Good morning my dear friends, I'm so sorry I haven't been here to cheer you all on, I've sort of been....indisposed, LOL . Anyways I'm back and have started reading back through a few posts. I. Just want to say that I think that each and every one of you is doing fabulous. You are all trying and that's what counts.

curt81, I'm worried about you Hun, I read your post and I see a lot of pain in them. I feel for you as I know what it's like to set a goal for the week and then. Not attain it. I'm there now, and in ord for me to get out of jail, I have to gain weight yet again. I too get very tired of never quite reaching. The goal, then feeling so guilty about it. Hun, I'm here if you just need to talk, and to tell you, don't beat yourself up about it, we can only do our best. Have you spoken to a dr about your slump. Your posts lead me to believe that you are suffering from depression of some sort. It's nothing to be ashamed of. You're having a real difficult time right now, with not being able to find suitable employment and trying to eat right on very little money. If you haven't, please talk to your dr, they may be able to help you out. AND, just know that we are all right here, cheering for you. We're in your corner!

Curt....I can honestly say I feel the same way about disappointing people by starting diets, not losing, being depressed about being fat, re-starting, then repeat the whole process over again....it's taken YEARS for me to finally make the decision NOT to disappoint everyone again. I guess my final wake-up call was how quickly my best friend of 25 years got struck with ALS. She went from a friend who was up for anything I thought of doing, to someone who now is confined the sofa, bed, or wheelchair.
I know it had nothing to do with her weight (she was a size 3 while I was a 22!), but realizing how much I have to be thankful for in terms of my health...just being able to walk for heaven's sake! To go wherever I want to even if it's in the house..to the street, to eat real food, to speak.
I just can't let those gifts dwell in a body that can't take advantage of all that! I also have a grandson and like you and your daughter, I want to BE here for him for as long as I can. At my age, anything can happen, so I'm not kidding myself that I have another 20 years or whatever (who can know that, really?), but I'm going to do my damnest not to squander the blessings I have so far retained. I visit nursing homes and see people MY age in them, incapacitated for one reason or another, and it's absolutely terrifying!
You're young. You have so many years ahead of you...if you don't want to continue disappointing people, then stop. Use the rest of us as examples, with our bad knees, backs, all our aches and pains and be grateful for the young body you have, and treat it with respect.
You owe it to your daughter to have a young, healthy dad, but you also owe it to yourself to care enough to live as long as you can...you have no idea what opportunities are in your future...but only a healthy individual can take advantage of them.

We're in your corner, Curt...you're doing well! You've lost weight already! Keep going, and like Holly said, we're all here for each other, through good and bad, and you know I've had some yucky times on here, too.....I don't know how long I've got on this earth, but I'm going to FINALLY take better care of myself. You have LOTS of time to live a LONG and healthy life!!!

    Good luck, Hon!!!

Not worth worrying about. I've been in a slump for the past 13 years, lol. Yes, depression along with my diagnosed generalized anxiety disorder, even though I'm pretty sure I have socialized anxiety disorder. I've been to the doctor. All is done is medication... well I can't afford it, don't like it or trust it. Have done Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and talking to a shrink. None helped. Whatever happens will happen. It's fine.

Don't waste time worrying about me. Glad you're out of the hospital. Hope you're feeling much better.

Thank you Lynn and my body isn't so young anymore, considering some pain I've been experiencing in my knees and occasional discomfort in my back.

Curt.....you're SO young, Sweetheart...I hate to sound like an 'old person', but Honey..you don't know from pain!!!
I probably did a lot of damage to my back from carrying my weight around my middle. I could have maybe avoided the predicament I'm in now with my back and knees.
YOU don't have to get where I am!
YOU can change things right now.
Believe me......when you're my age (god willing) you'll look back at the you that you are right now and say, "WHY the hell didn't you DO something when you could??!!"
Sucks to feel like that, Hon........

So, feeling very bloated, not sure why. Could be the humidity and all the water I have been drinking since I have been working out side for the last few days.

Haven't gained any weight, hopefully with the break in humidity I will feel better this week.

Good morning everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. I was busy with visits from friends and relatives alike, and got lots of rest. I gain 1/2 pound So very proud of myself.

Curt, you are worth worrying about....you are worth a lot more than you think you are, to all of your family, and friends, and it does hurt me to listen to you day after day, struggling to attain what you think you want. Listen up .... LIFE IS WORTH LIVING, not matter what state our bodies may be in, we need to embrace life, family and friends. Lean on them and let their strength prop us up when we don't have the strength to do it ourselves. Honey, you need to give your head a shake and wake up to this wonderful world around us, and these wonderful people here in the community. We all care about you, as does your family. You need to stop the pity party and start taking charge of your own health. You're a wonderful person with a lot to give. Your daughter needs you. Just think of how she would feel if you weren't here anymore.

I almost lost my chance to be here with my family and friends and had to fight like hell to get back here, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I love life and am not ready to ever give up on it and neither should you. Find the strength within yourself that is there, grab hold of it and don't ever let go. Your a great guy and you deserve the very best. We do worry, and you won't ever change that. Instead of focusing on all the negative, try focusing on just one positive in your life, your daughter. Tomorrow, focus on another positive, and just keep going, one day at a time. Life is here for us to grab...............

Sorry your feeling bloated patty, with the warm weather and humidity, it just makes a person feel all that much more bloated and sticky. Hope you lose the bloat and admire all that lovely yard work you've accomplished in the past few days...pics????

I see your struggles, Holly and it breaks my heart to see a young person feeling so sorry for themselves! GOD! If they ONLY KNEW what they have right now! Not tomorrow, not yesterday, but right NOW! Curt's not fighting cancer. He's not hospitalized. He can move, walk, isn't confined to a hospital bed, and yet feels sorry for himself. Such a damn shame. He'll look back on these years one day and wonder what the hell he was DOING with his young life!

Curt, we do care about you, but this constant and incessant 'pity party' you keep hosting for yourself has got to be released. Nothing works? Bullcrap! Then find the strength within yourself to get well! Use someone else's story for inspiration! So many had much less than you and worked their way out. YOU CAN DO IT!
But you know what, Curt? You REALLY, REALLY have to WANT to.
Otherwise.....you'll continue to go through the motion of existing. Not living. Your daughter needs you and the older she gets, the more she'll need her daddy there. If you don't care about yourself.....how much do you care about HER?

    You can do this, Curt!!!!!

Danm it!! It's really hard to feel sorry for a person who could care less about life, when someone else is fighting with all that God gave her to just live one more day!!
    REALLY hard!!!

So after battling the hoards at Bonanza this morning(an Italian grocery store, crazy busy), I managed to get the rocks cleaned and put back around 3/4 of the pool. Just have to decide what type of border I am putting on the side with the grass. Initially I had the regular plastic black border but it was finito, so I have some decorative cement blocks I am thinking of putting that. I also got the last 3 planters painted. Now just have the bench and trellis to sand and paint, maybe tomorrow. I am so far behind this year with my outdoor projects. My dad being in the hospital again and other family things and just plain old not enough hours in the day are holding me back lol. I promised Kiera we would get that darn raised bed veggie garden started by the weekend. I wonder if my neighbors would mind me hammering in the middle of the night

Holly, you wonder woman, congrats on the half pound. I am sorry you are struggling again but happy to see you back on here.
