I've been doing my duty, trying to vote for our members (when it accepts that I exist and doesn't send me to the SK Entertainment page).
I'm in a cranky mood. My senior parents got a letter from RevCan (or whatever they're calling themselves these days). They paid taxes in March, got a letter in July with a small refund cheque, now they get a letter saying they never paid any tax and that they have a week to pay (and with a huge interest payment too) or else. They went to the tax office, who refused to help them and insisted they use the automated phone (which they are not comfortable with) and bring in cancelled chqs as proof. They went to the bank (instead of calling me) and when they asked the teller what a cancelled chq was, she told them to send a blank chq.
So, now I have to go & try to figure out what - if anything - they actually owe.
I went through this 2 years ago with them (here's your refund, no you owe us, no we owe you, no you owe us). Argh! Can't they make up their minds?????
Maybe I should send my devil child () to straighten them out? Do you think he could instill fear into the hearts of beaurocrats?

Hope everyone is having fun tonight.
