Dh and the 2 boys are outside putting the joist in the shed for the floor. Next step will be plaining / sawing boards for the floor itself.

Well my toaster oven no longer shuts off, so I need to be mindful to set the oven timer so that I don't over cook items.

Not much planned for today, need to set a time for dh and I to work on September budget which is costly because of travelling to and from hunting. Good news is the $ has been accumulating for the license (bird & moose) as well as property taxes so no worries on that front. Really hoping to sit down and have it all worked out by Monday.

Some fruit that i froze,2 steaks,3 apple pies,5 pizzas,4 loaf of bread, canned juice,5lbs of hamburger,10 containers of pasta sauce and 5 containers of chicken stock

Treated myself to a pedicure on my lunch break. Payday is coming up and I hadn't spent my "fun money" so figured I should enjoy some pampering. Raining here now so thinking its an in the house kind of night. Need to do some cleaning anyway so it works!

No i can't freezer wasn't even cold so must of happened in the beginning of the week

Took a look at the upcoming sales flyers. So happy the cases of KD are on for $5.88 at No Frills. I know its crap but DS likes it now and again when he has a friend over and we have 1 box left!!!! Hope the expiry dates are long. Good sales on fruit and veggies for us. English Cucs 50 cents at NF (I always get 400 PC PTS So will be stocking up for sure. Hope they are good for 1st week of school lunches. DS loves them with salt and pepper. Romaine heart 3 pk (I always get 600 PC PTS) Pineapple $1.88 (300 pc pts) Basket of peaches $2.88. No meat sales for us but that is ok, freezer is full so we will pull from there. Should be a pretty cheap shop and just fresh stuff really.

It was already smelling.I got a another cleaning jobhelping a friend for a couple of days and i have a customer tomorrow so another $400 on my LOC

We are glad to be back home again after staying in a hotel on the weekend. Yesterday was rough because both twins were fussy and cluster feeding. They settled down around midnight and have been pretty good today. LO and I were even able to spend an hour weeding in the garden. I dug a few red potatoes too. Made a fruit smoothie for lunch and the babies didn't cry from the sound. I have the sheets and pillowcases from our bed already in the dryer. Washed up the dishes too. I should try to sort and put away laundry later, dh washed a mixed load last night.

I posted my red rhubarb for sale again today and a lady wants 3kg. I told her that I'm not sure that I have that much on my plant, but that she could come over and I will sell her everything that is on my plant. I also posted to try and trade some of my tomatoes (large yellow, medium red, and cherry tomatoes) or red potatoes for other garden produce: carrots, peas, spaghetti squash, butternut squash, raspberries, or strawberries. One person messaged me asking to buy tomatoes from me since she didn't have produce to trade. I might make a few dollars off them. I can always use the money to buy the desired produce from the farmer's market on Saturday mornings. I sold rhubarb last year and then bought zucchini from the farmer's market because my zucchini plants oddly did not want to produce last year.

Dh pulled out pork steaks and a large package of ground beef from the freezer last night. I think part of the ground beef would be good to turn into shepherd's pie with some of the fresh potatoes. Dh really likes shepherd's pie, I only think it is ok. I'd like to cook a small pork roast or a ham, but it is 30C outside so I'll try to avoid putting extra pressure on our central air-conditioning. LO and I would like to do some baking, but we'll have to see about that too.

edit: all three of our children are asleep, so I'm going to try to get a bit of a nap before one of the twins wakes up wanting to nurse again.

When I brought it up to her she said if it was gross she was just going to toss it. It just kind of threw me off that this person bagged everything like that and makes me kind of hesitant to open these bags now. Maybe it is my OCD germ thing coming through but I know it will just be my luck I will be emptying the bags and will stick my in or on something dirty.

Given the battles you've had with existing things at home not being put away by Mom, put the onus on Mom-for every thing she keeps, she's to clean it before the end of the month AND toss out something of her own. Or into the trash it goes.

Yes, it's offputting to receive some item dirty from a friend--character revelation.
@SassyAshley -I just read the book Women, Work & the Art of Savoir-Faire. One of the four anchors in our lives is personal time for hobbies/relaxation/fun. You definitely are taking steps to make that anchor a priority for you. Author also mentioned the importance of saying no to things. If you've been the one doing the golf tournament for years, time to hand it off with some notes, a meeting or two and move on with your work goals. Respect your time.

I'm glad for the moderate temperatures this week but not the return of 30C+ on the weekend.

Yesterday's dinner was tricoloured spiral pasta with chopped basil leaves (from one plant) and a tin of chili Thai tuna-it was actually quite good! I have cut some of the Italian parsley to dry and expect that some of the remaining stalks outside will go to a family friend.

I was admiring the amount of pears on a tree in the neighbourhood-one would need a ladder to get most of them down. Last week I saw that a little parkette had a mature pear tree-the bees were making short work of the green pears on the ground from a fallen limb.

Many people don't realize that pears have to be picked green and then placed in a cooler area to ripen slowly. If left on the tree, they eventually rot from the inside. We just picked all the pears on my parent's tree and I'll can them as they ripen.

Good Morning All,
Oh what a night. I had a couple pf pick ups last night after the first one I had dinner and put the second out for pick up as I wanted to spend half an hour in the basement seeing what I could get done. Well that turned into almost 2 hours. This is what I found when I moved a box: Attachment 291279
One of my Mom's cake colour things (yes that is me being technical) had leaked, someone had stacked a box on top of another top and snapped the lid off and and it leaked everywhere. Good news is we had planned to remove that carpet anyways just had to wait until we got everything off it, down side this is the only carpet in our house and have no carpet cleaner anymore. It took some scrubbing and it is not all gone but it is good enough that we can now walk over this area well we work in the room.

Wow, that is a lot of boxes to work through! This is exactly what our place would look like if we didn't have the one in-one out rule b/c my hubby is a big bit of a pack rat. When we downsized to this smaller house (with much less storage space), it was a very painful process to get him to realize that we had to get rid of a ton of stuff....now he is glad we did but what a job!
