Well, I had a fun and rewarding adventure out shopping this morning. I put some boxes in the back seat and planned on filling them up for the food bank. First stop was Independent to get a pick up for our family and some donation items...the order wasn't ready when I arrived and a PC express worker came out and said that they were out of Cook's ham and would I like to substitute the other...I asked if I would get the $2.99/lb sale price...she replied err no, this one is $55 ...I politely declined ...wow that's a lot of money for a HAM!! After my order was brought out, a gal in the car next to me exclaimed, isn't "online shopping great!"..I completely agreed. I then proceeded to use my cell to claim 3xboxes of bran flakes...I mentioned CO51, she replied yep, I use that, eclipsa,,yep, websaver.ca...yep, Caddle..yep, airmiles receipts..yep, go coupons...yep...and she uses Sample source...it was like we were long lost frugal sisters chatting away!

I stopped at Giant Tiger and price matched cranberries, pineapple, etc. oh and raspberries for us...they looked SO good! Then ventured off enthusiastically to Freshco...I noticed a license plate pull in ahead of me and it said "Prices"...Well, I thought "I must meet this bargain hunter person who hunts for good prices enough to have a license saying that!...turns out that the guy's last name was actually Prices lol. He was a wonderfully friendly person though and even found the Stovetop Stuffing that I was looking to price match. I price matched Dole pineapple, Stove Top stuffing, cranberries, carrots AND onions! I scanned my Scene card and wait with baited breath now for a reply email from Scene with a code

okay so now off to Shoppers...quick stop to take advantage of the Knorr points promo to combine with the $5 wus $10 offer. Wow! Knorr items are pricey in Shoppers but I bit my lip and made my purchases...no, I didn't receive the 2500, I did however receive them quickly after a points query.

So then last store stop...items from Metro were for family only...not enough "foodbank deals" to appeal to me..I did however discover one thing that had never occurred to me....I could ASK the butcher to cut meat a bigger thickness Duh, I don't know why I didn't think of that before! I picked up 4 thick boneless pork chops for $10!

So off I went to the foodbank..I had a lot of Thanksgiving related food so I wanted to get it there on time...so I phoned and a gentleman met me out by receiving....I happily filled up a dolly with donations and the gentleman seemed pleased and shook my hand. It really is a wonderful feeling using some of our learned price matching skills to maximize donations.

Then the work began when I got home lol. I scanned the items for Neilsen homescan, Submitted Eclipsa, Checkout51 was done out in the field, submitted airmiles receipts for the cranberry, Caddle receipts, checked websaver and Gocoupons...then used receipt scan..then grabbed a coffee and....started with some price fixes from Independent shopping online..they could "see the prices I ordered with...super cool! (I'll post elsewhere), missing PC points for knorr..by then it was time for lunch..

I rarely do such a crazy shop but it was fun. I didn't feel that it was right to pm more than 4 items per store...curious as to how many items others would've done..are there limits?

    Have a wonderful evening all!

@crafter awesome use of your frugal talents today, and especially when you can squeeze the last bit from that dollar to share with others. I miss price matching, but fortunately we only shop for 2 here and our local groups do a great job posting the deals. When I price match in Ontario I try to be super organized and if I know I have a lot I will try to shop at a less busy time but the staff at my closest RCSS are really quick and half the time know the price before I pull up the add and will even tell me if I missed a PM.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

@crafter I shop mostly at RCSS and the are pretty good at PM the cashier does not care how many items you PM as long as you are organized , some cashier would do the PM before you get it up because the know the prices . I would PM and used coupon as well .

    @crafter amazing shop.

I do most of my price matching at No Frills and being in a small town most of the "notable" price matches they know, as soon as I say I am price matching ______ they know but they do say to follow the rules please show me the ad.

I find I price match the odd items so a lot of time they share my price matches with the other cashiers or they write them down to take advantage of later.

    Good Morning Everyone,
TGIS, although I am not sure my brain has processed this yet.

Thursday I had a site visit for our upcoming Christmas Dinner for work (it is coming back, yay!!!!!!). All went well we have hosted there before we have a plan now just to put it in motion.

On my way home I stopped at Wal-Mart as Mom needed 1 thing, I thought I had some groceries to pick there as well but nope so ran in got it and ran out.

Then I ran to Bulk Barn as Mom had a list, I never know now if I should offer to go or if she wants to go but after her Coffee date with her friend she asked if I could go to Bulk Barn for her so I did. We need Italian Seasoning (this is a blend it is different from the Italiano), Pumpkin Seeds, Minced Garlic (none of our groceries store sell this anymore), some special sugar Mom uses in her oatmeal. I got everything she put it all away.

Yesterday Oh my gosh I had a plan and out the window it went. I still needed to do the paperwork for work, I was not worried about, I should have been worried, the paperwork from the department before me was not correct and it was a bit of a mess but we worked through it. I thought oh no problem it will take about an hour (like it has in the past) and before social committee, I will have the paperwork done, I can get in a shower and run the dishwasher, nope. During social committee I had to keep muting myself to print papers, finally after around 1 I had it done, had it approved went to scan it and we lost power. Luckily the branch closest to me had power so off I went.

We had no power for about 2 hours, when the power came back I ran the dishwasher and made dinner as I was starving. I missed lunch I was hoping we were out but in town had power and I could grab something on my way back from work no such luck. I was preparing to head to the next town over when power came back so I made an early dinner.

Between the paperwork and the power outage I ended up working until I went to bed to try to get caught up. I may end up logging in over the weekend to try to get a couple more things done, there was stuff I was supposed to have done yesterday I did not get done.

Now it is the weekend and time to figure out breakfast. Happy Saturday Everyone

Saturdays are meant for laundry and cleaning except it’s freaking gorgeous out and I want to be outside! We have been at 18-22 degrees these last few days but apparently the yucky weather is coming.

The plan is to finish the bedding laundry, a quick vacuum and a short & simple list for NF and Bulk Barn when Dh gets home but AFTER a pickleball match.

I'm hoping to get the garden ready for the fall/winter with some minor cleaning up and sourcing out the garlic I’m going to plant. Oh ya and the bikes need to be cleaned and greased up for storage.

    Have a fantastic weekend everyone

Think the desire for cash is leading to new ways to profit in quick way. At least you were able to collect the funds for family members.

I literally picked up my hold item at the library yesterday, after the self- checkout machine informed me of it as I borrowed a book. Title: How to Break Up with your Friends by Erin Falconer.
I started reading chapter 8 last night. Nothing stings more than feeling like a friendship has taken more from me than has been given to me. Friendships hit shoals and sometimes never recover like when friends either ghost during health matters or do not acknowledge what I say that I can or cannot do in the present. Or friends partner or marry and just assume one wants to either be paired with someone or always go out on couple themed events.
It is like something I read in a book about male-female dating relationships, they require work. If one person in a relationship says they already have a job, that person is not ready for a dating relationship. Same needs to be said for friendships.

That's super cool about the cashiers taking notes on your price matches @SassyAshley That's a huge hat tip!

Thanks @harbie , it does take a bit of time in planning but definitely worth it .

Leak issue at home finally fixed yesterday. Wax seal in main floor bathroom needed replacing. Dripping in basement bathroom resolved. But water supply line to toilet tank is leaking in main bathroom. Basement bathroom ceiling will need repair. Expect sibling will check another issue noticed on the joists. Do not think we are ready to open wall in main bathroom to see other issues as main bathroom was out of use for 10+ hours as sibling did not work on repair in morning but he took things apart.I got grouchy when he returned in late afternoon. Also wiped down surfaces and cleaned tub as he did not care once tools and trash were put away- he checked out!

Wax seals do not seem to last 10+ years anymore. Last prior replacement was likely around 2015 when Dad was not yet ill as he and sibling used to do the replacement together.

Want to get some vine and branch cutting done as rainy weather is on the way. Need to see if Walmart has any pop 6pks left at $2.97 tonight. Need to get some groceries for Sunday and Monday. No baking plans today- hardly ever works out on long weekend.

Pulled out tomato plants yesterday as any new tomatoes withered due to cold nights or did not flourish.Stakes put away. Pepper plants still producing but likely to be pulled out next week.

Shoppers has a 20% off text Tuesday event next week. Claimed my coupon already. Some grocery flyers end Sunday for Thanksgiving deals.

Enjoy whatever sunshine time crosses your days this weekend!!

@cath007 Dollarama sells frosted white Led bulbs for fans 40w that could be used for fridges $3 plus eco fee plus Hst. Dollar Tree has a clear 40w led appliance bulb as well. But I have noticed Dollar Tree may charge a high eco fee on electric/electronic items.

These bulbs are smaller than the bulbs for table lamps. But they should fit in your fridge.
I notice that Cdn Tire wants $14+ for Philips led bulbs in 4pks so try dollar stores first.

Home Hardware likely is another place to try for bulbs.https://www.homehardware.ca/en/searc...y=Fridge+bulbs
