Objectives, goals, aspirations, endeavors, achievements, whatever you call them, we all have them.
What would you deem as your greatest life achievement to date?
...what would you like to achieve, and what would you like to see achieved in our lifetime?

Greatest achievements probably winning a couple of design awards and competitions, a gold medal in tennis during the university days, my photo on the front cover of a magazine...
These were before I got married and became a mom...
Now work is just to pay the bills really. I like the stability and not having any career ambition doesn't bother me.
My goal now is to raise good kids and be a better and more supportive wife.Last edited by Jina; Tue, Feb 11th, 2014 at 10:05 AM.

Greatest life achievement - having a happy and loving family - being blessed to have an amazing husband and a wonderful son!
Secondary - having gotten two degrees and the opportunity to have been a teacher, as well as having done work in other employment areas.

Greatest achievement so far... surviving 2012 - Graduating university, 1st real job, wedding, honeymoon, moving and buying our first home shoved into 12 months. I've been enjoying a much slower life ever since

What I hope to achieve - having a family and traveling the world.
What I'd like to see achieved in our lifetime - Definitely space travel, I'm a total nerd at heart and I want to see Virgin Galactic offering affordable space flights LOL

Yikes. Well I don't have the milestones of being a wife or mother yet.
My biggest accomplishment was defending my PhD last year and being able to walk straight into my first career position (no lag time, but that required a lot of planning/job interviews, etc).
What do I want to achieve in my life? Good question - I've been thinking about that a lot lately.

Like others my biggest accomplishment is my kids. Everything pales in comparison when I think of my accomplishments.
They are an on-going accomplishment - not just giving birth but seeing how much they progress, what great kids they are and hearing others compliment them on their behaviour, manners, accomplishments, etc. That means more to me than anything I do or have done.
As for what I'd like to achieve? I'd say to become more "worldly" - to travel more, to experience more cultures, to appreciate all life has to offer.

None to speak of, really. It is a depressing and embarrassing state of affairs, especially at my age.
Because of my failure to achieve the things I'd planned to, I am very reluctant to set future goals or even make a wish list. A person can only take so much disappointment.Last edited by TrueNorthTreasures; Tue, Feb 11th, 2014 at 12:17 PM.

Before I read everyone's responses, I figured most would be 'my kids' or 'my family'

I would have to be finishing University. It was a challenge!
Then picking up and leaving to Australia for a year with only a backpack on my back. No friends by my side. AND completing Teachers College there.
maybe this too!
This past weekend we sold our house. 7 offers in two days! that was pretty epic!Last edited by acosta; Tue, Feb 11th, 2014 at 01:11 PM.

My greatest achievement to date (in no particular order):
- opening my own business
- raising 5 awesome kids
- marrying the man of my dreams (hes so lucky he has such an awesome wife)
- getting my drivers license at the ripe old age of 42 (this is a lady whose had learner permits since she was 16....)
- successfully transitioning from a career with the Federal Public Service to one with my local government.
Achievement I hope I will see in my lifetime:
- a cure for cancer
- a cure for AIDSThe average dog
is nicer
than the average person.
