So, tonight there's a chance to see Comet Catalina...I have clear skies and have already located the big dipper ..will be checking after midnight, will keep you posted:
Saturday, January 16, 2016, 2:30 PM - Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as comet Catalina makes its closest approach - only 110 million kilometers away from Earth.
Astronomers say Catalina is close to the end star in the handle of the Big Dipper and should appear fuzzy and green in colour. It is recommended to try looking for the comet after midnight through the pre-dawn hours as that is when the Big Dipper rises highest in the sky. If you miss Catalina, it is expected not to come around for another 150,000 years.

It's -5. We had a snowstorm last night, about 30 cm. It came fast and now it's over.

Did get to see the comet last night, it was amazing. Had to use binoculars but could easily find the light with the tail...hot chocolate & the Sky Guide app made it very easy to locate. Very exciting
