Like the others I'm pretty sure, it was not a question about if I could help but how I will help. And it was a pleasure to do it.

well wishes and prayers puts the actions into God's hands, but you ladies did your own actions by stepping up big time, with real supplies to help this couple out. No dry eyes here either after I read your post arielmac!

tears here too, you guys are amazing. It never ceases to amazes me how quickly an SCer will step in in a time of need and I can only imagine how blessed this family must feel.

Wow, how wonderful you all are to help out!
I know how trying a time it can be; my husband broke his back on the job many years ago (he's relatively fine, now!) - and we would have been overwhelmed... as I'm sure that family was!
Wondering why he can't go on workman's comp? If not that, how about EI?
Wishing him all the best with his recovery!

I realize that you said he worked for himself, but sometimes guys get their own insurance - medical/disability, plus they can pay into EI when self-employed.
Regardless, hoping they are able to make out okay. You angels are really awesome!

Wow! I love reading these stories. This is a story that should be leaked to the media. This is what couponing is all about for alot of us. The "give back" ability from couponing is amazing. You guys rock! Great job!
Just joined Kiva.org, an organization that funds micro-loans to people in developing countries. I love the idea that the $25 I saved in groceries can be given to a fish woman with 5 children in the Philippines to help grow her business.
