    Morning!

Popped out to Food Basics this morning before starting work. Wanted to grab some burger patties/buns and cheese bars for DS (use up some of the .50C dairy coupons that expire the end of the month) Then decided I should go to GT since it was on the way home. Bought Romaine, a few spice packages (keep us stocked up) and some fancy sauce...by that food guy named Guy...Still overpriced but on sale for $3.97 (reg $5.97) a splurge for DS since he will be home alone and fending for himself lol.

Vacation starts at 3pm tomorrow (back to work Tuesday May 27th) so a nice break! Plan to get house stuff done today/tomorrow and then hit the road! (original road trip canceled so making new plans) My sister wants to go to Casa Loma Saturday but I don't think that is for me (long weekend traffic and on the Saturday!! no thanks!!) Will go to her house tomorrow night to watch the Leafs game and stay the night and then leave from there Saturday...no rush..no plan yet

    Have a great day!

@Giseledta , I feel the same, constantly as I look at the flyers I question is that the new "it" price.

Or just on everyday shopping, those items that don't go on sale and seeing oh is that the new price.

I have to admit, I find myself shopping more at Costco maybe in some cases out of convince but in other cases I might be able to save a few pennies (and I literally mean a few pennies) but to have it and in Costco quantities and be stocked up is relaxing to not constantly be wondering if there will be a sale this week.

Busy busy busy. That’s the theme lately. Work , eat , workout, sleep, repeat.

I did a shop at NF on Sunday and did not bad.

PM’d Silk yogurt, 4 PC coffees than were PM’d to RCSS at $17.99 ea with bonus points.

Received 12,00 pts for coffee, 11,250 for cumulative purchase for a total of 23,250 in pts.

Question for PC collectors. Have any of you had weird purchases show up on your app that you didn’t make?
I have a had a few (the latest was May 3rd). Weird thing is it’s always Havarti cheese and another item which we NEVER purchase cheese. It shows up as my husbands credit card purchase but there’s nothing charged to his actual credit card . It’s been at 2 different locations in different towns. One at NF and the newest at RCSS. Weird.

Today is a semi relaxing day as I had my hard client yesterday so now time to recharge and tidy at home.

    Good Morning Everyone,
Oh what a week it has been LOL.

It is a week in production for me as our production is assistant is off, the second production assistant left, a new one has been hired but they are an internal transfer so we are waiting for their position to be filled so I have them with me this week as I am the production assistant.

Dinners this week have been an adventure, Monday was all good I made pasta with Salad. Tuesday ended up being Chicken Chunks from Costco with Oven Fries and Salad because oh my gosh all of a sudden a headache hit, good news it was going away by the time I left work but all I wanted to do was go to sleep when I got home. Last night I went to Costco after work so dinner was Hot Dogs.

Last night I went to Costco, I did not want to go to Costco, our Costco ever since the Pandemic is always so busy and insane there never seems to be an off time to go anymore. But I wanted to take advantage of some of the Executive Coupons plus some of the sales so it turned into a pretty large shop but I was quite impressed, I spent less than I expected so YAY!!!!! Me.

I will admit I picked up a few things for convenience like Sandwich Meat (it was on sale) then I grabbed a load of Sourdough to go with the Sandwich meat. Also grabbed Hot Dog and Hamburgers buns to have in the freezer, the Hamburger buns were on sale.

As part of the coupons I got the Sandwich Meat, Probiotics (I really like the Kirkland Brand and they are prebiotic and probiotic in one), Kirkland Fabric Softener and Cheese Slices (the real cheese slices).

Then just on sale I got Ice Cream Sandwiches (we buy a box of these every year and love them but they have ruined regular Ice Cream Sandwiches for me), Beef Dumplings, Pretzel Chips, Chicago Mix, Cape Cod Chips and Polysporin.

Then in the I just bought category we got Naan, Cesar Dressing, Eggs (for the price so much easier to just grab at Costco because there are no egg sales except maybe at SDM but mine doesn't carry eggs), Cheddar & Mozzarella (love the Costco Cheddar, I cannot go back), Yogurt, Almond Butter and Nachos.

Oh my gosh so I stopped going to Costco on Tuesday because they never had Yogurt but seem to on Wednesday so I changed my shopping day but hen yesterday they literally had 4 packs and I had to dig through empty boxes to find them. Why is it so hard to find the Kirkland Greek Yogurt and I can't give it up I am obsessed with it, I use it in my baking and cooking, I need it.

Also, I got lucky last night I was dreading going to Costco before a long weekend but I pulled in found a spot (a little bit of a walk but I was parked on a walkway so I could easily load my groceries) got inside and it was a bit busy but not bad and then at Check Out, one person in front of me with 4 things. It was an amazing trip.

Now, tonight I need to do our regular grocery shopping, it looks like it is Food Basics for the win this week. Hoping they have better stock levels this week as last week when I went it, it was slim pickings and in a couple of cases I passed on things because what they had was not good, the produce wasn't good.

Hoping to spend one day of the long weekend cooking and prepping some staples for our freezer so want to get stocked up not to mention I just love going into a weekend with a full fridge.

    Happy Thursday Everyone.

oh no!! @coupon girl say it isn't so!? A new cellphone? It happens to the best of them I suppose, ( ha ha ).
We've been holdouts since they invented them. Never ever had any, still don't want one BUT DH has been teetering
on the edge of temptation for months now. Keeps mentioning how he " needs " one in case of a roadside emergency
when driving to/from work. I had a solution for that......RETIRE you stubborn fart! lol.....he won't. We laugh about
his need to stay working, claims it keeps him active and relevant.

As far as all the comments go wrt grocery prices, makes one want to scream. Since when is a single jar of Classico red
pasta sauce supposed to be worth $4.00? It isn't and never will be, they have watered that down something awful!
That was the FB price yesterday and I usually speak out loud in my disgust not realizing DH was with me this time....
he distanced himself from me pretty fast in the aisle.

How can we give up using mayo? The manufacturers know we are going to buy it no matter what eventually, so up goes
    the price.

If you or anyone else anyone would like to try making mayo, it's easy if you have a stick blender, and the end product is tastier. There's a good base recipe at https://www.seriouseats.com/two-minute-mayonnaise I'll admit I make it less often than I use the commercial stuff though

We all know how most people shop, and so do manufacturers and stores. They buy what they want with only limited regard for the price, seldom if ever PM or use coupons, etc. The silver lining is that if significantly more people started shopping more frugally, it would affect the deals available to those of us who do.

@Arjon small world! My DS JUST told me the other day about making mayo using a stick blender in a jar! I forgot about that until I read
about the higher grocery prices and then now here you are with that recipe and method! We may just have to try doing it once to see the result.
    Thanks
