the Drummond report really laid it on the line, we are in deep debt and need to do something about it, however, it is all about buying votes. Reality is whichever party is in power there will have to be cuts and taxes under another name. Don't want to leave our kids with even more debt. Andrea Horvath really impressed me in the debates and seemed most like a 'real' person. Difficult choice as I like our local PC candidate on local issues but I don't like the idea of privatizing things.

I like Horwath as a person but the numbers in her plan make less sense to me than the PCs and certainly Libs

The Liberals claim they will clear the deficit just one year after the PCs, but their attack ads are all about how the PC cuts will hurt the province - Paiken asked her several times where she would get the money, cuts or new taxes and her basic answer was we will wait and see. I would rather a party was honest and say cuts (or higher taxes) are coming

Horwath claims businesses do not mind higher taxes but the OPS themselves have studies showing job losses when you increase corp taxes and I know plenty of small businesses that it will impact. She has lots of spending plans but the only revenue is a small increase in corp taxes, it just doesn't pay for everything she wants to do

The Liberals have already tabled funding for IVF in their budget for next year. It's been 20 years since IVF was funded. Doctors and lobbyists have been advocating for it for years. It provides valuable diagnostic information for couples going through fertility treatments but unfortunately is not covered by insurance companies.

It's covered here now but it's turned into a real fiasco. They are in the revamping stage. Problem being the criteria is too broad.

Too costly for the few people that need it.

    Yes.
Not fair using children in this election.
Heard children going home asking parents why the government is going to fire their teachers.
    Too much stress on children.
    Shame

I usually do advance polls but this year I decided to wait until day of because my voting station is in the party room of a building in my complex.

Agreed, kids don't understand it. On a semi-related note, I do like that many high schools are getting their students involved in like mock elections. They get a chance to understand our electoral system and they get to feel like they are involved, especially when what the parties are promising affect them.

    Good luck, Ontarians!

Have been watching/listening/reading closely here in SK.

Regarding the aforementioned unions bashing conservatives, that happened for decades here in SK, with the NDP being funded heavily by unions. And, the NDP ruled here for a lot of years, til finally (mostly younger) people got totally sick of them, wanted more freedom and finally elected a more progressive party - no, not the PCs - and our province has blossomed!

I just happened to tune into an Ontario radio station and I could not believe the sheer number of ads - oy, what you people must have been inundated with lately!

I'm thinking voter turnout will make a big difference in the outcome of this election.
Good luck today, hope you get what you want!

    Let the games begin!
I didn't vote this time...too late to apply for an early vote, or whatever I had to do....shouldn't be much of a surprise in our area...traditionally Liberal. The Liberal candidate here, Andrew Olivier, will be the first quadriplegic elected in Ontario.
