a nice nighttime treat!

Stay cool and have a great Monday!

    Good Morning Everyone,
Happy Monday Everyone, oh my I slept so hard last night getting up this morning was hard, I was still in a very deep sleep when my alarm when off this morning.

That did not last long as the phone started blowing up at 6:30, turns out one of our servers did not come back up after the power maintenance so no one could log into the system this morning.

But I have decided this is the week I get my life back in track so here we go.

We had Mom's car towed to the mechanic last week because when we went to take it in last week it would not start , so waiting to see what all is wrong with it, I am kind of scared.

This morning I have laundry going, plan is regular laundry today, bedding tomorrow.

Last night we had Enchiladas with Mexican corn, wasn't on my original plan but worked out as we had a part bottle of Passata in the fridge that we used to make these. Honestly, I thought the jar of passata would have been past it prime but it wasn't so got to use that up.

Tonight is a mystery so far. But thinking maybe Egg Roll in a bowl, will see if Mom will chop all the veggies for me this afternoon so after work I can just make the sauce and throw it together. Oh and cook some rice.

Breakfast done time to get back to work.

    Happy Monday Everyone.

Figured I should plan dinner so this morning I took a steak out for everyone and unwrapped them and put in a container to thaw.
Will pull veggies from the freezer and then add another side of some sort. I will have some of my sunflower crunch salad as my side.
I will take out the large family tray of lean ground beef tonight and cook that up in the morning into taco meat. Taco salad/tacos for Tuesday nights dinner.
Have been in a rut regarding dinner lately so need to make some sort of plan for us. Tomato/romaine and cucumbers are on my shopping list tonight so will be ready for tomorrow nights dinner. We have everything else needed.

The hardly shopping plan seems to be working...but I think we are getting low on TP! So think I will pick up a pack or 2 that are on at No Frills today. Maybe redeem points so it feels free. (hate paying for TP!)

Popped out to Food Basics just now. Spent $36.20 (the junk food adds up!!! But it's summer and Kolbassa and chips are a picnic/road trip staple!!)

    Ruffles x2
    Kolbassa
    peaches
    tomato
    cucumbers x 2
wraps x 2 (didn't realize we still had 2 packs at home- that's ok- Quesidias are a great dinner idea!!)
Haagen Daz (my treat- that I hide in the freezer lol It last me 4 servings )
Smart Ravioli frozen meal (for lunch one day when I'm starving but don't feel like anything)
    coffee cream x 3 (used 3 x $1 off coupons)

I'm going to take bacon out of the freezer tonight because I'm having a BLT on toasted rye for lunch tomorrow

Will go to Walmart/No Frills tonight and walk around to get my steps in and see what I find.
Then I will top up my gas tank on the way home to get the bonus PC points and I like a full tank.

Got a question for you athletic types, out there. I was chatting with a delivery driver and he told me that, after starting, he managed to lose some weight, but it all came from his legs. His ex-wife says that he has no butt, to speak of, and his legs are like those of a chicken. He has not lost much weight, from his waist, though. Anyone have any ideas how this might be explained?

I had heard about one theory whereby the first place where fat deposits collect is the last place for them to be used by the body. So, if he accumulated fat around the waist before amassing it on his legs, it might explain his symptoms. Also, since the legs are muscle groups he is now actively using to perform his job as personal shopper and delivery of the groceries to the door, those muscles are being used more. It might be more also explain why he has lost so much girth to his legs.

    Anyone else with a theory?

I was going to suggest to him, if he wanted to build muscle mass in his legs, to carry some extra weight during his rounds to stimulate muscle growth, like in weight training. I found it seemed to work for me. It was an indirect effect of carrying my groceries home over 5-10km. An extra 20-60 pounds on various days probably increased stress on my legs and promoted muscle growth.

    Morning!

Have the taco meat simmering on the stove and dishes soaking in hot soapy water. Once the meat is done/cool will put in fridge and finish cleaning the kitchen.

Busy work day but will be a good day now that I have new toner for my printer. $500 later!!!! Crazy. And a project job changing all the cartridges. So glad that is done!
Already set up a package for pick up by Purolator. Love just putting it on the porch. The Purolator guy is the same guy that delivered to where I worked when I was 16 years old! Dedication!

I do have a load of laundry I would like to wash and hang to dry today. I want to wash the tank top I am wearing so will pop the load in the washer when I am ready to jump in the shower

Tomorrow I need to putter in the garage and get posting stuff for sale. Hopefully the rain expected later this afternoon cools us down.

    Have a great Tuesday!

Hmm, I honestly think it will just take time for him. It takes a long time to burn off fat.

In order to help lose the upper body weight, he might want to start tracking his food intake and see what areas he's over in. I use the free app MyFitnesspal but there are lots of other apps as well.

    Good Morning Everyone,
Another wonderful night of good hard sleep and I am so happy about it, it feels amazing.

Although I woke up this morning and totally forgot that I had planned to do the bedding today, I remembered around 8 or 8:30 and decided nope not today as I think I need to run out this afternoon and I don't want to be rushing to get the bedding done when I want to be going to bed. This is why I normally start bedding around 5 or 6 so I can have it done by dinner time.

Last night was Egg Roll in a bowl, so yummy but it came out salty this time and I do not know why. Tonight is another mystery, although I am thinking some sort of pasta. Originally I planned for Chicken Parm but will see how it goes timewise, chicken parm does take some time to make. As a backup I could do Instant Pot Lazy Lasagna, we will see.

Got the quote for Mom's car it is a little less than half of what I was expecting so happy about that.

    Happy Tuesday Everyone.

@HermanH I’m not a fitness expert or a medical professional but SOME causes could be diet and stress. Cortisol can be the cause, Cushings disease and other medical issues.

Also if he’s only walking (cardio) then while weight loss is going to happen it will be a lot slower than if he did strength training. Muscles will burn fat faster.

He should do strength training minimum 2 times a week but preferably 3 and they should be 30-45min each. Core can be done every day but other parts should have a recovery day.

Sleep, stress reduction, healthy eating and a combination of strength training and cardio are vital but in the end you can’t out run a bad diet.

@harbie The truth hurts, that's me in a nutshell. Until I correct my diet all the workouts in the world will not matter, ty for that reminder!!

    Good Morning Everyone,
UGH, this weather is getting to me today, I started to get a dull headache yesterday, today I have a headache and honestly I feel as blah as the weather outside but there are things to get done.

I am trying to keep on top of my work but to be honest, it feels like every one thing I get done I go back into my email and there are 4 or 5 more things to add to my to-do list. I really want to try to get on top of this today.

I must say I am enjoying the cooler temps this morning, I have the windows open and the fan going as it feels a little stale in the house.

We need to go get Mom's car but not sure if with the weather that will happen today, with her mobility going out in the rain can be hard.

Tomorrow someone is supposed to be coming to clean up our backyard, it got away from us this year. Mom cannot do and with my schedule I just cannot. As much as I hate paying someone to do it, I just have too much on my plate to add this. Not to mention pretty sure I am allergic to something back there, when I go outside my skin just starts to itch. So it is what it is.

Need to look at the flyers, did not shop last week so hoping for some good sales this week.

    Happy Wednesday Everyone.
