Niagara Falls 101 years ago!
Her mother had a cousin living in Niagara Falls that year. She told
the family that she and her neighbours woke up in the night feeling
something was wrong. It took a while but they finally realized that it
was the lack of noise.

They had all become so used to the roar of the falls that the silence
was unusual enough to alert their senses. Of course at that time
nearly all the houses were near the falls.

I am thankful my eldest sons dental surgery went well on Monday. He had a wisdom tooth removed, and other than some pain, he seems to be fine. He is autistic, and DH and I were worried about how he would be at the hospital, as he has had some severe tantrums in our car (busted the windshield by throwing a dollar store piggy bank at it, surprisingly the piggy bank didnt break!!!) and at home (broke some furniture and made holes in the walls). But the dentist knew about him and prescribed some meds for him to take before we left home, and they seemed to work great as we were able to get an iv hooked up to him, and he walked off with the dentist and nurses for the surgery. He had all his cavities dealt with, and the dentist removed a wisdom tooth that was in bad shape. I hope that after all that, I am praying his tantrums will be reduced. I dont know what we can do if his tantrums continue.

Lil, I don't know much of anything about autism, but thank goodness your son's dental problems have been successfully dealt with. One would think, in this day and age, and this is only my thoughts, that there would be medication that would control such aggressive behaviors or outbursts. I don't mean to over-medicate children, just that goodness.....can't something help him?

I am thankful that I have lost 1.5 pounds this week (loose new years resolution to lose some weight). Its gonna be my 25th high school reunion this summer and I want to go, but not in my current size.

Yay for me!!! 1.5 pounds less of me so far! Yippee!!!

Thankful everyone showed up early for their exam today so we started early and everyone was finished with 30 minutes to go. Means I finished with an extra 45 spare minutes in the day!
