I was wondering if somebody could help me, though: What the HELL do you bake in holiday novelty-shaped pans like these, besides cake?


They call it a cookie pan but idk what kind of cookies I could bake in there that would cook evenly and not come out a mess. We're not really cake people for Christmas, and the only other uses I have are brownies and chocolate or jello molds, I guess. Any other ideas? My mom keeps buying me these darn pans and I have very few uses for them!

I have some of these pans too and i don't know how to use them lol. Every cookie I have made in these comes out looking like a blob.

Maybe try pressing rice krispie squares in them?? I think Scotch shortbread would work too, it is meant to be thick. I find things like this take up a lot of room for something that is used once a year!!

I need gift ideas for a basket.... thinking a cross stiched snowman or santa on a tea towel. , knitted dish clothes. , a few jars of homemade jam, a jar of homemade cinnamon sugar spread. ........ what else...... I think it needs something else. I could do baked muffins, or some buns.... but Leaning towads something else. ..... maybe a small set of plates, and a fancy knife for spreading..... oh, its for a elderly single gentalman, he loves my jam. loves it.

I've never known any one not appreciate a $5 dollars Tim's Card.

I Googled things to make with jam, a few sites said make a vinaigrette, perhaps a small decanter with a recipe?

My grandfather loves handkerchiefs too.

If you bake I would do a nice loaf of home made bread to go with the jam if that is his favorite.

DH comes home and says I have a brag for SC. Wanted to buy one of these for niece for Christmas. New ones are $40-50 depending on the animal so I have been waiting to see them for $30. 50% off sticker at RCSS with a price of 29.99. It rang in at 22.00 so at 50% off cost us OOP $11.



He also got a complicated SCOP (because of a 50% sticker) so we got the one below for free. As you can see we aren't waiting for Christmas as it is already out of the package and my kids are enjoying it (me not so much bc it makes noise, but at a grand total of $11, who cares).

... ok I apologize if there's a thread or something similar to what I'm asking (if there is, could someone point me to it?), but I'm looking for ideas on how to gift from your stockpile, such as Christmas gift baskets? I've decided to do one big basket for my sister's family instead of individual gifts, one for my mother and one for my grandparents. The idea of the pasta dinner basket is great but I did one years ago for my grand parents already. I was thinking family game night for my sister and a woman's night in basket for my mother. But I'm wondering what others have successfully done using mostly items from their own stockpiles (or things we commonly get coupons for, anyway.) TIA!!
