Are the schools open as usually today or did the teachers strike? Isn't it lonely when the kidlets are off to school. Funny, we can't wait for school to start to get things back to quiet, then once they go, we miss them like crazy....alas, that's moms for you

Good morning friends! What a difference in the weather- it was close to +10 to +12 all weekend and it 's back to being below 0 this morning I'm ready for spring already, enough of this winter crap!!!

Oy, it was so funny watching the weather, how different it is all across the country - you guys basking in the warmth, and we're in the deepfreeze. But, wait, we're not done yet - end of Jan, beginning of Feb is time for the -40s. It's always a zillion degrees below on my birthday the end of Jan - ick!

School is in session and things are back to normal... as I understand it, the new bill that was passed prevents the teachers from striking. Little guy was super excited to go back today (he was home Friday and then the weekend)- they're having a pj and popcorn party in his class today I wish they would do more fun stuff like that, especially in the kindergarten classes!!

I never taught K as my own class, but once subbed for three weeks, and I had just a blast! It's such a great age!

moring everyone! we had a busy weekend here. friday dd2 had her speach therapy appointment - she's made huge HUGE improvements but is still a bit behind. we'll need to work with her a bit. decided friday afternoon i'd had enough looking at 'builders beige' paint in my hallway so i went to home hardware and got my SIL's can of oops paint she'd set aside for $12. its called 'buckwheat' - so pretty! stripped the wallpaper going down the 2 walls and DH mudded/sanded/primed it last night. we're going to do 'picture frame mouldings' on the bottom and paint it all out a creamy/white. i cant wait, it'll look stunning.

the kids are colouring in dd1's room... i'm scared to see what exactly dd2 is colouring on lol. dd1 never coloured on anything but paper..dd2 is a different story. everything is fair game lol. dh is still sleeping, he's on afternoons this week and doesnt come home until 3am. maybe when he gets up we can go get some trim and do a little bit of that.

i've been saving little cracker boxes for the kids (and myself) to decorate as their valentines mail boxes to hang on their bedroom door. last year we did it and i put a card in them, a little stuffy, v-day necklaces and some candy. they were so excited when they woke up. maybe today we can decorate them. dd1 has been stockpiling her crafts in her hiding spot in her room to put in her sisters and her daddys 'mail box'. so cute

my coffee is pretty well done, so i should get up and get doing stuff. i keep telling myself i'm going to tackle my kitchen cabinets and organize/throw out some of the plastic containers. might make a meatball soup for dh to take to work for dinner this week.

I always buy the boys a few things for valentine's day Usually a new stuffy, some chocolates, a card, and stickers or an activity book of some kind.

I like the idea of a special meal! I won't have oldest DS for Valentine's day so I'll probably make one of little guy's favorite meals... probably spaghetti and meatballs I usually make some heart shaped sugar cookies too.
