Just an aside - I always lock the bathroom door - whether husband and/or son is home, and even if I'm alone... is that so odd?
The cats have already broken the downstairs door trying to get in when I do "DARE" to close it on them

Then of course there's the kids........

This story gets stranger and stranger. The lead detective is now being charged with attempted murder in a separate case (not sure why he was still on active duty?):

As for locking bathroom doors, I only do so if I'm at someone's place or I have human company. I don't bother if I'm alone with the brats or another non-human. I do, however, close the door to give the brats a chance to practise their round-doorknob opening skills.

Interesting how the SA system works so differently - all these days just for a bail hearing...

yup, when i wake up in the middle of the night and hear a noise, i always assume it is an intruder, and not the ppl i live with.

    doesn't everyone?

don't most ppl automatically pick up a handgun and shoot to kill when faced with having to wait to use the bathroom? darn door locks.

    Released on bail today.
Magistrate Desmond Nair set the bail at 1m rand (£73,000) and said Pistorius must hand over his passports and also turn in any other guns he owns.
The magistrate also ruled he could not return to his home, where the killing of Steenkamp took place.

Pistorius is not scheduled to be back in court until 4 June.
