Oh, I almost forgot my most memorable role - on Nikita, I was a refugee trudging across the border with a pile of luggage. It was a bitterly cold day & we were down in the portlands (warehouse area with lots of cold windy empty lots). The star of the show (Peta Wilson) was a real trooper - she stayed out in the bitter cold with the lowly extras instead of hanging out in her nice warm trailer. That was impressive.

Well I feel like garbage tonight

It is snowing out and a bit of a storm for those who don't know how to drive in the snow. So I realized around 5ish that I have run out of milk, my husband is out in the west end and may take hours to get home. So I call my neighbours and no one is home. I called my brother in law who works minutes away and he gets it for me. As he is leaving my area some guy hits him as he losses control of the car and runs into my bil. I feel like garbage...I mean he is fine and so is the guy who hit him but his tire is flat and the frame on the drivers rear is ruined. So he is sleeping here now and will use our car til he calls the insurance tomorrow and figures out what is happening.

not your fault amy. we took the rental car out tonight to take ds to awana. it had started to snow, and i looked out, just covered the road. so i said, i guess we can't go (thinking we had our old car that never had snowtires). blair said, no i can drive. so we left. we went (counts..) roughly 6-10 blocks. and it was comming down. we made it up the hill to church to find out awana was cancelled. so we made our way back home. now mind you this is like 5-10 mins tops. we stop off, grab a movie on way home, and then..spun trying to get up the hill. cars all over the road, power was out. it was INSANE.

but it got bad so quickly! same thing happened to me last year when i was on way to tkd. was just fluries, 10 mins later, cars off the road everywhere.

am so glad you BIL is okay. now begins the insurance hassel. what is up will all the accidents lately? everyone plz be safe.

have to ad, the story about the hubby and the moose is 100% true. my version. when he was a young man (i donno how old prolly 20s), he worked at a sawmill. he had to walk 5 miles to get there, through the woods. anyway, he's walking along, and all of a sudden he hears breathing, then snorting. he turns around and there's this HUGE moose bearing down on him. well, luckily my hubby used to be a runner (and had trained for the olympics but can't remember why he didn't go). he takes off running. the moose hot on his trail. and yup. it was a SHE moose. in heat. omg. 5 miles he ran. he said it was the first time ever he got to work on time, so his boss knew something was wrong.

LOL. he can't even walk around the block now.

which story would u guys like to hear next? the derailed train? or the outhouse? or outhouse 2?

Luckily it is no fault insurance in Ontario so it should be painless hopefully. So that means that bil insurance will pay for the damage even though the other guy ran right into him. The only problem is the car is not drivable so he barely got it to my house and leaving it here til the insurance tows it to fix it and gives him a rental.
I do feel bad but I will feel even worse if it means a visit from LOLCAT.

So NS it sounds like you could write a book...I like....tell us more stories mommy

NS I've had a train derail not 25 ft from me, it went flying by and I hear this huge crash and cars start coming off the rails. Scared me spitless, I ran into the bar that I was standing in front of and the music was so loud they didn't hear it. I'm trying to tell them to call 911 the train just hit something on the other crossing and derailed. It'd hit a truck, the driver was pinned under something lost both legs but survived. Then in Boulder Nevada I was getting gas one time and a small airplane crashed right behind the gas station i was at, have no idea if anyone survived that kind of doubt it. Then another trip thru nevada I was on the dam (minds a blank but at lake Mead just south of las vegas, that big dam). On the bridge crossing it and all the traffic stopped. Suddenly all these cops were running all over with big guns. There had been a bank robbery in las vegas and they had the robbers trapped on the dam. Had the kids with me when they were really little, scared the dickens out of me had them on the floor and was covering them with my body.) But no outhouse incidents thankfully or moose ones either lol.

Oh Amy, you poor thing. I know about the guilt factor (my dad was giving me a ride a few years back when an idiot ran the red and hit us - still feel guilty about it, even though it wasn't my fault).

Make sure both you & bil get some rest. The adrenalin can really wreak havoc with your health.

My first car accident (I've had 2 & been a passenger in 3 others), I was making a left turn & hit a patch of black ice. I stopped my little VW & got nailed by a speeder (I got all the blame cause I was 17 & making a left turn).

I went home (it happened a block away) & my mom tried to make me feel better by putting on a movie. As luck would have it, it was Stephen King's Dead Zone. Anyone remember the opening scene where the little VW gets creamed??? I started crying & didn't stop for an hour. That was when I learned the meaning of irony. At least I can laugh about it now.

My other accident, I was dropping off my bf (well, he was more than a bf, but not quite a fiance, turned out to be a twit) at 3 in the morning (those were the days I still had energy to do that). I was a block away when it happened. 2 cars on the road, 1 parked, me driving. As I passed the parked car, the kid pulls out & hits me. I get on my cell to call my bf, & he runs up to me screaming, "No police, it's ok, I'm Catholic." Don't know what religion had to do with it, but it turned out he was joyriding in his uncle's car without permission. Guess he did a lot of praying. In the end, he got my car fixed at his uncle's garage without me having to pay a cent or tell insurance.

I just finished folding the last load of laundry, and man is it snowing like the dickens here! I hope DH has the small shovel in his car, he is going to be digging it out when he leaves work in the morning. It is such a white-out that I cannot see the neighbors across the street.

I should have been in bed ages ago, but it hurts so much when I sleep! My back is killing me this time, and I never had back problems with the other two pregnancies.

Has anyone seen that new show "Eleventh Hour"? It is on Thursdays, and I LOVE it.

I had back pains with the DS, he cause me lots of problems. Anyway I would sleep on the couch on my side with my back pushed into the back of the couch sort leaning on a 45 degree angle.

So CP is still on strick and now we are allowed to only enter and exit from one road. This is so that those people that can't get their butts in early don't have to wait in the line up for 2 hours to get into the complex. I was hoping they would be back in as I wanted to go shopping at lunch. OH well it will have to wait until after work.

that reminds me of a movie, i think keffer sutherland was in it? oh it was like ppl that could see these deaths happening and had to keep avoiding them? does anyone know if that was final destination or sum other movie? they did 2 of them good movie. reminds me of flatliners somehow.

derailed train story.

Hubby's family were large (9 kids i think) and extrememly poor. Now this was oh 40-50 years ago. The lived in the woods, mother baked a dozen loves of bread every week, you get the idea.

(i shoulda told the outhouse one..but anyway)

so dh used to "borrow" stuff from the trains. he also worked on the railway so he knew how to work them. well, one was chock full of flour. so he thought, we'll i can't carry it all..and they lived just down the hill beside the track. so he let the car loose and let it go down the hill.

well, as luck always has it, it jumps the track right infront of the house landing on the front lawn. well wasn't long before the railway officials showed up looking for dh. who was no where to be found..

(this is why i married him, never a dull moment)
