That's just plain mean!! Hmph.
I'm poofy again. My ankles are swollen, have been for a few days....which can mean my BP is up again...I'd better make a concentrated effort to drink lots of water tomorrow. This hasn't happened in a few years!! Gr.Last edited by Lynn49; Mon, Jun 10th, 2013 at 12:41 AM.

Lynn if I am bloated I drink Ginger tea, I dehydrated a whack of ginger and ground it and boy let me tell you it's a natural diuretic. You can use slices also or ginger powder.

You could also just cut up fresh ginger and simmer it in a pot for 15 minutes. It keeps in the fridge for a few days. I make gallons of it. lol

good evening all! Well the weekend came and went with us finally getting some back yard tidying done, ( nothing grandiose like Patty's gorgeous yard though) and as my knee is now fully functioning ( bending it just like Beckham! ) I have been able to tackle some neglected chores indoors as well.
The weight has climbed upwards a few pounds since my last weigh in, but for some reason I was not bothered by it. I guess I was just so grateful to be able to not have that pain and have my mobility back!! Hooray.
I was just reading a few posts in here, Loocie loved your poem and your wagon!, Holly, your camping plans are perfect! Enjoy every sun filled moment!! Lynn that puffiness you spoke of, especially my ankles....oh I get that if I drink too much wine, lol. Congrats Granger on having some alone time with DH and for your 2 lb loss, nice going! Patty, as usual my dear you totally take my breath away with the activities you pack into each day, that recognition you received from the school was well deserved!!
Hoping for some nice warmer temps soon, so we can enjoy the summer here. Best of luck everyone this week!

Good morning everyone. Where do I start.... Patty, congrats on being recognized, you of all people certainly deserve it. You work so darn hard and are always giving to others. I just have one question . . . where do I purchase those batteries that keep you going, Lynn, I'm so happy you enjoyed your time camping this weekend. It's nice to have the peace and quiet, and those wonderful morning smells when you walk with Jenny and it's so peaceful. Granger, you deserve a huge CONGRATS for the weight loss. Keep going, I'm so proud of you. It's so hard in the summer to loose weight, what with all the hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, fresh corn on the cob slathered in butter . . . ok, now I'm hungry WOB, I'm so thankful that your knee has finally decided to get in line with the rest of your body! I'm wishing you many pain free days this summer. Mia, give yourself a break, it's hard to loose weight, especially with the summer upon us, you already said you need to focus a bit more, and that's all it will take, we know you can do it! And my dear friend loocie, you make me laugh every day, but I'm a bit upset . . . you didn't invite me to the pool party Well, I have GREAT news . . . I'm getting outta here today Yep, that's right, just waiting for the blood test results to come back to make sure my infection is gone, then it's homebound!!! I so happy because I have a lots of menu planning to do for next month, plus, I get to sleep in my own bed
We all need a little sunshine every now and then

You know dieting becomes such an encompassing preoccupation,
& you never should feel empty tummy syndrome or the pangs of starvation,
So much of the good stuff is so technically forbidden,
I do think that the balance is there; as sometimes it's hidden,
Sometimes our tummies progress to a state that is soft & droppy,
I blame the reason for this is because I am a known pasta groupie,
Cholesterol, gluten, starches & those oh so naughty car-bo-hy-drates!
It's not easy for us always to watch what we put on our plates,
The best we can do is make our diet a part of our daily routine,
Get daily fresh air & not too much caffeine,
Cuz....you can only eat so many bowls of alfalfa sprouts & chick-a-dee peas,
Now please pass me my tub of extra light & salt free cottage cheese!
but, I would rather..........
