day 3 with the outside round roast: we didn't think it made a great hot roast but it is very tender and toothsome in a sandwich, thinly sliced. My take is roast beef, Worcestershire sauce, onions on multigrain rye; he's going to do something involving white bread and gravy because he's old school. (Fend for yourself night)

..made a goulash ..fried ground beef and added onions, mushrooms, corn, baby spinach, S&P, garlic powder (too lazy to chop garlic!lol) basil, hickory bbq sauce, mustard, ketchup, large spoonful of garlic & herb cream cheese, mixed it all together and let cook..and then made KD on the side and mixed it it with the meat mixture...it was really good...
...today I made a batch of cookies, used the Becel "anything goes" recipe and added a bag of Hershey butterscotch chipits and under baked just a smidge so they are soft and gooey..OMG, they are really good..recipe said it would make about 52 cookies but I ended up with 3 doz! I LOVE warm, soft cookies crumbled in butterscotch ripple ice cream

Ah, you are a good man!
I panfried cod fillets in a light breadcrumb coating, had with coleslaw and we tried the Seeds of Change spanish rice (not great, had gotten it free, won't buy). Luckily my son had come over and brought me goodies - some of which included my favourite fries - so we had those as well.
The fries have a story - they are from 7-Eleven, but there are only two stores which make them out of the dozens in our city, most have wedges. Anyway, those two stores are very far away from us, so we rarely get them - but I had asked my son to pick me up some snoballs from there (the only place which has them), and I had asked that he also get me a few small bags of chips of different flavours I haven't tried before - and in the list I included fries and gravy (which only 7-11 used to carry). So he came home with real fries and gravy - bonus, and not really a 'mistake'. They are really big homecut fries, some sort of amazing coating on them, and you get a big bagful for $2 - a bit larger than the size of a brown paper lunch bag.
So, yeah, needless to say we are all full!

Tonight we did cold turkey sandwiches and cesare salad. I need to start reading this thread again for inspiration. Trying to meal plan more. We eat out less, spend less and eat healthier.
