Still trying to give rep, one of these days I`ll get lucky.

Just checking in, but don't have a lot of time these days. Monday I had to help take down the xmas tree in my building's lobby - sheesh, I'm tired of the silly twits who complain about it being up so long (one nitwit wanted it down on New Years Day), but are never willing to do the work. The running joke is that it's left up to the 2 invalids to do all the hard labour (I've got my health issues & my neighbour just had a hip replacement). Yesterday, I had the first day of my annual tune-up, where I get to test all the equipment owned by the local hospital. I keep teasing that one of these days I'm going to give them a bill for my services. Still have 3 days next week to get poked & prodded.

Hope those who are sick, feel better, and those dealing with difficult situations find some inner peace.

My New Years resolution was to divest myself of some of the stress in my life, so I quit one of the activities that was driving me batty. I haven't had to face the consequences of my actions...yet - crossing fingers that I may never have to - but I feel so much better.

Right now my sweet dog is still sound asleep in her bed. The cat woke up when I got on the computer, gave up trying to get me to make breakfast, & went to lie down. He threw himself against the wall, his cheek pressed into the carpet, his tail end up on the wall, sort of like a lopsided head-stand. I tried to take a picture, but the little brat noticed me move & ran over.

Stay warm. It`s -29C (-20F) - in other words, it`s COLD!!!! Looks like we`ll be exercising in the stairwell today (well, I`ll be standing still while the dog runs up & down the stairs). Poor dog will be wearing her boots & fleece-lined coat when we go out. I`m going to have to get her a doggy ski mask to keep her nose warm. Thankfully she`s more of a wimp than I am about cold & rain, so the walk will be more like a race to see how quickly she can get the necessities overwith.

he's home today. the DH (DAMN IN THIS CASE) insisted to keep him home. because the roads are icy. but the schools are not closed. i told him if you had to stay home all day with him, you'd send him in a fricking blizzard! so am not happy here

and the ds did not get up in time anyway. i called him, he answered, and just getting up now. grr. so this is 2nd time this month he's pulled this crap, where he went to bed early or on time and couldn't wake up for school. i took away awana tonight.

his behaviour has been really childish too. i know it's because he's wondering what we're planning on doing to him with th eparenting course. lol.

but enuf about that.

we have to find rebel, there's a gale harold look alike living here in halifax. we have too hook them up all we have to do is get her to enroll in university.. anyway, he's a dead rignger for gale. and it was on her jcpenny wish list

OMG Ndit -29 in TO?? Are the subways running at all? Iremember they had problems running at -15 when I lived there.

It is going to be colder here tomorrow, I hope my car starts. I have a garage, but it ended up getting filled with stuff from mom and the sheds when they collapsed last year. Since I only just got the new shed up before the snow started, I didn't get enough moved over to be able to parking inside. I so hate not being able to use the garage to park the car.

I thnk I am going to use the last of my wood up this week. I can't complain too much, it is my fault that I didn't get more wood this year. I bought wood 4 yrs ago, 10 cords and I didn't use any last year (too lazy) so 10 cords last 2 yrs and a bit. I am going to try to get 15 - 20 cords this time. I have all of July to stack it in the back of the garage. I could probable put more in, but I have tofind the money to buy it!!

NS - I am going to go to my mom's over the weekend, so your book won't be mailed until next Monday. You should have it within the next 2 weeks. (I want to take a look at it) LOL

I am so not wanting to work today. I have 110 pages of accounts to look at to see it they have the right info on them since we did the upgrade. Tedious work. I wish they would let me work from home for this stuff.

As far as I know, it's running. I think it's the windchill that's made it that cold, & it is very windy, especially in my little corner of the world. From what I understand, it's not so much the cold, but when there's snow or sleet or rain followed by a sudden cold snap that messes with the signals. The reporters are freaking out, as per usual. Sheesh, you'd think they'd be used to it by now.

I wrapped the poor dog up in her coat & boots when I took her out this morning. She gave me that look that's usually given by teens when their mothers try to dress them in not quite stylish clothing. At least she was warm.
