Drat, I'm all alone, though - husband went to a church council meeting.
However, I was snuggling and playing with Taffy the cat on the couch for a while, now I've braved this cold room to be on the computer for a bit to keep me busy since I'm alone.

Hm... wine... there is a bottle we got for our anniversary a few years ago that is just sitting there in the kitchen, minding its own beeswax.
Nah, I'll do with a cuppa!

I do like wine, I do - guess we just really aren't drinkers... I maybe have just a few drinks a year.

early.........My grandson phoned last evening to ask could I please make more oatmeal raisin cookies?... Actually, he said, "Baba...you remember those raisin cookies you made for me last week?", "Well...what would you say if I asked you to make me some more?"...lol...I said that I would be very happy to make them and that I would do so today. Too cute. So that's my big job for today. Yes...retirement is wonderful.....

They're living there this week with the owner, who is there 6 months of the year...Gee...I hope she gets some studying done for the exam she has to write the day after she gets home...
Apparently they're going on an architectural tour today...

He's such a funny little nugget, Natalka...a couple of weeks ago I picked him up from school early because he was sick, and got him all tucked in, on the sofa with grapes and juice, watching a movie. I had very warm socks on, so I pulled up my jeans and began rolling one down.
Picture this: He looks over at me, puts up his little hand and says, "Baba. Don't fidget. You're beautiful anyways, you don't have to fidget." LOL!!! So now whenever I "fidget", I'm reminded how beautiful I am! At least to one little boy....

ps...oatmeal raisin cookies baked, packed and already at his home..thank goodness when our daughter bought this home, it's only about 3 blocks from where we lived, and where they live now. So easy to pop over!

afternoon all. made it out to the dollar store and giant tiger before heading back home... a few more things to pick up tomorrow.
i have everything i need now though to put my christmas planters together.
would like to have all my housework done before tomorrow night. we have an awesome church bazaar to attend on Saturday. can't wait..we always come out with so many great things. we have lunch there and all.
then really hoping dh pulls out all my 4 boxes of xmas stuff out this weekend. would like to have my tree up and my cards done too.
as well as getting my presents wrapped. not going all big this year. but still like to make things look nice. i even wrap sets of gifts separate. like outfits are wrapped individually. makes it look like more.

Lynn. were not huge wine drinkers.. he likes his beer or rum/coke.. i occasionally like a 'brown cow' or strawberry zinfandel.

dh was a little disappointed that one of his fav. radio stations suddenly turned all xmasy last night at midnight while he was working.. poor guy. LOL

Oh, so true, Cab, but I had this microphone in my face before I knew it and that's what came out...lol! However, I wonder about Ryerson's decision to purchase it. I should have asked her what they paid for the thing, and how they determined that there wasn't a student out there deserving of a scholarship!

I watch HLN in the morning because of the light take they have on presenting the news, and I choose to watch the US news because I can shake my head and say: what dorks those Americans are, without having a vested interest in their lives. Although I do tune to CTV also, it's only to peek at the news; I feel helpless to change anything, and generally it all makes me feel sad.

To be honest, I really don't give a hot darn where they reposition that glaring sign.

Lol for sure. I know a lot of people see the sign as a landmark in itself so nice to do something with it rather then just scrap it.

Evening all, hope everyone's week has been moving along smoothly. For me, it's been extremely busy. Too busy!!! I've got my one grandson back again tomorrow morning. Today was my day off so I enjoyed it, lunch out with dh, the we went to some stores looking for a new Christmas tree and ornaments. I was going to get on from Kijiji, but people are asking ridiculous prices. For something pre-lite and nice, well over $125 Soooo, I know tomorrow is the 50% off trees and ornaments at Target, so I snuck in this afternoon to have a look at what they had and low and behold, the trees were cheaper today then they will be tomorrow. I got a beautiful Virginia Pine, pre lit 7.5 foot tree with about 1200 branches for $104.50 after my discounts CHEAPER than Kijiji and brand new with warranty

I'm heading back tomorrow for some ornaments, I picked up a bunch at Home Sense last week on sale too. The nice thing about giving all my Christmas stuff to the girls is since I'm home this year I get all new stuff

So tonight I took a frying pan out of the oven that I had a steak in, set it on the stove, then grabbed the handle tight, to lift it (forgetting I just took it out of the oven) My poor hand, it's all blistered. I put some aloe vera on it, but I think I may end up going to the hospital tomorrow if it's still burning the way it is now. I have cold cloths on it but.....grrr, I'm sooooo angry with myself, what a fool!

By the way, I put up the post for the Christmas Package Exchange in the coupons trains section if anyone is interested in doing it again this year. Time is short but it should be lots of fun again if anyone is interested in joining us this year.
