Russian-backed forces have stepped up their attacks today, resuming attacks in the Mariupol area with mortars.

ATO Press Centre says that a Ukrainian defensive position in Marinka, west of Donetsk, was fired on with genade launchers, anti-aircraft artillery and small arms.

Ukrainian troops in the village of Luganskoye, north-east of Gorlovka, came under fire from small arms.
In the Lugansk region, the military reports, there was a small arms attack near the village of Zholobok, on the front line

Ukrainian Natalya Buksa wins World Chess Championship in Russia

Another Ukrainian victory over Russia on the chess board.
Ukraine-born Natalya Buksa has won the Youth World Chess Championship held in Russia's town of Khanty-Mansiisk.
She's 19.


President Petro Poroshenko wrote on Twitter: "I am congratulating Natalya Buksa on her victory at the Youth World Chess Championship in Russia. Ukrainian women are the best".

Weapons, explosives discovered in Russian “humanitarian aid”


Ukraine’s military intelligence revealed a specially equipped cache filled with weapons and explosives near the strategic port city of Mariupol from a warehouse were the contents of Putin’s “humanitarian convoys” are being stored, according to the General Staff.

Four kilograms of TNT, grenades to antitank grenade launchers, ammunition and thermobaric ammo, and a number of various fuses were discovered in the cache

“Given the peculiarity of the cache, we can say that it was created recently. Given the set of explosives, we can make the assumption that they might have been aimed for making a mine to blow up a passenger bus,” reads the statement.

It is noted that all of these weapons and equipment were packed in white bags of Russia’s “humanitarian” aid, marked with a special adhesive tape “Novorossiya Aid Foundation,” which was created and has been active in the Russian Federation.

“So, once again we can see that, instead of food, the white trucks have been bringing weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, with the purpose of killing innocent Ukrainians, destroying our country’s infrastructure and make life in Donbas a horror,” said the General Staff.



400-gramm packets of TNT were transported inside aid packages of the "Fund to help Novorossiya."

One of the sculptures this year at Burning Man, an annual desert festival in Nevada, USA, celebrating community and art, is "Love," created by Alexandr Milov from Odessa, Ukraine. "Taking into account the situation in our country, this gets even a deeper meaning."


The sculpture demonstrates a conflict between a man and a woman and, ultimately, an inner expression of human nature. The figures of the protagonists are made in the form of big metal cages, where their inner selves are captivated. Their inner selves are executed in the form of transparent children, who are holding out their hands through the grating.



As it's getting dark (night falls) the inner children shine. This shining is a symbol of purity and sincerity that brings people together and gives a chance of making up when the dark time arrives.
