Ha ha ha!
We encountered a very strange thing a couple weekends ago. I'm not sure what the reasons are for this, but for the last couple years there has apparently been a 'nude bike ride' in Halifax. Some folks wear underwear, but many wear nothing at all (although I do hope they wear sunscreen). This is the first time we've witnessed it (or first and second).
DS (who is six) saw this group twice on the day of the bike ride. The first was from a distance while he was at the skate park on his scooter. The second time, we were on our way home on the bus and this crew of cyclists pulled out in front of the bus at a light, fairly close up and personal.
We don't hide our bodies at home - we don't walk around the house naked, but he sees both DH and I change clothes, get in the shower, etc., so we weren't upset that he saw naked bodies. There were about 35 of them, men and women in various states of undress, some wearing undies or a bit of covering, some wearing nothing but body paint, some wearing nothing but the skin God gave them. Didn't look terribly comfortable, but we didn't make a big deal of it. DS didn't say much about it at the time, I didn't think he thought much of it.
But awhile after they pulled away onto another street, out of the blue he said, "Those were sure some brave naked people."

Too funny!!
When my youngest child was a tot, he overheard us saying that his sister had "pooped her drawers" (I think she had a wet fart more than anything), anyway, he goes upstairs and checks in her dresser drawers and comes down and tells us "No, she didn't.)!

Thanks for the chuckles! I have been reading posts with a lot of negative undertones today. This has made me sad because normally most posters are so supportive and upbeat. (No I haven't just been reading rants, lol). I came to my fav threads: the parenting and tea room to shake some if it off. Thanks again.

LOL! So do tell, was there anything under the sheets
One day my husband commented that our youngest son (he's 3) had pooped and that he smelt like a cow. Our youngest got a big grin and said "MOO!" lolLast edited by vibrantflame; Wed, Jun 27th, 2012 at 08:38 PM.

Such cute stories!
I took my 5 y/o DS to Disneyland at the end of May and as you could imagine he was over the top excited/overwhelmed. My sister and her DD (who is the same age as my DS) wanted to go on all the rides and since they met the height requirements my sister and i were excited and headed straight for Splash Mountain. After waiting in line for 20 mins we got to our 'log' and my DS said, "I don't think I want to do this." I just picked him up and plopped him down in the seat and said "you will love it!". So after the ride we were all deciding what to do next when my ds (with a excited tone to his voice) said "Mommy, I am so happy I am five and can go on all these big kid rides...but you know what Mom? Splash Mountain was so much fun I almost pooped in the log."
It took my sister and I about 5 mins to compose ourselves and congratulate him for going on a 'Big Kid' ride. That sentance made the whole trip so worth it!!
Here is the pic...we are the first 4 people on the 'log':

At almost three, my son found a cowboy hat in his closet and came out wearing it.
"Oh, look! You're a cowboy!" I said.
He paused, seemingly confused, then looked me in the eye, and said, "Moo."

This week, my three-year-old has decided that he likes telling me that he's "too sick" to do whatever he doesn't want to do. (He's not sick) Anyway, after being told for the eighth time in the last two days that he was too sick to do what I was telling him, I asked, "So, what are you sick with? What's wrong?"
He stepped closer, and pointed at his face. "Look at my eyes," he said, tucking his chin and looking up at me, his finger still pointing at his face, "they're blue."

Minou, I think you have quite the introspective young man there... watch out!
Those of you with little ones - write this stuff down! I always said I would and never did, and honestly, you really do forget so many of them.... because newer memories take places of older ones.
One of the oddest things my son said when he was three. I had taken him to a salon to get his hair cut, he was done and we were paying and chatting with the workers. My husband then walked into the salon - we were in a small city, he saw my car there (on a main street) and just stopped in to say hi during his work day.
So he comes up to where my son and I were, and my son tells the woman who cut his hair - in a very grown up way, introducing him - "And this is my mom's husband..."
Well, duh, he's also YOUR DAD!
It was the funniest thing; don't know why he got it into his head to say it that way, instead of saying it was just his dad.

I could write a book with the antics my youngest son has done in his life. If I had him first, he surely would have been an only child.
Here's another story: it was a Sunday and my husband and I were still in bed. All of a sudden, we get this plaintive call from the older boy (3 1/2 at the time) "Mom...dad...Alex has food!". We are still mostly asleep, so we ignore it. He calls out a couple of more times and then he starts to sound a bit more frantic: "Mom...Alex has food!!!!".
I jab my husband awake and send him downstairs to check it out. He calls me down right away. It seems the younger son, barely two at the time, had managed to open the fridge door (which didn't have a handle, it was more a lip that ran from top to bottom - have no idea how he opened it). He'd taken out the package of Crisco and was "buttering up" his brothers toes with it. The older son was sitting on the couch with feet sticking out and, for the life of me, don't know how the couch remained unscathed.

A couple of years ago, I went on vacations with my sister and her family. Once after lunch, I took a chocolate sundae but I ask for 2 spoons so I can share it with my niece (how was 2 1/2 at this time). Has we were eating it, my niece keep trying to go away with the ice cream so her mom keep tell her to share. Since that day, she is now 6, she doesn't want to sit next to me went we eat because I'm apparently always "stealing her food and her mom always ask her to share with her aunt even if she doesn't want to".
On the same trip, we saw a man unrolling a sleeping bag on a bench in a park. My brother-in-law said it was sad to see this. "What daddy?" "That man is homeless. He doesn't have a home to go to". "Oh! Like Tante Annie and Oncle Stéphane!" So that day, we learn that, apparently, DH and I are homeless because we leave in an appartment and not a house.Hi! I'm a shopaholic... hum no, scratch that, I'm a dealaholic!!!
