I came across this and pinned it into my Pinterest, but I thought I'd post it here...
It's worth knowing when one is young and starry-eyed...
Found mine...no go find yours....life will be lovely.....

We still hold hands wherever we go, and get "looks" sometimes, but we don't particularly care...

I like that one, Lynn. I came across it a couple years ago and copied it to save for my girls when the time comes.

...and for the record, that's exactly the guy I married years ago. I was picky, and I'm glad I was.

There's a lot of good guys out there. The problem I find is that a lot of them get overlooked the same way that many women feel overlooked. They are shy, don't go on dating websites or frequent bars, aren't living glamourous or fancy lives, aren't interested in the accoutrements of the rich and famous, etc. etc..... but they do excel at being kind, gentle, polite, and honest. This is the kind of man I found. We met by complete fluke, and the only reason we ever got together was because we had a mutual friend who called me for him (he was too shy to talk to me and I thought he wasn't interested as he didn't really look at/talk to me when we first met) and encouraged us to meet again. Love doesn't hit you over the head; it taps you on the shoulder so softly that you can easily miss it.

glowworm, I totally agree and you explained things very well - a similar thing happened to me!

I'm going to find the 'how we met' thread, and bump it up for some inspiration for others. DONE!

Beautifully said, Glowworm..you have a lovely way with words.
Personally, I grabbed mine in high-school and brought him up right!
After 42 years, I'm still thrilled with my decision...our anniversary is on Wednesday.

    Congratulations, Lyn and hubby!

I didn't marry the most romantic man, but he is a total gem and treats me like I am the center of his universe (except when I nag him to do chores, in which case, I think he likes the children more).

i am not sure about how to address the gay comment...

if all the good guys are 'taken' it means the women who 'took' them had the sense to see a good man for what he is.

so many women always whine that all the good men are taken, but have such unrealistic views on what a relationship should be and what a man in their lives should mean to them. they never find the right guys. they are always left eyeing other women's men. those other women just happened to know what they wanted, that's all.

    Hmmm.
How about Max Sidorov? He's the guy who started the fund for the bullied school bus monitor, Karen Klein.
Sounds like a good guy to me.
    And he's from Toronto.
    What do you think?
