Can anyone recommend how to get boogers out of an infant's nose? She's not congested, doesn't have a stuffy nose just run of the mill boogers. I have a nasal aspirator (Safety 1st) but it doesn't work well. If you have an aspirator that works, please let me know the brand.

I use the hydrasense one.

I had a safety first one and it worked like a piece of poop. Very pleased with the hydrasense!

sorry i don't know i don't have kids
here's an interesting side story my parents told me: in the old days people would suck the boogers out of their infants' noses. Gross eh? but my parents said if your child can't breath and gonna die you will do it without hesitation.

Take them for a hot steamy shower with you. Works like a charm. She just loves snuggling under the spray.
gone shopping!

i have the blue safety first one i think.
it work well, i just have to make sure i have it positioned so it creates a good seal on the nostril.
if you can, squirt a little saline in the nose, most kids hate this! it can help loosen things up a bit. i like the triaminic pump spray. instead of shooting a steady stream, it is a little spray each time you press it. a little easier on the kids, but it is expensive from what i remember. In 2020 I had 100 FREE Grocery pickups! I've tried a few aspirators and on their own, they've all been trash. I use saline drops. Put a few in her nose, it breaks the boogers up and then once they're loose use the aspirator and they come right out.

My mom told me that's how she did it years ago!

That little baby nose aspirator was a god-send. We used it a lot. You need to make sure you have the right technique and use a firm hand when using it - baby won't like it too much. Remember to clean out the inside of the bulb really well after use....those contents can be gag-worthy indeed...
Now I look at my grown-up boys and they sure have learned to mine that "gold" on their own...
