Sending you lots of well wishes. It's a long journey but great that you are starting early! I've seen some parents wait until 5-6 which isn't fair to the child.
My son is 18 months and I just had his first assessment. I knew the signs because of DD and what we went through so I referred him early. Doctors wont do it until 18months but parents can do it earlier. I referred him at 14 months, so it took 4 months for him to get in. Even now he has to wait until February to get in and actually have appointments.
My daughter was 22 months when she had her assessment and 25 months for her first appointment. She's turning 4 next month so the 2 years of speech therapy have really helped!

I used to decorate on Dec 1st but now I wait until after DD's birthday.
At least outside is festive. We had the house lights up last week and just put up these new walkway lights I bought today. I also got a nice wreath for the door.
It's our first year in the city (no sense decorating when we were in the country) so we'll have to slowly build our outside decorations over time. I'm hoping to get some big lawn displays on Boxing Day!

thanks Lola.. it is a struggle. there are times he's not understood. he's asked to repeat again. and s.l.o.w.l.y he actually has a 'girl'friend right now who's quite persistent about him speaking properly. its a mixture of laziness that he doesnt' want to try enunciating and part always in a rush to talk as he doesnt' want to forget what he wants to say or excitement. also a huge part is the roof of his mouth is more formed in a v than an upside down c. if that makes sense. not a whole lot of room for his tongue to move around and form words. on top of a partial hearing loss.

my little man is also being assessed by the school for speech therapy as did my older son.
my eldest couldn't make the "R" sound at all and he finally figured it out about a year ago.
my littleman has a lisp and mumbles.
nothing serious but they offer it through the school so why not

its awesome when schools are on board Bub.. i had to literally fight for a ST for my son in highschool. they sent me a 'free' therapist who literally told me my son was wasting her time as he was one of 'those' teenagers who doesn't want help.. really ? she ended up basically ending their sessions early. they did nothing.

Hi all! Wonderful news for your DD Lola... and JK, WOW! Where the heck does the time go eh? I had Hayden's parent teacher interview the other day and he's doing really well... I'm so proud! He LOVES school
Christian is doing really well at school too. I almost punched his father in the face though... when I called Christian last week to ask him about his report card he said it wasn't very good... he brought me a copy of it when he was here this past weekend and it's full of good stuff! He said his Dad told him it wasn't very good because he didn't get any E's (Excellent's) on it... who the heck says that to a child????? Poor little guy
I told him I was very proud of him for trying his best so I hope that took the sting out of what his father said to him
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur... happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr purr purr
