Hello, Everyone!!!
Just got back from camping...we woke up to pouring rain and felt silly for not checking the weather report for the next couple of days, but by the time we packed up, we just drove home in a drizzle, so not too bad after-all. We were going to stay over tonight, but more rain in the forecast for tomorrow, so we might just as well spent the time here. It's just a two-hr drive home so that's not too bad a trip back and forth.
It was a great weekend with the kids...even my hubby took one of their sea-dos out when our SIL took our grandson on the other one and they must have been out for a couple of hours. Our DD took me into town for a couple of groceries and then to the big flea-market they have there, then to a look-out point that I've never been to, and of course the gift-shop there, but we didn't buy anything. It was such a sun-shiny 3 days...just perfect. The satellite guy was waiting for us at our trailer when we got there to hook us up, so now we can get the news and yes, the Jays games..
as well as others....I really did miss the news.
We'll all be back there Thursday evening.
Nat, must be a relief to have your son home safe and sound again...I honestly can't imagine tenting!!! And you gals who did that with little tots?!! Wow...what an experience for all of you!! None of us were campers in the very least growing up. I guess the kids started this when they bought their first little trailer, just to leave town on the weekends, decided they loved it, bought the new one they have planted there now, and we followed right along, lol...I just can't imagine not being close to the kids like we are. I've met several couples who just take off for the whole winter, or all summer, and leave their families behind. I guess I'm cut from quite a different cloth; I just couldn't imagine doing that....We have gone down south in the winter for a month, but to leave just after Christmas (and some leave before Christmas!!) and not come back until April? Can't begin to imagine it....
Avon...you're less dense than I am, because even with your referencing the Jays to Hick's name, I still don't know what you're referring to!! LOL!! So Hicks....how did you come up with 22Hicks? So curious...I thought that somewhere it may become evident, but nope...nothing, yet...
Walks...Hicks...I'M even watching the Jays on tv now!! I know...hopping back onto the band-wagon when they're doing well, but they're really doing well!!!
I only hope my Packers can pick up the pace this year...I start the year with them hoping they'll make the Superbowl playoffs, but something always happens (usually to their defense!) and they disappoint me once again.Good thing I have lots of back-up teams I love, too!
I hope you all are having a great week, although I guess it's drizzly all over Ontario...not sure about the west, however...
Take good care, everyone!! Off to toss a load of laundry in from the trailer, then put away for the trip back....

Lynn, sounds like you had a great time. What a great decision for you to buy that trailer.
Boy I wish I could go to Florida for 6 months. To ditch winter, that would be heaven.
Hey Walks, we got her !!!!!
Don't worry Lynn, believe me you're not the only one. We're so use to getting our hopes up, but our teams keep on losing. These Jays are for real. I hope they keep up the momentum. Believe me, it's not just the fans who're hyped, the players are too.
I'm sorry you never experienced camping. The scenery, the wildlife, all the outdoor activities, and real quality time with the family. I think if you get use to it as a kid, it's just in your blood. I know so many people who try it adults, and say 'never again'.
Well, it just started raining here. I guess that's a good thing, because I forgot to water the gardens last night, and they so need water. Everything is drooping.
My 'name'? I think I'll just keep you guessing. Actually, it's really a boring story, so don't try to figure it out, you can't, it's just my junk.
So, get those chores done, it won't be long before you're leaving again.

I second that! DH and I went camping LONG before any of the kids came along, and we just adapted as each one arrived.
( more equipment, bigger tents, etc ) Back then my energy was boundless!! ( and if anyone finds it, let me know....I lost it quite a while ago! ha ha )
We have tried every type of air mattress/memory foam, even silly metal cots! All were learning experiences and when DD was around 2 yrs old one of us had to sleep ACROSS the zippered door to block it because once she had moved around so much she somehow had crawled right out of the tent during the night!! Thank goodness there are no Dingo's here! ( sorry, groan, bad humour )
I would most def. consider RV-ing on some small trips wiith DH , maybe when he retires!!

SPEAKING of weather....I actually had to put the HEAT on in the house this evening for a few minutes!!! I think it's the dampness; the rain's stopped, but I think the dampness hurts my arthritis...I feel old.....
It seems I'm either too hot or too cold lately.......nothing in between...weird.

Yeah, weather was crummy here too. I'm going through the same, either shivering, or sweating.

I really miss the Jays not playing today, so I've been watching old movies on TV, all of which I've seen many times before, and I even have them on dvd. Apollo 13, The Fugitive, and Armageddon. Didn't do anything constructive today. Can't wait for the game tomorrow.
