No worries, NBC will show it tonight without Ron McLean babbling his way through it all! That's when
I'm going to watch it. Maybe something's wrong with me, but I could not stand his interruptions...I
told the guy at CBC who took my call, "It's obvious HE loves the sound of his voice, but we do not!"
I hope the US does a better job at keeping quiet and letting us enjoy the show prior to the athletes
arriving at the venue, and during the ceremony.

Ron McClean can be a pill but at least he's not with Don Cherry. Not that I like Mansbridge much better.
I saw bits and pieces of it but can't wait to watch the whole thing tonight. I love who lit the torch. LOVE the flame tower.
From the parts that I saw the show was fantastic.

Well the NBC broadcast was far superior to the CBC one...much more information on the venue itself prior, and no babbling throughout the performances. I'm no fan of Matt Lauer, but I have to admit he kept a low profile.
I think Ron McLean got paid by the syllable.
And so true, Patty...at least Cherry wasn't there...he will be doing the broadcast of women's hockey if I'm not mistaken.
Granny...I'm fine now...can't have a snickers on my diet....

I find US version of Olympic broadcasts to be very trying with the nattering when silence would do to allow the audience to contemplate what's happening on the screen and check out the spectators and athletes.
Canadians, do try watching Radio Canada-for Vancouver and prior Olympics, I found switching between English and French CBC stations great because the French crew do not natter as much as their English counterparts. Sometimes they have coverage on Radio-Canada that English CBC is not showing or interviews with athletes. OMNI TV likely has coverage in other languages for the various news shows.
I like most of the countries' team outfits-really love the Czech Republic's jackets. Canada's snowboarding outfit seems to be the best one out of the collection. Not enjoying the toggle coats.
I saw bits of today's Opening Ceremonies-the white horses (anyone who is a K-pop fan-the horses look like the ones in SMTown's logo), the CG film showing how Russia was settled and went through the ages (am certain we saw another Olympics use a boat in their film) . That Tim Burtonesque colourful mushroom floating assembly with the dancers-shades of Sydney Australia 2000 (when the Princess Mononoke music was playing while the desert was readying to bloom segment). The workers in white jumpsuits with red anvils--hmm.
Russia missed a chance to show the world how much Russia has changed since the 1980 Moscow Games to present day. At least world knows about palm trees in Sochi, the next new destination.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

When life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....
