Home from the concert, and 'the kids'' place...what a fun concert! Our Grandson was the only kid who had to come to us for hugs and kisses...and even went back to his Dad, crouching in the aisle having finished taking a video of his performance, to get another hug and kiss...he's just the greatest kid!!
Sorry..but don't Grandparents think their own Grandkids are the best?! LOL!!!
We all (both sets of Grandparents and their kids) went for lunch after the concert to Montana's, then Hubby and I went back to their house until now...although our Grandson and his Dad had to return for the evening concert. His class was 3rd on the bill so they were able to leave...the parents were stacked in the gym and overflowed into the lobby!!! I hope all the parents got to see their kids perform.
Time to unwind...although visiting with the kids at their home, sipping wine by the fireplace, listening to music (and yes, playing Lady Antebellum for me..
) is always the best of times....
Good night and sweet dreams, everyone!!!Last edited by Lynn49; Wed, Dec 16th, 2015 at 07:55 PM.

Sounds like such a wonderful day for you @Lynn49 - one you won't soon forget. A cherished memory.

And yes, isn't that horse unique.

Sounds like a wonderful day, Lynn! I miss those concerts - everyone has a good time and parents/teachers/kids learn about fun together!
We zipped over to the States today to mail our packages - no problem - got some gas (half the price of here) - and had a WONDERFUL lunch - almond encrusted pickerel.
A truck in front of us at the ferry heading back to Canada had to file some info with the US as they had a truck full of rifles and ammo (obviously hunters if one goes by the jaunty feather in the one guys hat) but it was making me nervous that as they were looking for the serial numbers, or something the muzzles of those rifles kept being precariously pointed at our car.
Then, after the border patrol guide had finished with them - they just left the truck parked in front of us in the line and walked away. Now - combined with the persistant "Trial Run" of the Emergency Information Warning System this morning which cut out every station on the TV for about 20 minutes, I started to get worried.
But, as it turned out, they just walked over to the CVS Pharmacy to use the washroom (after they probably pooped their pants! after being checked over by the US Border Patrol only to have to face the CANADIAN Customs on the other side of the river.
While they went to relieve themselves, we pulled ahead of them in line, guaranteeing that we didn't have to wait for another 1/2 hour behind them at the Canadian Customs.
Well, it's colder but still well above 0 here. I have ALL the gifts for my family Christmas this weekend to wrap tomorrow - SO, I'd better head off to bed. Good night, everyone! Take care!Last edited by avoncallingu; Wed, Dec 16th, 2015 at 11:22 PM.

Good morning!
Oh, I miss Christmas concerts, too! I still enjoy watching bits on the local cable channel from local schools.
Milan came over for supper and a visit yesterday - so it was as wonderful as always. Bonus was that he did some fiddling with the computer, so hopefully it's fixed things up better than it has been. Recently I kept having to restart firefox, was having trouble with flash, and was getting odd messages now and then - and things were pretty slow. So fingers crossed that he's extended the life of this very old computer for a while yet!
He did let me know that I've been doing a good job keeping things up with it, said most of his friends' parents can't do a fraction of the things I do on here - plus, I know some stuff he doesn't, which surprized him, lol!
Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning, everyone!!
Busy day ahead: grocery shopping shortly with Hubby for all ingredients for tomorrow's dinner for 'the kids' and our Grandson, some make-ahead prep-work, assembling appys, main entree...I like to have as much done ahead of time so that I'm not too overwhelmed and tired on the day of the dinner.
I hope everyone else's days are filled with excitement, too!!
Have a wonderful 8-sleeps-before-Christmas!!

hicks, I hope that you mean busy resting!
Gee, it's almost 8 and husband isn't home yet - he did call, said there was trouble with the van and he was at our son's shop getting it fixed.
Hope they get done soon - it's going to be a very cold night, windchill near -30.
Have a great evening, everyone!

ITA with Hicks!!! I don't live where she does, but we had +4 today with some drizzles.
-30?!! I can't even begin to think how cold that would be right now!!
Hope all's well with your van and that your Hubby's home safe and sound.
Sweet dreams, everyone!!
