I only got to see the last few minutes of the show tonight but we have it set to record at home.
I was honestly thinking I must have missed a lot, but I will ask after I have viewed the recorded one at home.
Hope everyone enjoyed it.

OMG, what a show! Ok, it was terrible/horrible but gee, can Shonda ever make drama!
It was so well done, so complex, so emotional.
Meredith did better acting without having a voice for 3/4 of the show than she usually does with dialogue - she really impressed me with this episode.
If anyone else was in awe as I was about the haunting song at the end, here it is

Is this because you were bored, tired or it was too hard to watch?
Here are my thoughts:
Killing Derek gave the show the "new beginning" it needed. Much like saying goodbye to well loved characters Yang, Mark, Lexie, and WAY BACK Izzy and George!
This episode was gruesomely beautiful. After all that Meredith has been through...
I believe Shonda Rimes had a few motives. 1) To identify Meredith as a survivor, not a victim. I feel like ever since the plane crash she (and others) have been victims. 2) There needed to be reconciliation and forgiveness between Meredith and Penny. I had to wipe back the tears when Penny fought for Mer when Mer couldn't anymore. And, Weber, the "Father" figure brought in the forgiveness theme.
@Natalka haunting nails it. I found a heavy spiritual under layer to this episode (at least for me because that is the lens through which I breathe my own life). Thank you for sharing the song.
Right after I am angry about a dry spell, I am reminded it is worth the wait.
Funny story: the no audio went on just long enough. Long enough that I thought I may have an audio problem rather than it being theatrical. Just when I went to check my audio settings Alex's voice cut in and I was laughing along with the two of them.Last edited by Granger; Mon, Feb 15th, 2016 at 09:49 AM. Reason: I forgot Mark!!! So I was all sad about the divorce papers being signed - then, boom, with April being pregnant, there is renewed hope!

I was sad too because Jackson and April fought so hard to be together. And yet, watching the backwards replay. They are so dysfunctional. I didn't even see the baby coming. Grey's keeps bringin' it for me. A great episode.
It was nice to have a break from Meredith too (who actually drives me bonkers, she is my least favourite character). The break though has me looking forward to seeing how her and Penny are doing in upcoming episodes."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

So, so very sad that the son didn't get to see his mom before she died.
It's good that Riggs told Meredith about what happened with Owen's sister
Silly Jo, not to just say yes!
April had better tell Jackson asap.

My husband popped in and finished watching the episode with me. He was home from work early. He was asking about Riggs. Who is this guy and why does Meredith hate him? I was having a hard time articulating and then they just laid it all out for me. I told him, in my defence all that info is new to me.
This episode felt plain after the last two, but Natalka, you highlighted the important plot advancements."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

And this episode felt even more plain! There was no amazing case to cheer for, to get emotionally involved with.
Too many actors, if you know what I mean...
I couldn't figure out why that 'new' doc was bugging me so much, then I realized he plays or used to play a character on the Young and Restless I disliked very much. Hope he's not going to stick around to be the foil for Meredith.

I enjoyed it better than the previous. I felt the major surgery was weird. I, like the other doctor, was stuck on how is this man going to live with one leg in the middle of his body. There was very little character development to that patient too, which was unusual for a major case and a character that may appear again.

Yes...one leg in the middle of the body...ummm...they didn't bother to explain how that could possibly work. Wasn't a huge fan, but liked it better since I didn't see too much of April lol

The ending? Ouch!
We all know April is annoying and makes poor judgment calls. We also all know that her conscience gets the better of her. She was going to do the right thing...she needed time. Impulsive Arizona sticking her nose where it doesn't belong creates the drama that keeps the show rolling."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

Okay everyone! I watched last week's episode last night. I am so happy that April and Jackson's drama has toned down.
Who would you character witness for, Arizona or Callie? You can only pick one.
Logistically, I should pick Callie. She is the biological mom, Arizona is the cheater. Moving to New York though? Decisions made without real discussions? Callie is acting so, well, Arizonish! I will go against the odds and pick team Arizona. lol.
We all know that the hospital day care raises their kids anyway. They just kiss them good night. Do any of them even go to school? They must be of age!Last edited by Granger; Wed, May 4th, 2016 at 09:26 AM.

^ I agreed with being on team Arizona and can see why custody was granted to her. Callie is the one moving away to follow her honey that she hasn't even known very long, and it would have taken the child away from her home and extended 'family'.
