I am feeling better, thank you! No stitches. It was basically a really large surface scrape.

I kept the wounds covered for as long as I could, but I think my skin reacted to the latex in the bandage. Now I'm swollen from the wounds and the reaction, not to mention this new swelling is horribly itchy!! It must be an older bandage because all the new ones are latex-free, aren't they?

I'm leaving it up to you lovely ladies to try and distract me from scratching. Argh!!

When I saw your post, I got all excited until I saw my receipt. I did buy bananas, but because of a PM, they came out to $0.95.

The prices on some of the baking materials at Costco is amazing. They have the best price I've seen on vanilla extract and they have a 25 lb of flour for $6.89! They also have good sales on dried cranberries.

I found the homo milk for that price too! I thought I was dreaming, but I did get two for LO, some for cooking, some for drinking. She guzzles the stuff, which is probably why she's seven pounds heavier than another girl who's one year older! Yes, poor mommy.... I was so jealous when I picked up the other girl. Such a light little monkey. Sigh.

Forgot to respond for this one. I think we'd splurge on NetFlix ($7.99), special family outings like the zoo, and gifts. For mommy, I'd set aside a little for stockpiling, and I'm sure daddy would want his daily Tim Horton's coffee. I'm trying to break him of the habit, but he drives so far and for so long for work, it's more like insurance that he stays awake for the trip.
    Oh ouch. Allergic reactions suck!

I'm allergic to the adhesive in lots of bandages. I've got some massive persciption ones to go with my medi honey that are called "gentle border" (freakishly expensive I'm glad they were covered)

I got the pretty Contigo ones at Costco, hoping he'll fill up at the work coffee maker before he leaves for home. We'll see how that goes. If nothing else, he can save $0.10 on each Tim Horton's coffee. Fingers crossed! Unfortunately, it's really hard to use a refillable cup in the drive through since they always have it ready by the time you get to the window to hand it to them.
The contigo ones from Costco are awesome. I've worn one out I've used mine so often

I still use the old school coffee maker, just don't get the appeal of a fancy machine. I am the only one who drinks coffee and find the pods are way to expensive. I have 6 of the contigo cups, I had to buy a set in pink after my teen kept taking his tea in them. Now I am sure at least one of them is free since its hot pink.
I am thinking of ducking out early Friday and taking the kids to wonderland. We have seasons passes and with DHs training and lacrosse we have yet to go.

I just thought I'd pop in to let you know our trip went pretty smoothly. I've unpacked & organized most of what I brought with us. LO is loving the attention from Grandma & 13yr old uncle. I'm just having some Cheerios before I get ready for bed.

Hello folks! Well, we have decided upon someone to fix our "leak." It will involve smashing our front walkway, digging up our garden and fixing pipes that have broken or been plugged up with silt. THEN we fill in holes that have developed in the ground and let it all settle before we can put down a new sidewalk. (This should take a year.)

So then, I have to buy and re-install the insulation in the basement and re-install the vapour barrier. Then clean up the basement floor, and seal it.

I did buy and install a new blind on the window in the garage. Between the blinds and the window, we hung a mirror which has a stained glass perimeter. I think it looks quite nice.

I went and picked up my new mouth guard from the dentist today. About a few days after I had ordered it the old one mysteriously showed up RIGHT BESIDE my bed on the rug! I think the vacuum moved it out from under the bed. But it was old and chewed and really needed to be replaced and is covered 80% by our insurance so all is not loss.

Db and I went to visit the cemetery today as it is 4 years today that we lost our mum. We took her some flowers and had a nice little "chat" about what's going on in our lives. Then we went to Tim's as she loved Tim's. (All I could eat on this new no-dairy, no-sugar, no-caffeine diet was a toasted dry 12 grain bagel and a cup of ice water.)

It was a gorgeous day today and I'm enjoying the weather this week!
It must be nearly the weekend as golf has started on TV - it's the Canadian Open! And dh has actually played that course, so he knows what they are facing on each hole.

    Take care! Have fun!

@saundyl So sorry to hear about your BF's callarbone! I hope it heals soon and he doesn't have to be off work too long.
@Angela273 Glad to hear that you and LO made it safe to your Mom's and are getting all settled in. I can't imagine being away so long from home and DH! I'm sure the twins will be here soon enough
@avoncallingu I'm so sorry to hear about your bsmt issues! Wow I had no idea that there would be that much work involved in fixing it. Sounds like it will be really expensive

Bobbiegirl - we had estimates between $1,000 and $10,000. That doesn't include putting back the insulation and vapour barrier. Plus we had to buy a big fan (which seems to have quit), a new dehumidifier and pay our regular cleaner lady for a whole day's work instead of an hour. Plus, all our hard-cover books have been standing in water. We also bought a few new Rubbermaid containers to re-pack things. KA-CHING! (I'm trying not to think about it - said the ostrich to the sand!)

Hey, it's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood, though!

Saundyl: if he does need to be off can he get EI sick benefits to cover the gap before STD starts.
Avon: We had a crack in the foundation several yrs ago and thankfully the water that got inside was manageable but, the the cost to repair it was stunning. we live in Oakville so we have a busy weekend with the Open, but I like it.
Angela: if we miss you on the thread for a few days we can assume you are a bit busy.

    suandyl-sorry to hear about hubby
-avoncallinyu -it never goes away remembering our parents -my dad has been gone 41 years today -he was 49(2nd stroke ) when he died and I was 15 (I remember him telling me he would help me with high school (he was so smart went to university in Ottawa when he was in army)before he passed away that summer
-such a shame he never got to see me grow up,get married ,have kids ,grandchild so ladies who have a dad enjoy him (cause you only have one dad)may go to cemetery today or on sat/sun -hubby is working so hard on our shed -and I wont go by myself as its out of town (I don't drive where I am not familiar with -that comes from learning to drive at 35)
-I don't care if we don't go today as I don't want to run into my younger brother that's he is estranged from me

    Good Morning All,
Rough morning here, I am not sure what it is but I totally do not want to get up this week and am completely exhausted. Most are saying it is my lifestyle catching up with me and I need to take a break. I get it, I hear it but it really is not an option. We are in the middle of the busy season at work and I think this is going to be one for the record books, we are going insane. At home right now it looks like some changes might be coming (don't want to say much yet as nothing is for sure and we have been here before and it has fallen through) but if things happen like it looks like they might we have a month to get our house in order and in working condition before things go completely insane for us. So slowing down right now really does not feel an option. The good news is 5 months until shut down. Oh well just need to get through today and tomorrow and I am off Sunday and little happy dance Mom is working Sunday so if I can everything done around the house Saturday after work I can try to rest and relax on Sunday.

I have been posting a ton of stuff to try to get it out of our house, not many takers yet, think it is the Summer factor plus the group I am in covers two areas which are about 15 minutes apart and everyone expects delivery which I will do for some items but these little $1 or $2 items I will not delivery as it will cost me more in gas. I do have one pick up for Saturday just waiting for her to confirm the time as I am working and so is Mom so hopefully she can make it before Mom leaves or after I get home. I must also say the number of no shows has gone WAY up but I have decided to stop chasing these people once they miss their pick up the item is marked as still available and we move on. I am done with the asking do you still want it, holding the item and in too many cases lately after a week of tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow I get a you know what let's forget it. I want to work with people and I want the stuff gone but too many times I hold the item and by the time they finally pass on it everyone else who was interested has also moved on and I am still sitting on the item.

Sorry those are my little rants for today, time to get on with today and see where it takes me. Fridays are my insane day and my leadership coaching got moved to today so it might be a bit stressful but I will make it work. Have a great day everyone.

Well Mom of 5 Boys I am happy for you that it is raining today-not exactly sure where you are but it is pouring in West Van which is great for all the people here who need rain-maybe not as nice for us visitors but in the big pic that does not matter! The home we are staying in had new sod put in this year and sadly it is getting quite brown with the watering ban. Yesterday we met some friends and strolled round Granville market-tomorrow off to the island and goodbye to the lovely friends who are hosting us here. Have we heard from Granger for a day or two? Maybe she will have some news for us within a few days!

    Good morning, all!

Ah, remembering my Dad today - it's his birthday. He would have been 95, but passed away at a very young 66.
So, coupongirl, I'm sure feeling for you that your dad died when you were a teen - my younger brother was 15 when ours died.

Will be another hot day today - alas, no rain.
