Abby, make sure whatever lawyer/paralegal you use, have them put in the papers that HE is to pay for all your legal costs associated with the split. He is the one that actually left the home, so have him pay the fee's (even if you wanted him gone). It is done quite often, but I have seen friends who got divorced and their lawyer FORGOT to put that in the papers That way, even though you have had to pay money out of pocket up front, you will (hopefully) be able to recover that money at some point.

Thanks for the advice He is not being fair or civil right now and he is the one that wants this! So I feel I need one to protect my assets and my rights. I think he would like to see me come out with nothing...he says that is what I deserve

Well, you deserve and are entitled to half, regardless of what he thinks or says.

Stand firm, and do not sign anything that gets you anything less than what you are entitled to.
Some men seem to think that they can bully the woman so that they walk away with less (not just men, women are the same).

I personally would make a list of all assets and pre-separation debts. Then I would cut everything down the middle and tell him what you want and ask him what he wants then ask him if he wants to be an a$$hole and pay a lawyer $500 an hour to do the same darn thing, or if he wants to come to his senses.
When it comes to the house, this may be a sticky situation. If you want to keep it, and he agrees, you will have to qualify to take over the mortgage, plus you will have to buy him out, unless you offset that buyout with other assets that he can have, like RRSPs or something.
It all depends on what you negotiate.

And do not let him take anything else out of the house that is not HIS, like his clothes.

Good morning everyone!!!
Just went back from my blood test..Now I will have to wait for the results in 1 week or 2...
They open at 7:00 and I was there at 7:30...kicking myself for not beeing there at 7 :00 because the numbers of people was incredible....In life you can never be too early..
I bring myself back a breakfest(not feeling for cooking)...will enjoy it an after will see how the day will goes.

I'm back and my net is better than ever lol..got the 20 Mbps net and just did a speed test and it showed 19.30Mbps which is fine lol. Appointment for eastlink was set to be between 8.30am and noon and the installer was here at 8.35am. He was just wrapping up around 9am and I got a call and after he was like I bet that was eastlink calling to confirm right? Yup. He says a little late aren't they.

Watching CNN and they're talking about the us postal service cutting first class mail delivery on Saturdays but parcel service will continue. Just funny thing the host says they will be cutting Saturday mail delivery on Saturdays. Really I thought they would cut Saturday mail delivery on tuesdays. Just me being a pain lol.

Just a side note on dental work: University dentistry schools usually charge about 1/2. Yes, they are supervised. I have not been to one but several friends have.
