Afternoon Everyone,
So I officially began the filing cabinet challenge.....
I have thrown out 2 medium sized rubbermaids full of papers for as back as 2005
.
I have gone through 5 varied sized rubbermaids most of which was garbage BUT it feels good.
DH has 5 of his own Rubbermaid bins which he insists on keeping
so I will leave that stuff to him as it's jaw dropping of the varied things he wants to keep
.
I will go through the last Rubbermaid bin after I watch my Days of our Lives
, then tomorrow I will start making the proper hanging file folder tags and slowly mzozie along.
Once the purging is done the worst is yet to come in my opinion the actual sorting of the mess of papers and there are mounds of it BUT I am determine to get it done.
I found the ownership for an old camping trailer that we are putting for sale as soon as FIL returns the door which they broke the glass in a few years ago
it should be back today or tomorrow.
So once I have my filing cabinet & filing itself in order I plan to create envelopes for each month that will be in a folder for the following to better track of spending & actual expenses
Groceries
Gas
Miscellaneous
Hydro
Bell (phone & satellite)
Vehicle maintenance
and a few others I will decide on.2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

Your hubby sounds like mine - wanting to keep everything!!! Moving to a smaller home took care of that habit in a big way. I cleared our filing cabinet before we moved and got rid of tons of papers. He hasn't missed a thing that I disposed of but I did keep some stuff of his that I wasn't entirely sure of - of course, we still have those!! Maybe we need to move again lol

Found this on Pinterest I am definitely going to make 1 of these for my own challenges (lol) this way I don't have to scramble my brains trying to decide what to do
it would be only for those tasks that I have been put on the back burner, you know what I mean.....AVOIDANCE
2014 is my year to get organized and have a place for everything and everything in it's place....easier said than done with dh & all his stuff
.
2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

Another organizing tip via Pinterest
P
Put folded sheets into their matching pillowcases for neat, fast organization.

When we moved last fall, I went through and tamed the paper tiger.
It's really a good idea to do it every six months at least.
So last night, had our son over for supper - he loves borscht!
After eating and visiting, he was helping me in the kitchen getting one big pot of the soup ready for freezing - for the first time I used ziplocs instead of containers.
And he was interested in just how much all the borscht cost - because he knew the last time he had a bowl of it at a restaurant it was around $4. He did say that nothing compared to mine, though!
I did a quick adding-up and it was close to $14 for two very big Dutch ovens full. Dealio!!!
Now if I could only sell it per bowl, lol!
Sent Milan home with enough borscht for three big bowls, plus sour cream for them, and the ham and cheese biscuits which were left. He was a happy young man!
