Small town news story. Business owner vs extreme couponer (i know you didn't use one but that's gonna be the coverage)
Guarandamnteed the towns going to side with the business owner. They would in my town in a heartbeat. I personally don't want any negative coverage concerning couponers. Right or wrong, it has a negative impact on us all.

Cut your losses. Take the 50 and carry on.

but again I didn't clear any shelves. I made sure that there was a lot there and would be a lot left over after I was done. They had me confused with someone else. This promo was a Kraft promo as well Kraft paid for it. I completely understand the limits and the fact that they had to change the promo I get that for sure. However the way I was treated/ talked to and then asked not to come back was very upsetting to me.
Yeah , they should have been more professional about it. The 50 GC is probably their way of admitting to their unprofessional behaviour and probably their way of apologising to you

I don't think they should ban you either , but I think they should still let you shop In that tore, but should limit the amount you are buying to reasonable household consumption..so that everyone is happy.

Keep in mind that you were asking to be able to purchase over limits. They want to make sure that the sale items are available to everyone, as those loss-leaders bring people into the store. Remember, too, that any donation you were doing was going to be costing Shoppers money, so they probably wouldn't be too keen on having you go over the quantity limits to buy crackers that you wouldn't really be paying for in the end. They may have confused you with other people, but the shopping strategy was the same, and I'm sure a lot of people there were tired of seeing what they viewed as exploitation of the promotion, badly planned though it was. The long discussion with a staff member probably just made you more memorable, resulting in the letter.

If you want to make a donation, maybe the $50 gift card could be used to buy crackers for the food bank? I'm not sure that the community would be all that sympathetic if the whole story ended up being published. Are you sure that you're really banned from the store following the letter with the $50 gift card?

There were no limits placed until I asked if I could do one for the food bank FYI. I am not banned anymore the letter sent but every couponer is now restricted in that store, even though I didn;'t use coupons. So I can go in if I don't shop past 930 at night and can only use 10 coupons. Now with that being said they have the bonus redemption days on Dec 1 and 2 (Rumor) and I have enough for four redemption. I think I would get asked not to shop there again if I did the redemptions in that store. Which I am not. I am really liking your guys feed back good and bad everyone is offering some really good feed back thanks so much.

Oh if you're not banned anymore than my previous statement about the calling the local paper will not fly. That would've been your news hook, but otherwise,a store limiting coupons happens every day and is non-news. Take the $50 and let it go. Unfortunately people will label you the "crazy coupon lady" if you're fighting publicly about that policy and will make comments about how you need to deal with limits. Sounds like people there are already gossipy as it is

Sorry, I misunderstood about the coupons. I agree that everything is much more expensive at Shoppers and that being able to redeem points makes it worthwhile. I don't shop there anymore so I don't really know much about these redemption promotions. I'm glad they offered you a gift card. Take it!!

At least I think that is what the letter up top is telling me. I copy and pasted it. I am pretty sure they are saying I can go back?

I would take the $50 and take my business to a different SDM, but that is just me, there are 3 in my small town, and if one of them did that I would be more than happy to go to the other locations without hesitation. I have been pretty lucky since all the ladies at each SDM are super pleasant and actually like seeing people get a good deal

My opinion on this is that your complaint should be about the customer service, both the way the front shop was talking about you as you returned to the store after a purchase, and the supervisor who advised to be happy with your points. Those are unacceptable with regards to customer service, and I believe those are the situations worth noting here. For these, I would accept a GC and move along.

I would lose it, wow. I'd ask them to please, f-ing humor me and go back to that day and look at the security tapes. Follow me backwards from the till through the store and YOU DAMN WATCH HOW MANY SHELVES I CLEARED.

I'd be so livid. I have no words. I would be so angry.

I would first make the above ^ happen, and if they still didn't apologize like mad, I'd write that letter.

Unfortunately, stores only keep tapes for a couple of weeks .

My local store counts anything more than 4 per customer as 'wholesale shopping' which sdm does not allow. It is why I never shop there, 4 of some things is fine but I can't grab 4 different bags of cat treats?

The fact is, even if you didn't physically clear the shelf, you did take more than personal use which is what sdm is set up for and they are well within their rights to limit you since they knew you had already taken advantage or limit the whole store.

I would take the $50 and be happy and just shop at a different sdm where they are not as rigid on rules. The three near me vary widely on limits and coupon rules

The choice is yours, BUT I personal would not take it. I would send a letter off to them saying how you were treated was not professional and how you will never shop their again and will look into your legal options. I would than do a newspaper article about yuor experience, because, it was not you in the first place!!! Also, they should treat customers with respect and be happy your shopping there and that you are donating to a great cause. I say lawyer up and stick it to them.

I don't understand what a lawyer would accomplish. The OP was not charged with anything, the store has a right to refuse to take or to limit coupons, and even has the right to refuse service. She was certainly treated rudely, and there was a therefore a goodwill gesture made with the $50 gift card. Spend $125+ per hour on a lawyer? I think I would accept the gift card and find somewhere else to shop.
    So many coupons....so little time!

First off they are blaming her for something someone else was doing, with no proff that it was her. Show me on your cameras that I am the lady who cleared the shleves. Also, your talking bad about customers infront of other customers. You are also accusing me of the only one who is doing what others are doing as well? It is called being discriminated against because of the way she shops. BUT other people in her town do the same thing? So to just attack one person is not right.
