HICKS!!! You're back!!!! Yay!!
I hope you have some good news to share about your Friend...You must be exhausted with the visitors and visitations...I hope you can get some well-deserved rest now.

We'll likely be leaving for camp tomorrow, so I'm glad I got to touch base with you before we left. If it's drizzly and gloomy (yet hot and muggy) like today, we may put it off until Friday morning.

In any case...welcome home!!

Friend's still recovering in hospital, and when he gets a little stronger, the surgeon has to go back in. His brother flew back to England. and his sister back to North Bay. They may come back though, when he has surgery.

Jake's getting better, but still not himself. He's in some pain, & not eating much yet. Fingers crossed.

As you can see, I have my computer back up & running. They were able to recover all my photos, which I was most worried about. Just got the wifi connected this evening. All bank accounts and cards have been changed - what a pain.

On top of all that, I broke a toe, and my glasses, among a couple of other issues. It's been a he!! of a couple weeks, but I feel I'm getting back to normal - almost. Still tired & stressed, but I'm getting there.

Anyhow, my head's splitting. I have to get to bed. Good night & sweet dreams.

kidlet sleeping...debating what to do with my evening..though i think i might be sucked into sewing up her new dress her auntie got her (it needs some minor repairs already) the one flaw to knowing how to sew.. you start to see all the flaws in pre-made garments

Good morning everyone.
thanks for all the well wishes...I did end up staying in bed for most of the day yesterday. Don't know what happened really, but within the span of 30 minutes the night before I went from feeling okay and having some sniffles, to feeling exhausted and awful with a completely congested head and chest...so I stayed home yesterday.

feeling better today, but still a few sniffles, a sneeze here and there, and a few coughs.
gotta get better though...the LONG WEEKEND IS COMING!

hiya dan, dededi! I was up a little earlier than usual today, good thing too because I had promised the guys I would have a big bowl of egg salad in the fridge all ready for them this morning when they came in from work. Well didn't I totally forget to boil the eggs before I went to bed last night? It's all done now, ( and I HAD to taste test it ....Mmmm) they'll be none the wiser.
I cannot believe the pooches are not pacing the floor bugging me for their walk? Don't they know we are late? ha ha I am gonna sit here till they clue in! happy Thursday all.

DAN, nice to see you've almost recovered from that cold/flu thingy before the weekend!

I haven't looked outside, yet, but I'm guessing it's another gloomy, muggy day, so I'm not sure when we'll be heading to camp. The kids are leaving tomorrow morning, so.....maybe us, too.

YUM, egg salad, one of my favourite things in the world, lol...
Do your pups want to go for their walk as soon as they get up in the morning? I hope you can squeeze a cup of coffee in before then. Jenny is still asleep under the covers. She was on top of the bed when I woke up, but now she's completely under everything. I'm guessing she's not quite ready to start her day, yet. So on to coffee, probably a call from my DD while she's driving to her other bank this morning...we yak through her 20 minute drive. She's been trying to get so much done before her conference next week and then her trip to Mexico with 9 other fellow workers to that private villa...oh, I hope they can all unwind and stay safe...

yeah @Lynn49 , these guys have me on a short leash! When my feet hit the floor as I get out of bed, they start! They are prancing and dancing around the living room, I hear their nails on the wood floor, then as I descend the stairs the whining begins ( usually Murphy! ) and if I could make the sound for you here you'd crack up. ( I hear his whining as " oh my God! I need to pee NOW!! )
I change quickly into sweats or whatever is marginally acceptable as outside clothing and off we go. Once they are back and are eating their treats then I can brush my teeth, wash my face and start MY day. Buggers! I love them to bits!

May I just say hearing about the hassles with dogs makes me very happy to have kitties!

hicks, gee, so much going on - hopefully it's all sunshine from here on in!

LOL...I hear ya! Without our little critters we'd be couch potatoes! I even used to love those walks Jenny and I would take, mid winter when the snow was crunchy, just after dinner...there was something about getting out there, breathing in the fresh, cool air and the lovely silence. Then coming inside and having hot chocolate (me) and a big doggie cookie for her. I hope we can do that again this winter...right now I can walk poorly, lol, like someone who's had a little too much wine (I have to watch the ground, then get disoriented, have to stop, get a wobbly start going again...not pretty! sheesh!), but my new orthotics will be in soon, new old lady shoes (even though the doc said there are some very pretty ones out now), and back to physio to learn how to walk properly all over again! Hey, it's ONLY been a year and 3 months!!
