Meal plan for this week...
Monday we all werent feeling well so just had soup for dinner.
Last night DH was away for work training so DS and I cooked up yummy perogies with bacon and onions and sour cream, just like my mom and I used to cook every time my dad went away fishing. Brought back some really good memories and made me cry.
Tonight we are having garlic bread pizza that we were planning on having last week. I just picked up fresh garlic bread at the grocery store and got the pepperonis using my FPC. Hope they are good haven't tried that brand yet!
Tomorrow we are having lemon chicken and potatoes and corn on the cob
Friday we are having pork chops with rice
Not sure what the plan is for the weekend yet. One day we are going to help my aunt with the flooring finally so will probably have dinner there, and the other day we are going to visit in-laws and will have dinner there.

Thank you, I can officially say I am eating again. Not quite normal yet but that now I think it is just the adjustment back. But with great joy I can say no more buns with butter, they were good and all but a week of nothing but buns with butter and I was done, needed more flavour.

Awesome. I'm so glad you're closer to having normal food again.
While LO had her nap in the afternoon, I had a rare moment to make a few calls to our insurance company, our bank, etc. I thought I hated being on hold now, but I absolutely dread those words "Your call is in the queue. We appreciate your patience." I wait on pins and needles for LO to scream and tell me time's up. After waiting to speak with an agent, he put me on hold again while checking my account.
When they say "do you mind if I put you on hold?" I really want to say, "I'm currently on call 24-7. I could be summoned at a moment's notice, with no warning. In case that happens, please wait on the line, as I waited so long to speak to you. When I'm making a service call, make no attempts to speak to me. You will be drowned out, but please continue waiting. I may be gone from anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on what the baby wants."
Currently 16 minutes on hold and counting.... Oh my goodness.... Please hurry.

So we had a lovely time in Kingston need to see how much $ is left, I brought $500.00 spending cash and the leftover $ will be put on the CC to help pay for the room. We arrived Saturday, took the kids swimming at the hotel then we went for dinner and on a haunted walk in downtown Kingston such beautiful architecture, then for a very late supper at East Side Mario's 1/2 price appetizers, there were leftovers which the kids & dh ate for breakfast
we also stopped at 2 flea markets on the way to Kingston & a Hunting & sporting good store. On Sunday we took the kids on the Ferry to Wolfe Island and we were quite disappointed (nothing to do there) and we did not fit on the 1st ferry back to Kingston so ended up having another hour to kill. We were glad to be back in Kingston after that, we took the boys go karting and then to the drive in to see the Smurfs2 and left Monday. So overall a steady but relaxing pace which I prefer instead of the hussle & bussle of traveling.

Now that I am back I am trying to get back into home mode (haha) having to cook. I really need to step up my frugal ways & coupon, pricematching & creative meal planning in September. I want to take advantage of some of the school snacks that will be starting anyday in the flyers (granola bars, drink boxes). I plan to restart my baking schedule in September and eat out of the freezer. DH brought his truck to our trusted mechanic and it needs 2 new tires, front brakes and 2 steering arms. We told the mechanic to go ahead and replace the steering arms & brakes = $800.00 + taxes and then dh wants to get a quote on 2 new tires at C. Tire which is where his friend got his tires and dh was really impressed with their threads & going up the steep hills at the moose camp, hope everyone has a great day & evening. I have my 2nd load of laundry on the line hope they dry before the due sets in. Roasted chicken for dinner, I will be throwing in some potatoes in the roasting pan and then I just need to nuke some EB Veggies (yellow & green beans - OMG these are so good) and make gravy, I love gravy!!!! I will be making myself a hot chicken sandwich smothered in lots and lots of gravy (no carbs - lol).

So mom has hurt her knee and decided not to go to work tonight, kind of a catch 22 for me. I was looking forward to some alone time but also dreading the alone time, I have always been one who needs time to myself but for so long now my alone time was usually been "date time" for us (over the internet since we lived a far distance away) so now it is hard to know I am going home to an empty house and really am spending the night alone. I know sounds very odd as I want both alone time and someone to talk too. SO for tonight I am not alone, mom has to go to bulk barn to get some stuff a wedding cake she has to do so looks like we will go out and pick up dinner, might do a little running around too depending on how mom's knee feels.
I think this week might be a bad grocery week I am already seeing stuff I want and mom can't really say no to me right now because she knows I am sad and so is my tummy so this week might be very bad. In my house upset tummy means give it whatever it wants when it wants it.

Hope your mom's knee heals quickly. Splurge and eat whatever you want and your tummy wants *craves*. Before you know it this will all be a memory. Everyone has bad grocery weeks
some more than others, sometimes it's nice to have those weeks, easy "frozen foods" or fast food is a nice treat from time to time. Maybe your mom being home is a sign, talk to her if you feel comfortable doing so and if not enjoy your supper or outing out together.

Let's see:Today I decided I needed to spoil myself but in a frugal way,I think I deserved with the week I have.So sure I have many body creams but not deluxe ones. And that shop would have been free if the 1$ off coupons in the Facebook page of BodyCology was valid in QC not just in United Stated because theirs products are sold anywhere. That make no sense for me...I wrothe to theirs about that.Anyway I purchase at my SDM 10 cherry Blossom bruim for the body and 2 Body Cream of Cherry Blossom, they where 8,99$(I think they are higher at others places) reduced to 2,99$ and then a manager sticker off 2$ so my total was 12$....the price of a single one.So I saved regular price:108$ sale price:36$ final price 12$...but like I said it could have been free I can stick on that...The others products where not appealling to me or I did not have coupons for those...
After I went to Burger King and got a 5$ giftcard because I was mad they mess with my order.
Also got my 4 got2 be products for free after the coupons and will try to find more cereals with pins .I miss 2 deals this week,so not so bad at all I think. I really hope for more managers stickers on appealing products( cross fingers lindt chocolate)Last edited by cath007; Wed, Aug 21st, 2013 at 08:46 PM.
