Our bank just jumped our interest by 4% and no one knows why.... We've paid off everything but this last LOC (its half paid off now) and now they are upping the interest... People say its because they aren't making enough money off us... But the bank won't give me an answer - they apparently don't know why (I've been handed off to 3 people in the past week). WTH?

Thanks for the reminder Lola. I need to call my bank to cancel my Home Protector's insurance (it is a garbage policy). I was just approved for life, it was quite the process - 9 months!!! - because I have a benign heart defect...the benign doesn't seem to matter in terms of insurance.
Hope you get your interest down."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

geez Dan you sound like my husband. he checks his emails maybe once a month..he wonders y he has like 10000's of emails, he's not a 'computer' kind of guy.
busy morning here, sorta, didn't get going until lunch. then off to Wm to pick up water for a Fathers day gift.. don't ask. it works.. thats all that matters.. waiting to find out what dh's new work shift is.. then plan the week around it including painting, flooring etc.
a few other projects on the go..
Holly. you take care of yourself. make sure those visitors don't wear you out too much. heck make sure they bring food, massage your feet..

Oh wow! That's quite the run around - 9 months? Geesh!
I'm lucky to have gotten whole life insurance at a really young age. I have plans for my kids also (4, 2). At this point it's insane to get DH whole life insurance (because of his age). They want like $160 a month. eeeeep! So, he has term.
We talked to our insurance person last week and she said that the insurance we have on the house we should cancel - apparently they only pay out 50% of the time. That's a scary thought. Only 50% of the time. So, we upped DH's term and now need to cancel the other (house one).
50-200 a day? Holy hannah! lol

That is the insurance I am cancelling. They probably wouldn't pay out for me because of my heart. We have insurance coverage through my work for everyone. Although it is not bucketloads. DH and got enough to cover the mortgage through term. We considered whole life but decided it wasn't for us and wanted to save another way.
I get 15 emails a day and have trouble keeping up with that."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

Night Dan, hope everyone else is having an amazing Monday. I've had a quiet day, which is nice for a change. Sometimes I just feeling like being quiet and not talking a whole big bunch, so today was nice. Not to many visitors, so I got lots of rest

They make it seem like such a great plan but its really not. I was shocked when I heard they only pay out 50% of the time!
I wouldn't get whole life insurance for myself now. It's way too expensive!
I pay $30 a month and it'll be paid in full in another few years and I'll always have the coverage.
For the kids, we pay less than $40 combined and it'll be paid for by the time they hit 20. So, they will also have that basic coverage.
I'm amazed how many adults with kids have no insurance.

Do you have a mortgage Lola, check that you are allowed to cancel the policy first, some mortgages require it
As far as the interest rate, keep on them, the govt just brought in new rules for them to make interest rates more transparent, they aren't allowed to up them just because they feel like it
