Sorry about your friend not being around for Christmas Avon; that's disappointing.

Thank you for those healing vibes. I need all I can get right now. Having a tough time right now, for more than I reason, and I just found out yesterday that they've cut my home care to 3 hours a week, since I'm not bed ridden.
As for Jake, he's been such a comfort, he's so loving, but I feel badly for him.

@margy - what a wonderful day for both of you. Your DD's reaction to that dress was a dead give away that it was 'the one'.

Hicks, that's outrageous! Please call your case manager and ask to be reinstated. If that doesn't work, ask to speak to the manager, etc. Maybe your MPP could intervene.

Actually, the Case Supervisor came out & did an assessment, & reported that I needed more. Then the Manager came out to do her own, and would not reinstate the 5 hours.

I think I'll have to do something about Jake, 'cause this is going to be months, not weeks.

Phone your vets office & ask them if they can offer any advice. Maybe a responsible high school student who is looking for their community service hours could walk Jake. I had some real difficulties & exercises in futility with the CCAC. I think the managers are encouraged to take services away from clients & dismiss some real needs.
I found it to be a very frightening time. There I was, confined to my bedroom, just been through a fairly major operation. (right leg was amputated just below the knee due to cancer ... the same cancer I am fighting now) I needed help with just about everything. Mobility was a major issue & doing things of a personal nature became major tasks. Such a long story that I won't bore you with.

I hope that somehow Hicks can get this dealt with....

What a wonderful day I had yesterday. My daughter and I went bridal
gown shopping. Both our appointments were in south Mississauga, and
we had lunch in between. We felt like we were on TLC's 'Say Yes To
the Dress'. She tried on gown after gown and looked fabulous in
every one. I photographed her front and back in each one, so that
we could remember our favorites. At our second appointment, when
she tried on gown number five, something magical happened. We
both loved it...the slim and flared cut, the artistically placed lace
over tulle, the lovely neckline, the handcut lace straps, the subtle
sparkle and light-catching effect of the scattered sequins, the
unbelievable softness of the beautiful train, the demure scooped
open back with satin covered buttons at the closing. Her expression
changed, she couldn't stop admiring it. She went into the change
room, and then came right back out with the gown still on,
saying she couldn't take it off. We discussed more, and then
she got all red-faced and teary eyed, and I asked her if she was
saying 'Yes' to the dress, and she immediately said "Yes!".
The consultant gave her a brass hand bell, she rang it, and
everyone in the salon clapped happily! It's a moment we both
will always treasure.

Oh, how absolutely lovely! I remember how special it was to go with my Mom for my gown - and I knew it when I found the right one, too!

When's the wedding? How exciting! Dish.... I'm not the only one on here who loves wedding talk!
