Chick-fil-A Canada offered a FREE chicken sandwich yesterday and I managed to snag one. What a zoo but, thankfully, only a 25 min wait.
My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

What a difference a day makes. It was 25 degrees yesterday and today it only got to 10 degrees. Pretty sure the heat will go on tomorrow as my mom is here so I don’t want to freeze her out. I would suffer a few more days if it was just us.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Good Morning Everyone, @walkonby , thank you for the cute train.
It is a little chilly out there, we literally went from T-Shirt one day to frost covering everything the next morning. But we have not turned on the heat yet.
Oh my has it been a week. I was in no way shape or form prepared for this week and I push through and was told yesterday my trainees had no idea but working like this is not my style. I felt unprepared and just not the way I like to work.
I did start taking a new vitamin that is supposed to help with stress and anxiety, I know it is not a replacement for therapy but I feel like it is helping, I feel like I am finally out of constantly being in fight or flight mode which has made it so I can function again.
Because I was not prepared for the week, I have been waking up at 5 am (which I do want to bring back my 5 am morning routine, I love that quiet time in the morning, but not so I get right into work) and working from the time I get up until the time I go to bed. I am hopeful next week will be better.
We did somehow finish early this week so I got a surprise work from home day which I plan to savour and get caught up.
Last night after work, I just needed to not come home and work. So I did do our grocery shopping, we didn't need a lot other than Milk but there were a few good sales and I think it did me wonders just to get out even if it was only an hour where I wasn't focused on work.
At Food Basics I got, all on sale Grapes, 4-pack Peppers, Blackberries, Milk, Half & Half (I feel soup season coming on), then I grabbed a Ceasar Dressing since I decided I will go to Costco next week and we were out. Also realized the Half & Half was $2.88 at No Frills and I paid $2.99, annoying but that is on me.
Then at No Frills I got, on sale Raspberries, Cherry Tomatoes, Spaghetti Squash, 2x Fries, 2 x Sour Cream, 4 x Pasta Sauce, then I price matched 4 x Classico Alfredo (Wal-Mart), Almond Milk (Freshco), Sweet Potatoes (Zehrs). Then just because they were a good price I grabbed Naturally imperfect Mini Cucumbers and Zucchini. Bonus I found coupons for the Almond Milk, it has been so long since I have used a coupon.
I have a ton of work I need to knock out today, just so I can wrap up everything from this week. Go into next week with a clean slate.
The house, oh the house needs some love. My hope is during lunch I can write myself a to-do list so I can try to enter this weekend with focus.

Happy Friday!!
Yesterday afterwork decided to go for a drive to the casino to use free play and have a free dinner. (Didn't want to travel there on long weekend!)
Won big on machine #1 and #2. Put the money away. Played with the money brought and left with it plus more! Was the perfect night and still home by 8pm!
oh and won a $5 food voucher so redeemed it for one bite brownies for DS.
Now to get things done this weekend! Will pop out today and grab a few things on my list.
#1 (need 9 volt battery for back up smoke detector- it was chirping low battery!)
Pick up some groceries.
Have a nice long weekend!

I've already " started " some of the prep for Sunday's Afternoon Thanksgiving feast. Things like putting the frozen meats into the fridge to thaw.
Baking the spaghetti squashes to get the " meat " all scooped out. ( I need to save the shells to refill once the squash insides get mixed
together with yummy ingredients ). The scooped out squash filling got put into a glass dish with a tight snap down lid.
The slow cooker dish gets turned on low on Saturday. That recipe I really loved because instructions have you dump ALL the ingredients
in the ceramic pot, numerous veg, spices, broth etc. Says this can be made 24 hours in advance, cooled, stored in air tight container and
simply warmed up to put overtop a bed of Quinoa or Couscous.
For the other recipes I can wait till early evening on Saturday to prep those. Most of what I have planned will be cooked ahead....much easier!

@walkonby , that sounds like my kind of holiday.
I did not get done as much as I had hoped I would today but part of that is we had to have the same meeting twice because half way through we went from a meeting of 10 to a meeting of 3 because the other location lost internet. So we kept talking but then got a message saying we would have the meeting again at 1. But we have a plan, maybe, sort of, kind of.
Now to figure out dinner. This week hasn't been bad but still could have been better, so I do not want to go with a quick fix tonight. Maybe I will just pull some Greek Chicken Meatballs and make some Orzo to go with them.
I am skipping Thanksgiving, but now Bro texted Mom, him and his gf are dropping by so that changes my plans for the weekend because now I need to try to clean up Mom's craft supplies in the living room. This task kind of scares me if I am being honest.
I was planning to start in the basement and work my way up. I need to clean the pantry, I am out of grocery bags again not to mention, I cannot find anything. Plus I wanted to bring up a shelving unit to help us organize the living room. Guess now I am just trying to clean the living room.
UGH, I feel like this has totally taken away my relaxing weekend as I am also guessing Mom will want to make some sort of food. I know that sounds bad but I was just really looking forward to a working at my own pace, relaxing, not socializing weekend, just me and Mom, no expectations.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good Morning Everyone,
All I wanted to do was sleep in this morning but guess who was wide awake at 4:30, yep, sometimes me and my body just don't agree.
As I was going to bed last night it started, if your brother is stopping by we need ......... Not going to lie the list is long, overwhelming and I do not think do able but my Mom would never say no to my brother.
I am not in the best mood and I know it, I just I know, I know, I said it already but I just really needed this weekend and it is kind of bothering me that again it feels like I have no say because I am the one who just always makes it happen with a smile on my face. Do not get me wrong, I love being that person but I also kind of feel like when is it my turn. I know I cannot say anything because Mom will point out she never sees bro and she has not been in the best mood this week so now I have to make it happen.
So far this morning, I have tackled the kitchen, I did the dishes and ran the dishwasher last night so this morning I had to empty the dishwasher, put away the hand dishes, wash a few hand dishes I missed (oops forgot to empty my lunch bag), gave the counters a good wipe down and sorted all the groceries and got them put away or at least moved to the basement.
My plan was to tackle the pantry this weekend as it is a mess but guess that isn't happening.
Mom wants a shelving unit brought up so now I need to dig that out and clear it off as it is full of stuff in the basement and figure out how to get it up the stairs.
Took a break for a yogurt bowl, I was starving even though I did eat Breakfast but I better get back at it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We're just having a chill day ...I have lots to do this weekend. I'm deep cleaning some of my aerogardens ...it takes time to disassemble and scrub with a toothbrush etc but well worth the effort. We're going away for a bit at the end of the month so I have to wait until then to start my seedlings..once some get going, they'll sop up water quickly.
We received most of our items that we ordered for Prime Day and need to scan them. (I still scan for Neilsen Homescan although I whine that it's time consuming for all the work)...I picked up a food dehydrator for an upcoming birthday gift so I'm hoping to dry some of the cherry tomatoes outside that didn't seem to get damaged from the frost. We also stocked up on everyday stuff from our wishlist..and we're going to try to put together a Pantry door rack for spices etc. Fingers crossed we can do it...neither of us are that handy..mind you I did manage to put together a shoe rack last month that came in about 40 pieces...I should've looked at the measurements before ordering though...it takes up more than half our closet in both width and height LOL

Got a 1.4-litre tub of ice cream for $2.40
At least I don't have to worry as much about it melting on the way home, now that the weather has dropped so much.

Good Evening Everyone,
Good news, I got one set of the cubes that used to be in the hallway dug out and moved back upstairs.
But, there have been a change of a plans. Not sure what is up but we had lunch and then Mom started to feel sick. It couldn't have been what she ate as it was literally within 10 minutes of eating. Mom text bro not to come so he doesn't get sick.
I made her a cheater Chicken Soup, we had some homemade broth in the freezer so I used that plus an open container I had in the fridge. Added some chicken pieces I cooked up, onions, celery and carrots plus some seasonings, pasta and we had Cheater Chicken Soup. She had that plus a plain bagel for dinner.
Need to make some Chicken Soup for the freezer, need to check and see if we have any carcasses in the freezer, we usually use 3 at a time. I think I have 2 but will have to check.
For my dinner we had some leftover mozzarella chicken and pasta, there was not enough of the mozzarella chicken left so I added some extra cherry tomatoes to make more sauce and added the pasta. Also made myself some Garlic Bread because, I will never turn down garlic bread.
I cannot lie, I am happy to have my weekend without expectation back but wish Mom wasn't feeling sick.
Hoping Mom feels better tomorrow. I am wondering if it is a bit of anxiety of knowing the house isn't really suitable for guests right now plus Bro was bringing his new GF she has never met.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Happy thanksgiving!
We are hosting today, turkey and stuffing ready for the oven, guests are bringing desserts and I’ll make fresh dinner rolls and gravy while the turkey is resting… all capped off with watching the Blue Jays! Couldn’t ask for a better day!
Its going to be rainy tomorrow so the morning is pickleball and afternoon a bridge club.
Wishing you all a blessed and beautiful holiday, those who are healing(thinking of your knee CG) and good health!

bellies are filled and the dishes all done!
