Any mom out there with toddler son who is obsessed with her boobs?

Everytime I'm changing clothes, DS would come and cling to my bare legs, arms and hands stretched up trying to reach my boobs. I don't let him of course. Even when I'm just changing a skirt or pants, he would hug my bare legs, or if my tummy is exposed, he would try to touch/hug or bury his head in it. He's been craving skin to skin contact since he's a baby.
He's only 2 so I don't think there's any harm in changing clothes in front of him. I don't do it intentionally, only happened that he came into my bedroom while I didn't expect him to. But I'm thinking maybe it's time to close the door if this is not normal. I also brestfed till he was around 16 months.

you recently stopped nursing and he still wants them for comfort on top of regular food. that would be the #1 thing i'd guess. its hard for a toddler to give up anything he's been connected to physically multiple times a day for a year and a half without withdrawal.

the skin to skin comment maybe something related to a sensitivity issue.. or he needs a 'security' item. blanket/toy he can count on when hes upset, sad etc. maybe take him shopping (even to a $store) and explain its time to pick out a new .... whatever he may call your nursing.. and explain that this new item will now be what he gets if he wants comfort instead of mom or mommies' milk.
it won't be easy. eventually he'll understand if your consistent in redirecting him to that object every time he does the above and soon he'll forget all about you. or the 'girls'.

I don't think it's at all unusual, but I think it's a sign to start being more modest with him around. That's about the age I started with my son.

Yeah, avoid exposing too much now. He's beginning to notice "differences". For the last year or so, any time my now three-year-old son has seen any bare skin on either me or his dad (wearing shorts after wearing pants all winter or short sleeves or a tank top after wearing long sleeves, for example), he shrieks with laughter with the realization that we, too, have skin under our clothes, rushes over, and says, "tickle, tickle!"

(Of course, he's beginning to tell his dad to put on a shirt if he sees him without one!)

As you can see, even Natalka's cats are into modesty!

i nursed ds#1 until he self weaned at 2 1/2 years. since i am often alone with both kids and don't want to leave ds#1 unattended every few hour for 30-45 minutes i nurse ds#2 in the room ds#1 is in. (honestly he rarely ever notices because hes playing with toys or watching tv.

the other day ds#2 woke up from his nap and started whining a bit. ds#1 comes over starts pulling at my nursing bra saying "open". i asked why and he said "baby milk" so i asked "you want me to feed the baby?" and he very seriously said "yes!". it was very cute.

like others have mentioned before it is a comfort thing that he had every day for most of his life. babies and toddlers are very attached to their mothers so the clinging is normal too. personally i would see how he reacts to you closing the door if hes fine with a it then that's good. however if hes overly stressed and scared i would give it a bit more time. he might be ok in the other room while you change with the door open a crack(so he doesn't hear the door close but still needs to push it open to get in). and don't over react if he does walk in. you can use it as an opportunity to teach privacy and modesty. but you don't want him to think nudity is a really bad dirty thing as that can affect him when hes older and it could also make him have poor body image. (I hope I'm saying this in a way that makes sense)

i have an obsessed boy who BF til 2.5.

it's in his genes. hubby did the exact same thing, and as an older child would tease his mom about her 'girls'. my son is the same.

i thought i was alone in this, thanks for the thread

its fine, its normal. Babies, and yes a 2 year old is still a baby, need skin-to-skin contact. If you don't want him touching your breasts, then gently teach him that those are not for touching, which could be a little confusing because it was fine when he was breastfeeding not that long ago. Don't forget that breasts have been a great source of comfort for most of his life. My 2.5 yo will stick his hand down my cleavage if he anxious. Sometime my 4.5 yo will too. I just gently remove the hand and tell them to please not put their hands there. Its not a big deal, I don't get stressed about it. Humans crave contact, but we do need to teach our kids some manners.

Perfectly normal. Mine are still obsessed with my boobs, they are 4 & nearly 6. But they are very close to their Aunt and also obsess over hers too. Now they don't try to touch them much, but will if we're tickling. They also giggle at my bras. I don't make a big deal of any of this and think it will go away on its own. I'm quite open with being naked and don't make a big deal of bodies. To me, they are just natural and nothing to take interest in.

    Thanks all for your input.
I don't even have boobs! They're deflated because of breastfeeding

I have a niece when she was around 2 yrs old, she's like to touch her mum's boobs during the night, especially the nipples.
Once she slept next to me and I felt someone touching my boobs, thought it was DH! lol
She also touched her dad's nipples thinking it was her mum's lol. Got her dad giggling all night ahha.

I was just about to come here and post a similar post lol. I have two boys and they've never really been interested in the "girls"....they were both formula fed though. Sometimes they do see us when we're getting dressed. We've taught them though all about private areas and not to touch them. Still, my 5 year old last night was kissing various parts of my face (i.e can I kiss your eyebrows, can I kiss your chin, etc.) and then asks me if he can kiss my breasts. Awkward! But I just reinforced that those are private and he can't touch them. I think it's just curiosity.

    LOL
that's too funny. Smart little guy, starts from the top to make his way down. lol

DS's latest favourite part to touch are my love handles. When he would cling to my legs from behind, he would bury his face in my ass. *sigh*

    HAH.
Read my mind on this question. Only mine is a bit different.
I have never breastfed DS (who is 16months), but over the past few weeks he has been obsessed with my boobs. He will peek down my shirt, pull my shirt down, squeeze and sometimes even try to bite them! The other day he poked my grandfathers wife in the boob and ran away, and a few days later he was squeezing my aunt's boob. I can understand why breastfed babies would find attachment to breasts but I can't understand why all of a sudden (especially so young) a formula fed baby would express such interest in them. lol.

Mine just turn three and still is curious! He doesn't grab at them, but he has a thing for trying to pull @ my shirt. Rarely, he also tries to put his head between them. Funny thing though, when he wants comfort- he rests his hand in my armpit. It is funny to hear him say "I want your pit!!!.... Please."

I don't know if breastfeeding made a difference for us, we did that until about 14 months. But DS does enjoy lying on me and putting his head on my chest. He's even said he wishes I were fatter so I'd be squishier and there would be more of me to hug! Trust me, I'm more than fat enough.

DS is six, and we still don't make much effort to cover up when he's around when we're getting dressed, showering, etc., and he gets dressed in the morning in our room. I don't shower with him anymore (his Dad does), but he certainly sees me without clothes. We're probably not the standard here, but I don't think there's anything wrong with that, that's just how we are. Not like I walk around the house naked or anything, but we're fairly open about our bodies. I know that as he matures I'm going to start making some privacy boundaries; I haven't figured out the age yet that makes it is inappropriate to me.

My 19 month old girl is crazy for boobs! I have desperatly trying to stop breastfeeding and if I change in front of her she tries to grab me etc.
With my son when I stopped breastfeeding it was never an issue. He asked a few times why it's only mommy who can feed his sister, but that's about it.
