Have been planning on buying this for a couple weeks now, but watching the flyers for a good deal.
This is $159 regular price at Walmart! Crazy I know. $199 at Toys 'r Us. Riiiidonkulous!
But, Target this week has them advertised for $99, that's not toooo bad.
We planned on price matching at Walmart and using $65 in Walmart Mastercard rewards we have been saving.
Got to Walmart and found them on Rollback? for $97. Didn't say it was a rollback for sure but the website shows that price too.

So thought I would share in case anyone else was looking for one.

We end up paying $45 for ours and DD will be ecstatic!

I think I will assemble it now, then wrap it already assembled for Christmas. I read there are like 1000 stickers...fun.

Oh this couldn't come at a more perfect time - my company sponsors several families at Christmas, and two of the little girls on our list have barbie doll houses on their wish lists!!! And the price is perfect!! Thanks SO much for sharing, I hope they have some at a Walmart near me!

ETA: Darnit, none in stock at my store, and limited stock at only one of 3 other nearby stores. Hopefully can find some!

Can't you order online and have it shipped to your store free of charge?"wow lucky family that you can buy $100 toy. Dh and i along with my parents sponsor a family but our total budget is $300 for toys and clothes for 2 kids, stockings for 3, presents for mom (she wants boots which I didn't budget for and can't find anywhere for a cheap enough price) plus full Christmas dinner and lots of supplemental food. So envious of your budget, Good luck finding them.

I've never shopped online, but I am sure one of my coworkers could make it happen though. I just confirmed they have them in stock in the city, so we might be all right.

As for our budget, I am envious too, haha. My boss is an amazing person, and the budgets for each family are incredible each year. We usually get one 'big' gift for each child, several smaller gifts, some items from the 'needs' lists (ie: bedding, boots, winter coats), one family gift (ie: board game, movie gift set, etc.) and a grocery store gift card to help with Christmas dinner. The budget for each family varies a bit depending on size, as we have two 6-child families this year, and the rest are 2-3 kids. We have a tonne of fun shopping for the families! We just contact area schools to find families who could use a boost for Christmas. I really love how we celebrate Christmas where I work - It's one of my favorite things about where I work.

Wow... the Christmas sponsor-a-family programs near you seem to require a lot! For hampers, The Christmas Cheer Board here suggests that gifts for children cost in the $15-$20 range. I know people do donate more expensive gifts, but gifts for the parents aren't required. I'd think the parents are and should be happy to be getting gifts for their children and a nice donation of food items for Christmas and for their pantry!

bdkmosher, your boss is incredibly generous! Lucky families to be sponsored by your company!

It is not through a program. We contact local schools directly ourselves and ask them to identify a family - the principal then contacts the parents to see if they are interested or not (in case they are uncomfortable with the idea), and then we send a form to the school to pass along to the parent to provide age/grade of each child and a 'wants' and 'needs' list. Parents and kids fill them out together, and send them back to us. The requests are usually very reasonable, although in past years we have had a few requests we just couldn't accommodate (ie: Ipads, Laptops, XBox's, etc.). We try to accommodate as much as we reasonably can though.

    Great!

I know you have decided to get it with your WM GC to get a good price but I'm curious, did you know you could have it at Toys R Us and get an additionnial 10$ off?

You can PM any toys at Toys R Us and if the difference is more than 5%, Toys R Us will give you an additionnal 10% of the Competitor price.

    Here's the policy about it:

It's great that you're able to go through schools/agencies that really have a sense of families in need in their communities. I'm amazed, though, that parents would allow their kids to ask for expensive electronics like Ipads and XBoxes on hamper wish lists!

This was our thought too. It so far has only happened that one year, and it was definitely uncomfortably. The parents write the lists, on behalf of their children sometimes - we often get handwritten lists in the parents handwriting. Our company has been doing this for about 5 years, and that was the only year we saw outlandish requests. We have four of six family's lists so far this year, and the requests are very reasonable. Most of them don't specify specific items, just say the types of things the kids like (ie: barbies, My Little Pony, racing themed stuff, certain games for game systems, etc.).
