Oh boy, I'd much rather hear Perry Como - all we've been seeing all day is the report on Torture in the US. It makes me sick to my stomach!

I have finally finished writing and stamping my Christmas Cards. I have some to deliver to my choir members on Thursday at choir practice.

We are hoping to fly to Denver to see dh's kids and their families on Saturday. But, dh will have a long awaited series of tests on Friday which will define whether or not he will get some surgery that he has been waiting for for almost a year. If the tests go well, we have no idea whether he'll be able to travel this weekend or not.

He was talking to his daughter about a gift suggestion we had for her husband. She e-mailed back to make an alternate suggestion. She gave us two ideas both of which we cannot afford. I puts us in a rather iffy situation. If we spend that amount on him then, I guess she is expecting an equal-valued gift and then what about the 2 kids and dh's son? I-yi-yi!

I try to purchase gifts through-out the year that I get on sale but of are good quality. This year was so screwed up that we are down to the last minute of buying things. We were thinking of gift cards but nowhere near the value of what she is suggesting. Good thing we're only going for 4 days. We usually take them all out for supper as well.

Does anyone know of anyone who needs a wedding quick??? I need a little more income!!!!

Oh, Avon..it's the old "be careful what you ask" problem, hm? Jeez, to ask for something expensive for her hubby.....? Not very PC and as you say, she'll likely expect something of equal value...really puts you between a rock and a hard place, doesn't it?! Time to shlep around the stores finding some real bargains.....or buying them a "couples" gift, maybe? You have quite the problem there....what have they given you and your hubby before? Can you base your gifts on that...sort-of? Wish I had some good ideas, my Friend......Oh. And I've absolutely taken a news break! I'm fed up with the Ferguson riots and protests, the other man who was strangled by the police, tortures, threats from overseas, everything!! It's much nicer wearing these rose-coloured glasses! Try a pair on, Hon....there's nothing on there that you can do anything about....just don't let it all into your home, either.

Good early morning! -8 this morning, not a falling flake in sight! Hubby and Jenny still fast asleep.....gah! Furnace guy just called....so much for between 7-11am, lol!! We were hoping for more like 11, which has been the usual time they've shown up....Hubby's up now!
Jenny will not be, until 'company' arrives shortly....

Have you all seen this? The story behind it: he and his mom and dad live with his grandmother, which is why he's saying that he can touch everything because it's not his mom's stuff, but his grandmother's things...He also always call them mom and dad unless he's negotiating....Until he's 15.....by then I hope he learns to "listen"!
