I don't think any province has anything to be proud about Those numbers are obscene.

I did not think that it was fair to brand a whole province negatively, when some parts of a province may be healthier than others.

When they do or report these studies, I really wish they would distinguish between how they use the words overweight/obese. There's a really big difference between them.

In Ontario I guess we measured up better than the worst Province, but like Patty says, no bragging rights. The first time I was offended by that word obese was on a medical chart....and it was MINE!! I just glanced at it and freaked out at that word! The numbers are the numbers ( my being short for my weight and all at that time, lol) and the Dr. would not have put that word in there if I did not qualify. Since then I think I am considered overweight now instead.

this is always an interesting topic.
funny Seinfeld clip!
Patients actually have every right to view their medical charts thanks to the SOC (1992).
"In most provinces and territories the legislation which governs the administration of hospitals specifically gives patients a legal right of access to their own hospital records, although the exact procedure for exercising this right tends to vary across Canada. In the case of health care outside of hospital (eg, treatment given in a general practitioner's office), until 1992 it was not entirely clear if patients had a legal right to see their own medical record. However, in that year the Supreme Court of Canada issued a landmark decision which affirmed that patients do indeed have this right. According to the Supreme Court, the doctor (or other health-care provider) is the owner of the actual written record, but the patient has a right of access to the information contained in it. That right stems from the "fiduciary" nature of the relationship between doctor and patient; the relationship is based on trust, and imposes on the doctor obligations of utmost good faith and loyalty towards the patient, and a duty to act in the best interests of the patient. Thus, patients have a right to see (and, if they wish, copy) their own medical record. "

The only thing I take issue with is the criteria regarding "snacks". Snacks are an integral part of my weight-loss; it steadies my blood-sugar since I tend to be hypoglycemic. I choose healthy snacks of no more than 100 calories, and usually fruit or yogurt. Their word "snacks" is off-putting and pretentious to me.
Had they said unhealthy snacks, that's a different kettle of fish. But they didn't.

Agreed. Snacking is what keeps me from eating the weight of a horse at dinner. Snacks are not bad. They type of snack could be. I usually snack on yogurt or apples throughout the day. Although, I'm currently snacking on some cookies lol but I like to have my unhealthy snacks in the morning so it gives me more time to burn off those calories.
